Ex-United Nations employee Muhamad Fajrin Rasyid holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Informatics Engineering from Bandung Institute of Technology. As a student, he and BukaLapak co-founder Achmad Zaky opened a noodle shop near their dorm. Previous to BukaLapak, he had worked at Indosat, the United Nations and The Boston Consulting Group. He also co-founded Suitmedia, a digital agency that develops websites for companies such as HijUp.com and MasukNegeri.com.

A 15-year veteran of the gaming industry, Dong Yupeng served as VP of product development at the online game developer, Locojoy, where he was in charge of operations for many mobile gaming products including I’m MT, Genghis Khan and I’m MT 3. In 2018, he founded Beijing Code View Technology, which launched Reworld in 2019. He is now responsible for operations and marketing at Reworld.

Harvard-trained ex-McKinsey consultant Nadiem Makarim holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and Affairs from Brown University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Before launching Gojek, Nadiem worked at McKinsey, Zalora Indonesia and Kartuku. Makarim was born in 1984 in Singapore. In October 2019, Makarim left Gojek to take up the post of Minister of Education and Culture in the Indonesian cabinet of ministers.

Nour Akbaraly completed a master’s in engineering at Centrale Lille and also a master’s in applied mathematics at Lille University in 2010. In 2011, Akbaraly joined industrial manufacturing consultancy firm Avencore as a consultant in Paris.The avid photographer and F&B enthusiast also went to various tea-tasting classes at a tea specialist college until 2015. Passionate about gastronomy, he began exploring alt-protein alternatives to address the environmental and ethical challenges of food supply chains.In 2016, he went on an engineering training course for agronomy and agri-food at AgroSup Dijon, the National Institute of Agronomic, Food and Environmental Sciences.A year later, he founded Les Noveaux Affineurs, a startup specializing in plant-based alternatives to cheese. His ambition is to create a new range of French gastronomic vegan cheese products for consumers in France and overseas.Since 2010, Akbaraly is also a volunteer at the Action Contre la Faim, a Paris-based international NGO founded in 1979. The “Action Against Hunger” projects include running awareness campaigns on food security issues in colleges and schools in France and other countries like India and Sudan.

María Eugenia García founded her first business in 2013, dedicated to the import and export of education materials. After a stint in Hong Kong, she closed the business and focused on developing the MenteLista platform to follow her passion for neuroscience and how it can be used to enhance children's learning.She had previously managed the Andalusian Center of Technology and Innovation (CITIC) for 11 years. She had also worked as a senior consultant at BAE Systems. She has a computer science degree from Salamanca Pontifical University and a master's in Business Administration from San Telmo International Institute.

Patrick Synge has lived in Spain for eight years since he left Britain after studying music at Warwick School. He has worked in sales since graduating from the University of the West of England. He started his sales career at Euro Sports Media and deVere Group.  Synge was the head of sales at food-delivery startup Degustabox before joining Eliport as co-founder and director of partnerships. He and co-founder Dmitry Skorinko created Eliport to solve the last-mile delivery problem by using autonomous delivery robots in local neighborhoods. Since March 2019, Synge has also joined Alias Robotics as VP for sales.

Joshua Errett graduated in philosophy in 2004 and completed a postgraduate degree in journalism in 2006. He also completed an MBA in entrepreneurial and small business operations in Indiana University in 2015.In 2004, he co-founded Torontoist.com, a media website that attracted thousands of views per day. He left the startup to join New Brunswick Telegraph Journal as a reporter for one year before becoming digital managing editor for NOW magazine. In 2013, he went on to work for three years as a senior producer at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).He met Shannon Falconer at a cat rescue project in Toronto. The two pet owners co-founded the biotech Because Animals in 2016 to create more sustainable food for dogs and cats. Errett worked as a marketing manager at Equitable (EQ) Bank before working full-time as COO at Because Animals.

A pioneer of China's IT industry, Zhu Min founded Cybernaut in 2005. To date, the firm has invested over $10bn in Chinese technology companies through 70 funds, in addition to another $10bn jointly managed with its partners outside China. Cybernaut also has about 20 startup incubators (Cybernaut Internet+) across China. Zhu studied at Stanford University in the 1980s and founded web conference solutions provider WebEx Communications Inc., which went public on NASDAQ in 2000, before being sold to Cisco for $3.2bn. 

Well-known entrepreneur Yu Minhong and Sheng Xitai, a senior investment banker, co-founded Aplus Capital in November 2014. In November 2017, Aplus Capital formally changed its name to  Hongtai Capital Holdings. By the end of 2018, the assets under its management have amounted to over RMB 20 billion. Hongtai Capital Holdings mainly invests in startups in various stages of growth and focuses on sectors of artificial intelligence, big data, consumer products, entertainment, education, manufacturing and fintech. 

Foresee Capital was set up as the asset management division of Phoenix Finance, an investment platform under Hong Kong-based Phoenix Television, in 2014. In 2017, it became the independent firm Beijing Foresee Asset Management Co., Ltd. As of Q1 2018, assets under management have exceeded RMB 69.5 billion, including fixed-income investment, real estate equity, private equity and overseas investment.

Climate-KIC is an initiative supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), whose focus is to create and support a community of entrepreneurs and mentors that jointly develop and produce innovative ideas facilitating the transition to a zero-carbon economy. Climate-KIC has launched various initiatives and acceleration programs across Europe targeted at growing startups that are tackling climate change, providing them with structure, assistance, mentoring and seed funding to develop low-carbon products and services. 

Established in 2015, Isomer Capital is a London-based VC that mainly invests in European technology startups from pre-seed to Series B rounds. It invests across multiple sectors and currently has 30 startups in its portfolio, including prominent companies Deliveroo and Codacy.  Isomer has managed two exits to date: Codeship and Accelerated Dynamics. Its most recent investments include the seed round of quantum ML technology GTN and the Series A round of Proxiclick, a cloud-based tourism management system.

Founded in 2005, Fortune Link focuses on private equity investment. Its founder, Kan Zhidong was also the founder of Shenzhen Capital Group,  one of the first few venture capitalists in China. As at March 2018, it had set up a number of funds and managed over 20 investment teams.With over RMB 30bn worth of assets under its management, Fortune Link mainly invests in sectors including TMT, environmental protection, advanced material, healthcare, high tech industries, culture and media.

José Neves is best known as the CEO and co-founder of fashion unicorn Farfetch, one of Portugal's most successful startups to date. London-based Neves is also a non-executive director at the British Fashion Council. He has set up his own foundation to spend two-thirds of Farfetch's profits on innovation projects. As an angel investor, he has so far invested in two startups: Portuguese fintech StudentFinance and fashion platform asap54.com where he is also an advisor.
