A programmer turned management executive, Furia Agustinus has over 16 years of work experience in the US and in Indonesia. After graduating with a bachelor’s in Computer Science in 2001 from Cornell University, USA, Furia worked as a programmer for Oracle for three years.In 2004, he returned home to work at Indonesian bank BCA and AIA Financial. In 2013, he joined PT Surya Semesta Internusa Tbk and was part of the co-founding team that built the company’s new tech subsidiary that was later branded as Travelio. He left Travelio in 2016.

Highly successful serial entrepreneur Justin Luo has co-founded major real estate media company Sina Leju and China Real Estate Information Group, which went on to list on Nasdaq, and more recently, Tujia. He has a degree in accounting from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.

A former senior executive at Microsoft’s Bing and Expedia, Melissa Yang founded online holiday apartment leasing company Escapia, which was later acquired by HomeAway, in the US during the 2000s, and was its CTO. In 2011, she co-founded Tujia with Justin Luo (Luo Jun). She is a graduate of Tsinghua University and the University of Washington.

A former computer programmer turned investment banker, Liu Yuan spent two years on Wall Street before returning to China, where he founded two startups, zhekouwang (a discount information site) and ximi.com (online store selling snacks to office workers). Ben Soebiakto first became an entrepreneur in 2005 by founding the Octovate Group, a tech incubator for the creative industry. A graduate in Visual Communications from Universitas Trisakti in Indonesia, he also co-founded XM Gravity that later became part of the global advertising company WPP. Ben also founded a multichannel women content media Fimela and was also the CMO of KapanLagi Network, one of Indonesia’s major online content producers. He joined Muslimarket in February 2016.

With a degree in electrical engineering from UCLA and a master’s from Stanford University, Jonathan Sun has rich experience in the IT industry worldwide.  He used to work at Lockheed Martin and Yahoo, and is the former CTO of 1pai (an online auction site by Yahoo and Sina) and iKang (a leading healthcare management company in China).  

Armed with a decade of experience in journalism and media before founding Mobike, the 34-year-old Hu Weiwei also founded GeekCar, a new media automobile and technology company, in 2010. She used to write for the National Business Daily, The Beijing News, Business Value and Geek Park. She is a graduate of Zhejiang University.

Zhang Yongqi was the first in China to sell books and training programs for IELTS (International English Language Testing System), the world’s most popular English language test. He went on to set up Global Education & Technology Group, which ran 450 IELTS centers in 60 cities and listed on Nasdaq. Zhang sold the company in 2011 to the Pearson Group for US$294 million. The former Honeywell agent is now highly influential in education and training. He is a member of the Beijing Democratic League.

The founder of Nasdaq-listed computer-based testing services firm ATA Education Group and Zhihuitianxia (Intelligent World), a supplier of science experiment kits and teaching materials for schools and kindergartens, Ma Xiaofeng is an economics graduate of Nanjing University.

A self-taught cybersecurity enthusiast, Wenas Agusetiawan was able to hack into various Indonesian and Singaporean networks at a young age. Luckily, he was 16 and escaped with only a penalty fine whilst living with his family in Singapore. He left to study in Australia and eventually became an IT professional. Wenas graduated in 2008 with a bachelor’s in Computer Science from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, Canada. He founded software developer PhaseDev, gaming platform Bouncity and e-book distributor WayangForce. In 2011, he co-founded Tiket.com but stepped down as CEO after the acquisition by Blibli in 2017.

Dimas Surya Yaputra created an online auction website Swinde in 2009, while reading a degree in Global Corporate Finance at Universitas Pelita Harapan in Indonesia. Unfortunately, he had to close down Swinde a year later. After graduating in 2011, he joined forces with Wenas Agusetiawan at Tiket.com, Bouncity Network and WayangForce. They later exited Bouncity and WayangForce to focus on scaling up Tiket.com, with Dimas as the Chief Commercial Officer.

Mikhael Geary Undarsa is armed with both IT skills and business administration experience. He graduated in 2007 with a bachelor’s in Computer Science and Business Administration from Simon Fraser University in Canada.He then worked as a business analyst at HSBC Canada for almost a year before moving on to join IBM Canada as an IT specialist. After three years working on web-based commerce projects, Mikhael returned to Indonesia to join PT Phase Solusindo  and Tiket.com. He left PT Phase to become Tiket.com’s Chief Communication Officer.

Natali Ardianto is a fast and skilled web developer with over 16 years of programming experience. He worked as an IT instructor and as a web developer while reading a degree in Computer Science and a master’s in Information Technology at Universitas Indonesia.He and colleagues had built a golf booking platform in just three months in 2010. He left Golfnesia in 2011 to help launch Tiket.com within 100 days of co-founding the startup. He had also co-founded Urbanesia in 2008, but left the urban lifestyle directory in 2010 before it was acquired by the Kompas Group in 2012.

Data services veteran Huang Haijia was the director of the Chinese government’s first online project in 1998; and the co-founder and former COO of ID5, set up in cooperation with the national police, for online identification checks and involving the digitization of ID data of the 1.3 billion population.  In 2001, Huang founded Guozhengtong, an IT consultancy supporting local governments in their digitization and, subsequently, banks and telcos. He later founded financial data and credit risk management SaaS company Shenzhourong, which he heads as CEO. Huang holds an EMBA from the Central European International Business School. He is also a member of the fifth batch of entrepreneurs from the incubation program of AAMA (Asia America Multi-Technology Association), Silicon Valley's largest non-profit organization dedicated to the Asian American high-tech community.
