CEO and Founder of Modoo
Ma Jiliang graduated from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2013 with a degree in Industrial and System Engineering. He also has a degree in Applied Mathematics. While studying, Ma had internship roles as a lab and program manager with companies in Suzhou, China.In 2012, he started working as a program manager at AI startup Mobvoi in Beijing. After his graduation, he continued to work at Mobvoi until 2014. He founded medtech Modoo as CEO in 2015. He wanted to produce a more effective and safer fetal-monitoring device that can be used by pregnant women at home.

João Magalhães is the Portuguese co-founder and CTO of medtech Knokcare, previously known as Knok Healthcare. Prior to founding Knokcare in 2015, he co-founded Iterar, a software developer that also created Knokcare’s software.Magalhães completed a master’s degree in Medicine at the University of Porto in 2014 that helped him to conceive the concept for Knokcare. He worked at Iterar for six years as a web and Android developer until 2017. He also worked in software development and systems administration at Savant for almost two years, while expanding his client portfolio at Iterar.

Will Hetzler graduated from Harvard in 2009 as an economist. He worked as a consultant for Oliver Wyman for over three years, advising Fortune 500 aviation companies on engine maintenance, technical sourcing, supply chain and risk management.In 2014, he co-founded Zipline International in Silicon Valley to make drones to deliver critical medical supplies to remote parts of the world. He led the company’s work in Africa and established Zipline’s partnership with the Government of Rwanda. In 2018, he became the head of business development for the US and Canada.

All of her companies were based in the Barcelona area. In 2017, she gained entry to the youth entrepreneurship acceleration program Yuzz Santander, a Santander Bank initiative. Márquez holds a degree in industrial engineering and organization from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.

Edwin Widjonarko spent almost 6 years working as a research assistant at the USA’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory and at University of Colorado Boulder. In some of the projects he worked on, Widjonarko contributed to the development of new generation solar panels. In 2015, he left the research sphere to join Intel Corporation as a technology development process engineer. He stayed on until 2018, when he left Intel and returned to Indonesia to establish Xurya, a solar power company. Working with longtime friend Gusmantara Himawan and former East Ventures associate Philip Effendy, Widjonarko now works as Xurya’s director of technology.
