Owned by French investment group Eurazeo, Idinvest Partners was founded in 1997 in Paris, France, as AGF Private Equity and operated as part of German multinational Allianz until 2010, when it became an independent entity. With additional offices in Madrid, Frankfurt, Shanghai and Dubai, Idinvest manages €8bn in assets and has invested in around 4,000 companies, with 75 exits. Romill Bettany is co-founder and Chief Business Development Officer at UK-based Modulous, the first end-to-end generative design and delivery solution for affordable, sustainable and modulized housing, where he has worked since 2018.  He was simultaneously director and co-founder at engineering consultancy Optimise, based in London and Dubai, where he worked  2012-20, and where the concept for Modulous was conceived. Prior to this, he worked for nine years at engineers Ramboll, part of the WhitbyBird group and was previously was a fire safety engineer at Australian engineering consultant WSP for almost four years. Bettany has worked on building projects globally ranging from airports to theaters.  

Established in 1958, VERSO Capital is a boutique merchant banking and financial services firm based in Luxembourg. It also has offices in Geneva, Fribourg, Vaduz, Dubai, Singapore and BVI. VERSO specializes in sectors like education, food and renewables. Since 2011, the firm has invested over $700bn in venture capital in the global startup ecosystem. Funds worth over $245m were pumped into climatech, foodtech and biotech sectors since 2017. In February 2021, it merged with Swiss alternative asset manager ALDINI Capital that was also founded in 1958 and based in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. VERSO will leverage the expertise of ALDINI in hedge funds, private equity and real estate.

The founder of Nasdaq-listed computer-based testing services firm ATA Education Group and Zhihuitianxia (Intelligent World), a supplier of science experiment kits and teaching materials for schools and kindergartens, Ma Xiaofeng is an economics graduate of Nanjing University.

Guo was named a Global Shaper by the World Economic Forum in 2014 and was on Forbes’ 2017 30 Under 30 Asia list. A graduate of the China Central Academy of Fine Arts, she has organized art exhibitions in countries such as Italy, Spain and Germany.

Based in San Mateo California, KBW Ventures was founded by HRH Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud. The asset management firm’s CEO is also the chairman of KBW Investments that was founded in 2013 in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).KBW Ventures is part of the KBW Group and mainly invests in companies involved in sustainable food, artificial intelligence, blockchain technologies and fintech. In 2019, the VC had already invested in 24 companies in sectors like e-gaming, drones, e-commerce and plant-based proteins. Recently, it also increased its stakes in two Californian biotechs BlueNalu and TurtleTree Labs. The aim is to open up the Middle East markets to global tech companies.

Established in 1985, venture capital firm DFJ has invested in more than 300 companies throughout the world. Its core funds have raised US$4 billion to date.
