François Derbaix is a serial entrepreneur and angel investor. In 1997, he began his career in business as a consultant for The Boston Consulting Group. He moved quickly into entrepreneurship. In 2000, he founded Toprural, a rural tourism platform that operates in 10 countries and earned €5m in 2009. In 2012, Toprural was acquired by HomeAway.He also co-founded Rentalia (acquired by Idealista in 2012), Indexa Capital, Bewa7er, Soysuper and Aplazame.Since leaving entrepreneurship, Derbaix has dedicated his time to supporting new internet projects as an angel investor in Spanish tech startups such as Kantox and Deporvillage.

It also helps SME and big corporations in their digital transformation.  Its founder and CEO is Marc Costacela, one of Atomian’s advisors. 

Shenzhen Guozhong Venture Capital Management Co., Ltd. (GZVCM) was founded in December 2015. Chief Partner and CEO Shi Anping previously served as vice president at Shenzhen Venture Capital Group. GZVCM is currently entrusted to operate the state-backed Small Medium Enterprises Development Fund, which has RMB 60bn under management.

The firm's objective is to offer diversified and transparent investments with commissions that are 80% lower than those charged by the financial sector. AIA Group is the largest independent publicly listed pan-Asian life insurance group. Headquartered in Hong Kong, the group operates in 18 markets across Asia-Pacific. In 2014, AIA began to partner with venture capital firms to launch AIA Accelerator to support innovative and disruptive startups.AIA Group was originally founded in Shanghai, under the name of American Asiatic Underwriters. Founded in October 2013, JD Finance was renamed as JD Digits in November 2018. The fintech arm of Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com focuses on applying digital technology, artificial intelligence and IoT in five sectors: finance, smart cities, agriculture, campus development and marketing.The company manages five sub-brands: JD Finance, JD iCity, JD Agriculture, JD Shaodongjia, and JD MO Media. In September 2017, a joint venture was established with Central Group, one of Thailand’s biggest retailers. In December 2017, JD Digits also started operating an AI lab in Silicon Valley.

Asabys Partners is a VC firm based in Barcelona and invests mainly in the healthtech and biopharma industries. Backed by Sabadell Bank, the VC now has offices in Spain, UK, Switzerland and Israel. Verlinvest is the investment diversification vehicle of the de Spoelberch family, the Belgian noble house, which founded the AB InBev beverage conglomerate. Founded in 1995, it currently manages over €1.6bn in assets across multiple geographies, including Europe, India, Southeast Asia and Latin America. Aside from investing in various F&B brands like Vita Coco (coconut water), F&B Asia (which operates various restaurant franchise brands in Southeast Asia) and Glaceau Vitamin Water, it has also backed e-commerce businesses like Global Fashion Group and Lazada, as well as Indian edtech platform Byju’s. 

Mubadala was founded in 2017 and was directly listed as a Public Joint Stock Company, merging the Mubadala Development Company and the International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC).Mubadala is owned by the government of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with approximately $299bn assets under management and operations across 50 countries. Mubadala owns the Advanced Technology Investment Company (ATIC), a firm acting as an investment vehicle in high technology sectors.

Elaia' focusses on digital and deeptech companies in their seed and growth phases. The firm’s portfolio includes 19 exited companies like Criteo and over 60 investments with a total of €350 million under management.The firm was founded in Paris in 2002 by a group of four professionals in the technology sector, private equity and operations with a cumulative experience of 75 years in investment and financing. 

Oil and Gas Climate Initiative (OGCI) Climate Investments is a $1bn fund investing in innovative startups with solutions aimed at decarbonizing the oil and gas sectors and transportation, as well as those that recycle and store CO2 and reduce related emissions.Members of the organization are big players of the oil and gas industry representing more than 30% of global operated oil and gas production. These companies include Shell, Total, BP, Chevron, CNPC, Petrobras, Repsol, Eni, Equinor, ExxonMobil, Occidental and Saudi Aramco.
