Hu Yao graduated in 2009 from Nankai University in Tianjin with a bachelor's degree in software engineering. He was CTO at renren.com from 2008–2012 and a senior software engineer at Meituan Dianping from 2013–2014. From 2014–2016, he was VP of ONE Smart Piano. He co-founded Waterdrop in 2016 and had served as the general manager of Waterdrop Mutual Aid until the platform was shut down in March 2021.

CTO of Atomian
Miquel Montero, founder and former CEO of Atomian and its current CTO, is an industrial engineering graduate from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. He also holds a degree in Software Engineering from the Open University of Catalonia. He began developing the Atomian product while he was still a 24-year old student and worked on it for 18 years. He is a pioneer in cognitive computing and used an original system to reproduce human cognitive processes based on symbols, data structures and algorithms. In 1998, he founded Step2U, a mobile interactivity services and software development company, where he worked until he formed Atomian in 2014.

He has a background in finance (Account Manager at WorkMeter, Tempos 21 and AIS Aplicaciones de Inteligencia Artificial) and sales (Commercial Manager at proceedit "the BPM process' factory" and Office Manager at Lleidanetworks Serveis Telemàtics, S.L., Hyperion Solutions, and Saari) and is an experienced executive in the IT and Telco industries with international exposure.

He was one of the developers of the Atomian (product) architecture and the Atomian Modeling Language (AML). He is also lead programmer for Atomian's medical products and is responsible for Atomian's ETL software. He previously worked as analyst and web developer at Elecnor and Teytel, as a first level operator in NextReT and as a Specialist in B. Braun Medical.
