CMB International is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Merchants Bank. It has two private equity funds. The first, based in Shenzhen, was founded in 2017, and the second, based in Hong Kong, was founded in 2010. CMB International's Shenzhen division invests in the internet, healthcare, automobile, new energy and consumption sectors.

Founded in 1980, Western Technology Investment invests in tech and life science startups. To date, it has invested over $6bn in 1,300 companies worldwide across diverse market segments.The Silicon Valley-based WTI currently has more than 500 companies in its global portfolio. Recent investments include US anti-aging medtech Elevio’s $15m funding in November 2020 and the $4.3m seed round in August 2020 for US fintech for teens Copper Banking.

Huang is co-founder and CEO of TTPOD, a cross-platform music player. He co-founded TTPOD in 2007, which, by 2013, had accumulated 200 million users and was subsequently sold to Alibaba Group. In 2015, Huang became COO of Baofeng Mojing, a VR device creator controlled by Shenzhen-listed internet company Baofeng Group. In 2016, Baofeng Mojing sold 2 million VR devices. Huang participated in Kuaipeilian's seed funding round.

Established in 2017, Educapital invests in edtech, HR and training tech startups. The French VC has stakes in 19 companies, mostly based in Europe, including participation in the €5m Series B funding of French Supermood, a contractor’s workplace engagement tool.In the edtech space, Educapital has recently joined a R$1.7m seed investment round for Brazilian edtech Blox and a €10m Series B round for Preply, a Ukrainian edtech specializing in online language learning.

Founded in 2016, Paris-based Future Positive Capital invests in European startups in deep tech and biotechnology to solve major problems, with funding for only 20 portfolio startups.  It has backed eight startups to date with its most recent investments being in the April 2021 undisclosed €5.2m funding round of French renewable energytech SWEETCH Energy and in the £7.9m Series A round of British ecosystem restoration technology Dendra Systems in September 2020. 

Founded in 2011 in Leipzig, Monkfish Equity offers a hands-off investment approach, providing funding of €0.5m–€2m to enterprises across market segments in Germany, other European countries and the US.The firm is run by the co-founders of travel and hotel platform Trivago. Monkfish’s portfolio of 12 companies mainly comprises businesses in the B2C markets. Investments include the $54m Series B round of Austrian marketplace Refurbed in August 2021 and the €8m Series A round of Inne, a German fertility-tracking platform in October 2019.

Former private equity partner and intellectual property lawyer with over a decade of experience, whose clients included Google, Microsoft, and venture capital funds. A councilor of the Shanghai branch of the All-China Youth Federation, Guo holds an EMBA from PBC School of Finance, Tsinghua University.

Despite his young age, Aruna Harsa has dabbled in developing various apps while still at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. He exited a SaaS apps building solutions startup Dashell after two years in 2014.The Mathematics and Economics graduate then went on to develop an on-demand beauty services app Vanitee, but left the startup after only eight months when its Series A funding closed in 2015. Based in Singapore, the serial techpreneur is now co-founder and CTO of home decor and furniture e-commerce site Dekoruma.

Jonatan Gomes da Silva is the CMO and co-founder of cloud-based fintech Sheetgo. The Brazilian is an IT specialist based in Santa Caterina, Brazil. He has three degrees from two Brazilian universities and the think-tank Fundacao Getulio Vargas in Project Management, Web Programming and Computer Networks. He had previously worked at Moon Tools as a project manager. He was also a technology manager at Abramar Construtora. Both companies were run by fellow co-founder Yannick Rault van der Vaart.

Founded in Bayern in 2009, SevenVentures GmbH provides Media-for-Equity and Media-for-Revenue investment models to companies with a minimum turnover of €5m. The firm secures TV media coverage and cash payments for its investees, as the investment arm of German media group ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE that has a total monthly TV audience of 60m across seven free channels.In 2019, SevenVentures provided 1,000 advertising hours to 70 businesses. The firm’s media contributions are worth the equivalent of €3m–30m over a period of two to four years. SevenVentures also runs the SevenAccelerator and currently has 18 active portfolio companies. Recent investments in 2021 include the $54m Series B round of Austrian refurbished electronics goods marketplace Refurbed in August and the €35m funding round for German telemedicine platform Wellster Healthtech Group in June.

Challengers Capital was founded in 2014. Its founding partners are angel investors Xie Xianlin and Tang Binsen. It manages three RMB funds with around RMB 2 billion in management.Challengers Capital focuses on areas like consumption upgrade, entertainment, gaming, enterprise services and fintech.

Founded in 2010, Greenwoods Investment has invested in over 60 startups, with three RMB-denominated PE funds and two USD PE funds under management.

A Cambridge-based investor, founded in 2006, that exists to support spin-off companies created at the city’s university with an emphasis on social impact.  It currently has 57 companies in its portfolio, almost entirely in the areas of life and physical sciences, which have, in total, raised over £2bn in further investment and grant funding.Its most recent investments include in the June 2021 £3m seed round of Gallium Nitride semiconductor engineering company Porotech and in the January 2021 $20m Series A round of quantum computing innovators Riverlane. 

Founded in 2015, Shenzhen Qianhai Dunray Capital Management Co., Ltd., manages four funds and has paid-in capital of RMB 10 million.

Karaniya Dharmasaputra is a media industry veteran, trained in public policy and communications-related affairs. He was managing editor at TEMPO, an Indonesian news magazine and had a brief stint as a broadcast journalist with Voice of America (VOA). In 2008, Karaniya left TEMPO to establish VIVA, a news and entertainment portal. He subsequently moved on from VIVA in 2013 to establish Bareksa, an online investment portal dedicated to mutual funds.Karaniya is also President Director of KLY Digital Media Group, a holding company for digital content platforms owned by Emtek.
