At the age of 19, Alvin Yap started his first business while studying at Ngee Ann Polytechnic in Singapore. The retail venture for customized phone screen covers was dissolved after one year in 2005. The young business student had also worked at McDonald's, becoming a crew leader within the first year in 2001.During his national service as a platoon sergeant in 2008, Alvin and friends often joined and won several business enterprise competitions. Alvin went on to set up mobile games portal TheMobileGamer that lasted for over six years until April 2015. Laku6 was established a month later.

Nelson Pereira graduated in Graphic and Industrial Design at Aveiro University in 2005 and obtained a master’s in Engineering Design from the University of Porto in 2009. He also spent a year studying Digital Communications and Multimedia at the University of Porto in 2012.He has worked as a designer and brand manager for INEGI Porto for over nine years until 2015. He founded his first enterprise TOP Research in 2012 that later evolved into TOPDOX. Pereira currently works for Dropbox and Xpand IT. He is also co-founder and CEO of ikuTeam, a file-sharing developer for Atlassian Marketplace.  

Chongqing Environmental Fund was established by China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the Chongqing Municipal Government in June 2015. As of late December 2018, the fund has invested RMB 448m in 28 projects. It has launched 13 funds with a total capital of about RMB 8bn. 

Established in Shanghai in 2011, PreAngel Fund has set up six funds with a total of RMB 600 million in assets under management. So far, the firm has invested RMB 300 million in over 300 Chinese and American tech companies in the fields of mobile internet, hardware, healthcare, finance, insurance, e-commerce, sports, among others.

Founded in 2018, Trinity Innovation Fund is a fund management firm that mainly invests in pharmaceutical innovations. TIF currently manages two PE funds and its limited partners include renowned pharmaceuticals and institutional investors. It also has offices managing funds overseas, for example, Trinity Innovation Bioventure Singapore Pte Ltd.

Kukuh Budi Santoso graduated from Indonesia’s Universitas Brawijaya with a degree in Agriculture. While at university, he was an active in student organizations such as the IAAS (an international organization of agriculture students) and founded social enterprises. Prior to co-founding agri-investment platform Tanijoy, Kukuh ran Escape.id, a community-based tourism business.

Before co-founding Ximalaya with Yu Jianjun, Chen Xiaoyu worked as an investment director at one of Thailand's largest conglomerates, Charoen Pokphand Group, in its China office. There, she supervised the Group’s investments in internet startups. With seed funding from the Group in 2009, Chen and Yu Jianjun founded their first startup, Na Li Shi Jie, building online virtual city maps. Though the business failed after two years, they utilised the rich experience they gained and founded the much more successful Ximalaya in 2012.

SoftBank announced its second Vision Fund of about $108bn in July 2019 to invest in technology startups across the world. SoftBank had originally planned to contribute $38bn to the new fund. However, its Vision Fund I was badly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and losses resulting in lower valuations of its investments in Uber and WeWork.In February 2020, the Japanese conglomerate decided to inject more money into the Vision Fund II before raising new funds from other LPs. With $10bn committed to the second fund by the SoftBank Group, the new fund has now invested in 13 portfolio companies including co-leading the Series C round for XAG in November 2020.

Beijing-based Telescope Investments is a VC/PE firm, investing primarily in consumer, supply chain, education, and healthcare sectors. Telescope is founded by Du Yucun, former CEO of Tianjin HomeWorld Group, a Chinese supermarket chain, and SAIF Partners. Du Yucun is the son of Du Sha, one of China’s most well-known and respected entrepreneurs. Du Sha is the founder and chairman of Pacific Links, a former acclaimed Professor of Economics at the Nankai University, and founder of HomeWorld Group. Yucun, former CEO of Tianjin HomeWorld Group, a Chinese supermarket chain, and SAIF Partners. Du Yucun is the son of Du Sha, one of China’s most well-known and respected entrepreneurs. Du Sha is the founder and chairman of Pacific Links, a former acclaimed Professor of Economics at the Nankai University, and founder of HomeWorld Group. Paundra Noorbaskoro established Growpal, an investment crowdfunding startup for the aquaculture and fishery industry, after being inspired by his experiences as a student in Indonesia and Hawaii. Equipped with a degree in Aquaculture from Indonesia’s Universitas Brawijaya, Paundra serves as the company’s Chief Product Officer.

Kevin Lee is an ex-Googler and co-founder of Ajaib, an online investment advisory startup. In 2016, he graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor’s in computer science. Upon graduation, he joined Google as a software engineer with the Google Assistant development team. Two years later, he joined university schoolmate Anderson Sumarli to establish Ajaib.

Headquartered in Zhengzhou, China Reform TUS Fund is China's first capital management fund. Jointly backed by state-level venture capital funds, top Chinese universities and the provincial government, it invests primarily in new energy, healthcare and information technology.

New York-based Humboldt Fund invests in startups with the potential to solve critical issues of our time across the areas of food production, healthcare, energy, and construction and manufacturing materials. It currently has 14 companies in its portfolio.  Its most recent investments include in the March 2021 $48m Series A round of Dutch cell-based meat startup Meatable which leverages pluripotent stem cells for the first time in foodtech, and in the February 2021 $16m seed round of US biotech Cellino Biotech. 

Launched in 2018, Everbright New Economy USD Fund (New Economy Fund) is under the umbrella of China Everbright, a Hong Kong-listed financial conglomerate. The New Economy Fund started from an inaugural fund of US$483m, with US$150m from Bahrain-based asset manager Investcorp. It invests mainly in the e-commerce, smart retail and artificial intelligence sectors. In November 2019, China Everbright and Investcorp announced they will co-manage Investcorp New Economy Fund I and explore the opportunity to establish a successor private equity fund, jointly managed by the two parties, that will target China’s tech sector.

United Fund was founded in 2015 to provide Zhejiang's SME businesses with support in financing, business collaborations, operations and management. It now manages total of assets worth RMB 3bn.
