OneRagtime is a platform that brings together ventures, startups and advisory services, providing access to capital, industry expertise and operational resources. It also uses a fully-digitalized investment process for its users to carry out due diligence and negotiations. Founded in 2014 by Stéphanie Hospital and Jean-Marie Messier, One Ragtime is headquartered in London with offices in Paris and Barcelona. The company’s mentors include Josep Solé and Laurence Bret, who advise Spanish/Latin American and European technology companies, respectively.

Diego Ballesteros is one of Spain's most prominent serial entrepreneurs and business angels, backing some of the most successful acquisitions in Spain and Latin America. He made his first disclosed investment in 2016, as an angel investor of Spanish femtech WOOM’s pre-seed and seed funding rounds. He is currently the sole founder of Bewe SaaS for beauty and wellness professionals.Ballesteros started his first enterprise in 1997, an online classified ads platform Ocioteca.com and also MundoSalud that was acquired by Sanitas of Bupa Group.  Cabify and co-investments with Seaya Ventures also form part of his investment portfolio. One of his biggest successes is on-demand food delivery platform SinDelantal with operations in Spain and Mexico. In 2013, the Spanish delivery company was acquired by Just Eat that later also bought the Mexican company in 2015.

Based in Linz, Klaus Hofbauer is an angel investor via his investment vehicle HOKL Ventures and the co-founder and CEO of Austria’s leading career job portal Karriere.at, established in 2004. As an angel investor, Hofbauer’s investments have included agriculture marketplace Markta, second-hand electronics marketplace Refurbed and leisure fishing booking site Hejfish. As a shareholder, he  joined Refurbed as a board member in 2020.

Mehak Mumtaz grew up in Pakistan and decided to study biochemistry when she saw her brother suffering from an unknown learning disability. Her parents, both medical doctors, could not get an accurate diagnosis for their son.  In her search to understand the molecular mechanisms behind diseases, she applied to study at the University of Oxford. In 2008, she was granted the Reach Oxford Scholarship and graduated with a master’s in biochemistry in 2012. In 2015, the St Hilda’s alumna worked as an undergraduate tutor at Oxford while completing a PhD in pathology, specializing in oncology and cancer biology.In 2018, she worked on a rare cancer project as EIT Health Business Innovation fellow for a year. She left academia and joined a three-month bioentrepreneur bootcamp in Munich and a one-month Lev8 Woman Program at her alma mater’s Oxford Foundry. She joined EY-Parthenon in London as a strategy consultant in April 2019.In 2019, Mumtaz also met the iLoF co-founding team at the EIT Health Wild Card venture-building program. iLoF is a medtech startup that focuses on personalized medicine through the use of AI and photonics to create optical fingerprints in a cloud-based library to gather and manages disease biomarkers and biological profiles.She joined iLoF as COO and co-founder in December 2019 and left her full-time consultancy role at EY in March 2020.

The Craftory is a London-based investment house with a satellite office in San Francisco. Founded in 2018 by retail and media industry veterans Ernesto Schmitt and Ellio Leoni Sceti, the firm has made seven investments in various consumer goods brands. Sceti is also the chairman of London-based family VC firm LSG Holdings, with his brother Patrick as the MD.The Craftory’s $375m fund specializes in building a new investment house of consumer brands, hence its name from the words, “craft" and “factory.” It mainly offers permanent and growth capital to consumer packaged goods (CPG) brands. The Craftory supports CPG challenger brands to help them to grow from “craft” businesses to sustainable, mass CPG brands, offering consumers better choices for everyday products.

Andrew McCollum is CEO of television streaming service Philo and was also one of its earliest investors. Prior to that, he was one of the co-founders of Facebook. He served as an entrepreneur in residence at two of Philo’s investors, the US-based VC firms New Enterprise Associates and Flybridge Partners, and is also an early-stage angel investor himself.His last disclosed investments were in 2015, in US-based unicorn Diamond Foundry, the first certified carbon-neutral lab-produced diamond manufacturer, as well as in breastfeeding app Moxxly’s undisclosed seed round prior to it being acquired by Medela.

Kingfisher is a privately owned, and independently managed financial services firm active for nearly three decades. The firm was established in Charlotte in the US in 1989 and acquired by WealthTrust, LLC in 2004. In 2009, it returned to operate as an independent investment adviser under the name of Kingfisher Capital, LLC and purchased all outstanding ownership interest from WealthTrust LLC. Kingfisher has supported affluent families, professionals, business owners, and institutions through financial advisory, smart investments and personalized client service.The firm is currently led by managing partners and co-founders Alexander Miles and H K Hallett. Prior to founding Kingfisher,  Miles worked at WealthTrust Advisors, the Myers Limited Partnerships and Lehman Brothers in New York. Hallett worked for Trust Company Bank of Georgia and Peoples Bank of North Carolina before joining Carolina Securities Corporation, where he co-managed the Charlotte office. 

PayPal is the US-based online payments company founded in 1999 and acquired by eBay in 2002. It is listed in NASDAQ under the ticker code PYPL.Besides facilitating online payments and money transfers for many e-commerce companies and other internet-based businesses, it is famous for its network of former founders and other alumni, many of whom went on to establish successful companies or became investors in the tech and internet industries. Some famous names linked to this network, sometimes called “PayPal Mafia”, include ex-CEO Peter Thiel, Elon Musk, Dave McClure (founder of 500 Startups), and Reid Hoffman (LinkedIn co-founder).PayPal has invested in several companies, including ride-hailing firms Gojek and Uber and e-commerce platform MercadoLibre. It has also established PayPal Ventures as a separate VC arm and PayPal Incubator to support early-stage startups.
