An Economics graduate from the University of Tokyo in Japan, Tomonori Tsuji initially worked as a digital marketing consultant at ItoKuro Inc. He later worked in Singapore as a product manager at an online media management company Leapseas Pte Ltd. In 2013, he co-founded the price comparison website Pricebook, with university alumnus Ryoji Mori. Although headquartered in Japan, they decided to launch Pricebook in Indonesia. Tomonori is still on the Pricebook team as the CEO.

Ryoji Mori graduated in International Law from the University of Tokyo in Japan, but ended up as a highly skilled coder and web developer. After a brief stint in Singapore as a director of Application Development at Japan Internet Technologies Pte Ltd, he began to work freelance as a web developer. In 2013, he co-founded the price comparison website Pricebook with a university friend Tomonori Tsuji. However, Ryoji worked as CTO at Pricebook for only six months before leaving in December 2013.

Shahriansyah Candraditya graduated in 2015 from the Nagoya University of Foreign Studies, Japan, with a degree in Corporate Communications. He returned to Indonesia to join Shinwa Nonwoven Indonesia, a Japanese-owned fabrics manufacturer. He subsequently left to co-found aquaculture investment crowdfunding platform Growpal, where he is currently CMO.

Founded in 2012 in Japan, IMJ Investment Partners was a Singapore-based venture capital firm focusing on startups based in Southeast Asia and Japan. It had raised US$52 million in funding as a company under IMJ Corporation, one of the biggest digital agencies in Japan.  A new VC company Spiral Ventures Pte Ltd was established to takeover IMJ-IP after a successful management buyout led by IMJ-IP Managing Partner Yuji Horiguchi in 2017.

Ayu Purwarianti graduated with a bachelor's in Informatics from Indonesia's Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) in 1999 and has been an Informatics lecturer at her alma mater since 2001. She has since earned a master's in Informatics from ITB and a PhD in Computer Science from Toyohashi University of Technology, Japan. In December 2017, Ayu joined Prosa.ai as its chief scientist for natural language processing (NLP).

Founded in 2010, East Ventures is a venture capital firm with offices in Indonesia, Japan and USA. Today, the company has invested in over 150 companies across Asia, mainly Southeast Asia and Japan, and the USA. Its ticket size ranges from US$100,000 to US$500,000.

Founded in 2012 in Japan, Gunosy is a news curation application. 

Founded by the charismatic Japanese billionaire Masayoshi Son, SoftBank Group Corp is a multinational conglomerate with assets totaling about $342bn in 2020. SoftBank is best known in Japan for its mobile phone network and distribution business, and it was the sole distributor of the Apple iPhone in Japan until 2011. In October 2016, it teamed up with Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund to lead a $100bn tech fund, named Vision Fund. Through Vision Fund, SoftBank has made some major high-profile investments into tech companies, such as TikTok developer ByteDance, e-commerce platforms like Coupang, Tokopedia and Flipkart, and coworking operator WeWork.

The SBI-Xueda Education Fund is an education investment fund jointly set up by Japan-based SBI Holdings and China-based Xueda Education Group in 2018.

LINE Ventures is the venture capital arm of LINE Corporation, a mobile app and internet services company based in Japan. LINE Corp is, in turn, a subsidiary of the Korean internet conglomerate NAVER.

NAVER is a South Korean internet company that runs the country’s top search engine, as well as other internet services. One of its subsidiaries, LINE, is based in Japan and operates a popular instant messaging app.

Founded in 2011, Tokyo-based venture capital firm GREE Ventures focuses on investing in early stage (pre-Series A and Series A) internet and mobile companies. The firm invests in Japan, Southeast Asia, and other geographies within Asia.

Singapore/Japan-based venture capital firm Rebright Partners is backed by publicly listed Japanese internet companies and leading angel investors. The team operates in Tokyo, Singapore and Bangalore.

Hirokazu “Hiro” Mashita is a founder and director at M&S Partners Pte Ltd, a venture capital firm based in Singapore. A prolific business angel, he is known to have invested in more than 20 Indian startups in 2015 alone, earning him the nickname “Super Angel from Japan”.

Innovative Sports Investment (ISIN) focuses on the eSports sector, backing startups that develop disruptive technologies for athletes and investors through seed investment rounds. Led by Javier Morales, Ander Iñarrairaegui and Javier Colás, the firm also has international offices in Japan, South Korea, India, the US and Argentina.
