Founded in 2007, private equity investment firm Cathay Capital runs eight funds with a total of more than €2.1 billion in assets under management. Founded over 110 years ago from several small agricultural cooperative banks, the Dutch commercial banking group Rabobank has over 10m customers across 47 countries. The banking group’s Rabo Investments vehicle manages Rabo Ventures with a €120m fund investing globally in early-stage fintech and agtech startups. There is also a €30m fund-of-funds to partner with leading VCs in other funding rounds like the $12m funding round of Dutch e-scooter company GO Sharing.The Rabobank Food & Agri Innovation Fund specializes in supporting enterprises involved in creating sustainable solutions for diverse food and agricultural sectors including livestock farms. Rabo F&A Innovation Fund currently has 11 agri-foodtech startups in its portfolio, including participation in a $12m Series A round of Vence, US-based virtual fencing tech company for livestock management.

The firm is managed by a team of serial entrepreneurs and executives involved in global internet, game and online media companies.The VC is co-founded by managing partners Taizo Son, Keith Nilsson and Susan Choe who also founded Katalyst Ventures. Son is the brother of SoftBank’s Masayoshi Son based in Japan. Taizo founded Gungho Online in 2002, a major online gaming company that became public-listed in 2005. With a vision to create a Silicon Valley-like venture eco-system in East Asia, he also founded MOVIDA JAPAN in 2009. He also founded Mistletoe Inc as CEO in 2013 to support entrepreneurs and provide startup ecosystem development activities.

Juan Campmany Ibañez is one of the founders of Tandem Campmany Guasch, a Spanish advertising agency that merged with the network DDB Worldwide in 1979. In 1997, he was appointed the CEO of DDB Madrid.  Campmany is well known as an industry expert, responsible for shaping Spain’s advertising industry for over 40 years.

A major competitor of Douyin (Chinese version of TikTok), the short-video platform Kuaishou was launched in March 2011. The company currently has 262.4m daily active users for its app. Over 2.6m pieces of short videos are uploaded everyday by its users. Kuaishou went public in Hong Kong in February 2021.

Formerly Fidelity Growth Partners, the renamed Eight Roads Ventures is the investment arm of Fidelity International Limited. In China for over 20 years, it counts among its successful investments/exits Alibaba, WuXi PharmaTech, AsiaInfo and iSoftStone. It focuses on early- and growth-stage companies across eight broad sectors.

Founded in 2010, Shenzhen-based Sinoagri E-Commerce is China’s biggest B2B trading platform for agricultural products. It also provides a wide range of services including intelligence, third-party storage & logistics, financing and technical support to producers, manufacturers, suppliers and retailers along the whole supply chain. 

Next Chance Invest SL is part of the family firm Next Chance Group that was founded in 2010 by Nicolás Luca de Tena, a well-known Spanish entrepreneur and angel investor. Based in Madrid, the firm invested in the city's Spanish food delivery company La Nevera Roja in 2013. The "Red Fridge", acquired by Rocket Internet for €80m in 2016, was later sold on to Just Eat a year later. Next Chance normally invests between €500,000 and €2m on the scaling tech startups with annual turnover of over €2m.
