Lei Ming graduated from Peking University (PKU) with a master's degree in Computer Science. While at university, he was a member of the PKU Sky Network search engine program. In 2000, Lei became one of the seven founding members of Baidu, where he led the search engine design and development team. Lei received his MBA from Stanford Business School in 2003. In 2005, he returned to China and started Kuwo Music, now one of the largest music platforms in China. As an angel investor, Lei focuses on the sectors of AI, consumption, education, medical services and entertainment.

Shangshi Capital was founded and headquartered in Beijing in 2014. It has branch offices in Shenzhen and San Francisco. The firm manages two US dollar funds and three RMB funds, totaling over RMB 1.5bn. It has invested in over 60 startups at home and abroad, mainly in digital healthcare, consumer goods, IoT and enterprise tech.

Founded in 2005, Fortune Link focuses on private equity investment. Its founder, Kan Zhidong was also the founder of Shenzhen Capital Group,  one of the first few venture capitalists in China. As at March 2018, it had set up a number of funds and managed over 20 investment teams.With over RMB 30bn worth of assets under its management, Fortune Link mainly invests in sectors including TMT, environmental protection, advanced material, healthcare, high tech industries, culture and media.

GF Qianhe is an equity investment company launched by GF Securities in May 2012. Incorporated as Guangfa Qianhe Investments Co Ltd, with a registered capital of RMB 500m, the company was one of the earliest alternative investment companies to gain approval from the Securities Commission of China. As of late 2018, GF Qianhe has invested in 86 equity-related projects, among which four have gone public. By the end of 2014, its total investment value reached almost RMB 2bn and revenues of over RMB 340m.

CAS Star was established in September 2013 in Xi’an by several VC firms and the Xi’an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics of Chinese Academy of Sciences. The high-tech startup incubator has also set up a RMB 5.2bn Xike Angel fund to specialize in the commercialization of the high-tech research projects. To date, Xike Angel has a portfolio of more than 230 startups with a total value of RMB 20bn. 

Founded by former IDG Capital partner Zhang Suyang in May 2016, the Shanghai-based VC firm invests mainly in early-stage startups working on tech innovations and healthcare. Total assets under management exceed RMB 2.2bn.

Based in Shanghai, Sharewin Investment was founded in 2005. In 2010, the company changed its focus from PE to VC. It invests mainly in the healthcare, TMT, new material, advanced manufacturing, arts and entertainment and consumer products sectors.

Xiyee Assets was founded in 2016 and headquartered in Beijing. The firm is involved in private equity investment, M&A, restructuring, real estate and disposal of non-performing assets. It mainly invests in sectors such as advanced manufacturing, new energy, environmental protection, medtech and healthcare.

Headquartered in Shanghai, FC Capital was founded in 2017 to focus on investments in China and the US. The VC mainly invests in medtech sectors like biotechnology, medical devices, medical services and health-related consumer products.

Baiyang Capital was founded in 2014 by BAHEAL Pharmaceutical Holdings Limited and several senior professionals in the pharmaceutical and healthcare fields. The investment management company operates multiple funds, targeting pharmaceutical and healthcare businesses.

Founded in 2002, Bluesail was initially known as a manufacturer of PVC gloves, with an annual capacity of tens of billions of pairs at its peak. At the end of 2012, it began to expand into more health-related areas.In 2018, it acquired a 93.37% stake in Biosensors International Group that specializes in developing, manufacturing and licensing technologies for use in interventional cardiology procedures and critical care. The two companies were merged and Bluesail began to produce more high-end medical consumables. In 2019, the company and senior executives invested in CH Biomedical to collaborate in the development of innovative medical devices for sale in China and overseas. 

Asabys Partners is a VC firm based in Barcelona and invests mainly in the healthtech and biopharma industries. Backed by Sabadell Bank, the VC now has offices in Spain, UK, Switzerland and Israel. Asabys Partners aims to accelerate technology breakthroughs in the fields of science and medicine by supporting a network of industry experts and talent.Asabys started operations in 2019 and is currently fundraising its first fund, Sabadell Asabys Health Innovation Investments, with a target size of €70m and Banc Sabadell as anchor investor. Main areas of investment include Biopharma, MedTech and Digital Therapeutics.

Mubadala was founded in 2017 and was directly listed as a Public Joint Stock Company, merging the Mubadala Development Company and the International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC).Mubadala is owned by the government of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with approximately $299bn assets under management and operations across 50 countries. Mubadala owns the Advanced Technology Investment Company (ATIC), a firm acting as an investment vehicle in high technology sectors.

CICFH was co-founded in 2013 by China Investment Securities, ZhongCai Financial Holding Investment and other companies. Based in Tianjin, the VC manages multiple funds worth over RMB 80bn in total.CICFH focuses on M&A in emerging industries and mainly invests in sectors of media, arts, entertainment, healthcare, fintech and environmental technology through multiple funds established with other enterprises. It has also set up multiple FoFs, partnering with provincial governments to spur the development of certain industries.

Lighthouse Capital is a boutique investment bank established in 2014. The firm has helped to raise finance for over 75 companies, completing more than 120 private funding deals worth over $11bn in total. Its portfolio of companies is valued at over $100bn, including 19 with unicorn status.Lighthouse Capital also manages four PE funds, worth $250bn, targeted at companies in the growth and later stages in emerging sectors.
