Its only declared investment has been in Valencian accessibility hardware and app for the deaf, Visualfy, to which it has contributed €520,000 in a 2021 seed funding round. It is also Visualfy’s distribution partner for the Andalucian region.

José Enrique Díaz Buzón graduated in law at the University of Seville in 1999. He has a qualification in EU law, and a master’s in business consultancy. In 2005, he also studied labor relations at IE Business School in Madrid.In 1999, Díaz began practicing as a lawyer, specializing in commercial and corporate law and business consultancy. In 2016, he became the CFO, business development manager and co-founder of Scoobic Urban Mobility. The Spanish mobility startup and the co-founding team’s Passion Motorbike Factory aim to provide three-wheeled EVs and sustainable last-mile delivery solutions.

Patrick Synge has lived in Spain for eight years since he left Britain after studying music at Warwick School. He has worked in sales since graduating from the University of the West of England. He started his sales career at Euro Sports Media and deVere Group.  Synge was the head of sales at food-delivery startup Degustabox before joining Eliport as co-founder and director of partnerships. He and co-founder Dmitry Skorinko created Eliport to solve the last-mile delivery problem by using autonomous delivery robots in local neighborhoods. Since March 2019, Synge has also joined Alias Robotics as VP for sales.

China’s first developer of self-driving robots, Zhen Robotics aims to revolutionize last-mile delivery.

UK-born serial entrepreneur Edward Hamilton founded his first tech startup, Lavalocker, in Barcelona in 2013 to provide on-demand laundry and dry-cleaning services. He later built on the smart-locker technology to establish Mayordomo that launched Smart Point in 2016, a digital vending system with smart lockers to offer personal shopping, delivery and pickups for over 200 categories of goods and services. Hamilton graduated in Business Administration from Berkeley, University of California in 2000. He worked for almost four years at WP Carey & Co in New York specializing in investments and acquisitions. In March 2006, he moved to London to work as a real estate equity investment manager at Barclay’s Capital. In 2010, he went to Spain to work as a Green Bean business coach for SMEs based in Barcelona. His latest venture is Droppo, which he co-founded in 2019. Based in Barcelona, Droppo is a zero-emission electric last-mile logistics transport network.

Yaiza Canosa Ferrío (b. 1993) is a native from O Birloque, A Coruña. The Universidad de A Coruña Business graduate has been working while studying since the age of 16. She co-founded business consultancy Glue Concept SL in 2014 while completing an MBA at EUDE Business School in Madrid. She became a partner of Glue’s co-working venture GlueWork in 2017.Canosa has also ventured into app-based businesses like local restaurants guide WithMenu and last-mile courier company GOI Travel SL. She was named by Forbes 30 under 30 as one of Europe’s most promising young entrepreneurs.

Jose María Gómez Marquez started his business career as CEO at Roder Spain from 1986–1994, manufacturing materials used in Expo 1992 in Seville. From 1998–2005, Gómez worked in business development for Climocubierta indoor swimming pool materials company in Seville. Since 1998, Gómez has also been running F1/MotoGP equipment supply company AMG Services as CEO and founder.He completed a master’s in business management in 2006 at San Telmo International Institute in Seville and became the managing partner of Seville-based engineering design company Arquingenia.In 2015, he co-founded Spanish mobility startup Scoobic Urban Mobility and became the CEO of the country’s first three-wheeled EV last-mile delivery logistics provider. He is also CEO of Passion Motorbike Factory.Between 2011 and 2015, Gómez was a director at Morocco-based EURoma Network, a transnational EU organization contributing to the promotion of social inclusion, equal opportunities and the fight against discrimination of the Roma community.

Via ID is a business incubator and investor with a presence in France, the US, Singapore, and Germany. It has supported 20 companies to date and its most recent investments include in the German healthy last-minute delivery service Gorillas’ $290m Series B round and in the €5.9m seed round of B2B German retail connection service Magaloop in March 2021.

Chris Bouwer is a Barcelona-based angel investor, active in the Spanish tech ecosystem and known for backing startups including Delivery Hero, Fanly and Airhelp. More recently, he was the lead investor in a funding round by Polaroo, a mobile app that manages and automates household payments, as well as investing in Cobee, a compensation and benefits management SaaS. He’s currently Board Advisor in Cellulant, a financial service provider providing digital payments in Africa. Bouwer has a background in sales, with his last key position as VP of Sales (2007–2015) in Adyen, a Dutch PSP services fintech he co-founded.

The Plantbase Foundation is a non-profit institution run by entrepreneur and impact investor Willem Blom based in The Netherlands. Most of the Plantbase activities are backed by donors. At least 80% of the donations are used to support enterprises that facilitate the shift from animal agriculture to a vegan lifestyle. The foundation has invested in foodtechs involved in the meat, fish and dairy industries; as well as food delivery and apps. Its portfolio includes fast-growing startups like Heura, Meatable, Livekindly and Mission Barns.
