Based in Sofia, BrightCap ventures is an early-stage VC supported by the European Investment Fund and Ministry of Economy of Bulgaria. Founded in 2018, the company has invested in seven startups based in various countries across market verticals. To date, it has managed one exit for London-based Cloudpipes, a cloud integration as a service manager.Its most recent investments include co-leading a post-seed round with Begin Capital to raise €2m for Spanish femtech Woom and a funding round for Enview, a 3D geospacial analytics company based in the US.

Alexander von Schirmeister is an angel investor and Executive VP Europe of mobile payments company SumUp. In 2017, he participated in the first seed round of Spanish AI-driven femtech Woom, his only disclosed investment to date.The German native has worked at Spanish telco Telefonica and held various executive roles in the US. He was a manager at eBay and became an executive director on the Board of eBay International.

IDC Ventures is the VC arm of Grupo IDC, a Latin American investment bank. The fund was created in 2019 by corporate executives, entrepreneurs and investors from Latin America, focused on pre-Series A to Series B rounds. Headquartered in Madrid with offices in Copenhagen and Guatemala, the company acts as an international VC working with tech companies to accelerate expansion across LatAm markets. The team is based in Ukraine, supporting portfolio startups in building cost-effective R&D Centers in Ukraine.

Maniv Mobility is an Israel-based venture capitalist firm, focused mainly on mobility, automotive, transportation and logistic solutions. The fund is backed by venture arms of BMW, Hyundai, LG Electronics, the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, Shell and Valeo amongst others. Headquartered in Isreal, in Tel Aviv a city that is growing in the mobility space with an increasing number of automotive venture arms.Maniv Mobility operates since 2016 with an initial funding capital of $44mn and a further capital injection in 2019 of $100mn. With an international investment portfolio and global ambitions, the firm has built over the years strategic partners in Europe, North America, Israel looking for long term expansion in Asian markets.The company has been within the VCs that backed Drive.ai, the autonomous vehicle startup later acquired by Apple.  

DCP Capital is an international private equity firm that mainly invests in Asia. The DCP team previously led KKR and Morgan Stanley’s private equity businesses in Asia. Over the past 27 years, it has invested in a number of leading enterprises including Ping An Insurance, Mengniu Dairy, CICC and Haier Electronics. Its existing investors include leading sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, endowments, family offices and funds of funds (FOF) across the world.In April 2019, DCP successfully raised over $2bn for its first Greater China-focused USD fund known as DCP Capital Partners I. The fund mainly invests in diverse sectors including consumer goods, industrial technology, healthcare, agrifood, enterprise tech, financial services and technology, media & telecom (TMT).

Ocean Link is a private equity firm that mainly invests in consumer goods, tourism and TMT sectors in China. It currently manages two USD funds and one RMB fund. It has offices in Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong. The limited partners include Chinese and global corporates, financial institutions, sovereign wealth funds and family offices. Juan Jose Juste Ortega is an economist with a long career in the banking and financial sector. He held executive roles in multiple banks such as Lloyds Banking Group and Citi, and was Director of Chase and Société Générale in Madrid. For over 10 years, he worked as general subdirector in Caja Madrid. Concurrently, he was CEO and Executive President of the CIFI, a non-bank institution experienced in financing infrastructure and energy in Latin America and the Caribbean. From 2015 to 2018, Juste Ortega was Director of Read Madrid football clubHe is currently diversifying his investments by backing Spanish tech startups.

Adevinta Ventures is the investment arm of the Norway-based Adevinta, a local digital marketplace group operating in 15 countries in Europe, Latin America and North Africa, with 1.5bn monthly visitors. Its leading local brands include Leboncoin in France, InfoJobs in Spain, Subito in Italy and Jofogás in Hungary. In Spain, where its headquarters is in Barcelona, the company includes an umbrella of successful online classified platforms such as Infojobs, Fotocasa, Habitaclia, Milanuncios and Vibbo, counting over 18m active users.Adevinta Ventures invests in startups focused on marketplace and platform space specifically in verticals such as mobility, education and real estate. The fund typically invests in Series A and B rounds backing them also with marketing and data support as well as mentorship. Initial investments go up to €5m with follow-on capacity. 

Founded in 2010, Fidelity China Special Situations PLC (FCSS) is managed by Dale Nicholls who has worked at Fidelity International since 1996. Listed on the FTSE 250 Index, FCSS is said to be the UK’s largest China-focused investment trust with access to Fidelity's investment research resources and investment licenses in China.Focusing on companies that are most likely to benefit from China’s growth and changing economy, FCSS has invested in over 100 businesses in the country. Besides technology, it is also seeking opportunities in the consumer space and healthcare.

Early-stage-focused VC firm with a €24m first fund mainly investing in B2B and B2C digital startups headquartered in Spain. Initial investment amounts range between €70,000 and €300,000, and followup investment amounts go up to €1m per company. Describing themselves as “momentum investors” seeking quick time-to-market projects, Encomenda Smart Capital was founded in 2017 and managed by renowned Spanish angel investors Carlos Blanco, Oriol Juncosa and Miguel Sanz Sanchez, along with a network of angel investors  Encomenda supports the growth of startups' portfolios and helps startups to scale at national and international levels. Encomenda invests 30% in SaaS and in projects with a recurring income model; 20% are fintech, and they also bet on the human resources, edtech and healthcare. Just two out of 25 investments have folded up between 2017 and 2020, with half the fund monies committed. Encomenda is seeking to launch a second fund in 2022 focusing on Spanish and Portuguese startups, of €40m–€50m, and multi-stage, by starting in the early-stage investments, with follow-through investments in subsequent stages.

Clime Capital is a clean energy-focused investment firm based in Singapore with a focus on early-stage companies. In June 2020, the VC launched the Southeast Asia Clean Energy Facility (SEACEF), a fund backed by philanthropic donors to support early-stage companies in commercializing clean energy solutions. The initial fund is valued at $10m. SEACEF’s first investment is in Xurya, an Indonesian startup providing solar power system leasing to commercial customers.

Founded in October 1995, CITIC Securities is China's first securities company listed in Shanghai and the Hong Kong. CITIC is its major shareholder, with 15.47% stake in it. The company provides services from securities trading, brokerage, asset management to investment banking. In 2013, CITIC Securities acquired CLSA to extend its international businesses. With branches in 13 countries and regions, it now has over 40,000 business clients and more than 10.3m individual customers home and abroad.
