According to the Good Food Institute, a record $3.1bn has been invested globally in alternative proteins since 2020. APAC is the fastest-growing region and investments continue to flow into the foodtech and alternative protein sectors, a trend that was accelerated by the Covid-19 pandemic. Singapore-based Shoik Meats raised a $12.6m Series A round in 2020.
