As a fast-growing company, CompassList is seeking a passionate, professional and organized social media professional to manage and oversee the company’s social media strategy from planning to execution.

The Social Media Manager will work closely with our editorial, management and other teams to integrate our products across all social media channels and help articulate the strategic vision of the company, from branding and content creation to engagement and community building.

Job responsibilities
- Plan, develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies across multiple platforms to grow and build our audience while maintaining the quality and relationships of our followers
- Build and develop an effective end-to-end process that can support and enable the execution of the team’s work
- Coordinate and run the content calendar and ensure consistent brand messaging and clear communications across all channels
- Create compelling and engaging social content and new programs to reach and connect with audiences across all channels, spur social conversations and engagement, and drive community growth
- Use active social listening to monitor industry trends and audience sentiment, to gain insights for strategic decisions
- Develop an internal process to ensure prompt response to relevant comments, feedback and enquiries across all social channels
- Build and manage social ad campaigns and set monthly budget in line with strategic goals and objectives
- Monitor and analyze social media metrics, website traffic audience data to evaluate performance and guide and inform new strategies
- Build ongoing relationships with key partners, industry professionals and influencers
- Be an advocate for the brand in social spaces, sharing relevant content and engaging in dialogue
- Lead internal discussions and brainstorming sessions on social strategies, initiatives and trends
- Develop preemptive plans to manage and mitigate social media risk and crisis.
Requirements
Social media:
- At least 5 years of social media and/or digital marketing experience, ideally in the tech startup industry or in a news/content environment
- A proven track record of growing audiences, increased engagement and building social communities
- A deep passion for social listening for understanding audience sentiment, behavior as well emerging trends
- Proven experience in leveraging performance metrics, audience data to lead impactful social campaigns and launch new strategic initiatives
- Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills with experience cultivating strong relationships and working cross-functionally with different teams
- Excellent writing and copy-editing skills with the ability to transform CompassList content into brand- and industry-relevant social media conversations
- A strong understanding of web traffic analytics for analyzing conversion rates
Culture:
- Passion and keen understanding of the tech startup sector and culture, and is in tune with the latest industry trends and updates
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced startup environment is preferred
Technical skills:
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms and best practices as well as technical understanding of metrics, tracking and KPIs
- Strong understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics
- Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and other design software tools is preferred
- Experience with copywriting is a plus
Terms
- The terms will depend on the candidates’ experience and qualifications.
- This is a long-term freelance position that requires a full-time equivalent input of 40 hours per week.
