After graduating from Wuhan University with a bachelor’s degree in Remote Sensing in 2005, Gong Huaze moved on to postgraduate study at the Institute of Remote Sensing Applications (IRSA), Chinese Academy of Sciences. He earned a doctoral degree in Remote Sensing Application Technology in 2010 and worked as a research fellow at IRSA. He co-founded McFly as CEO in December 2016.

Co-founder and COO of Arkyne Technologies, Javier Rodríguez Macías was listed as one of the most promising young people in Forbes 30u30 Europe in 2017. He attended Colegio de San Francisco de Paula, the same high school as co-founder Pablo Manuel Vidarte Gordillo who was also named in Forbes 30u30.Graduating in 2018, with a degree in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Rodríguez is also one of the developers of Bioo, an Arkyne Technologies project. In 2015, he also co-founded Geoo that produced geolocation tracking stickers.

A developer with over 10 years of experience, Pedro Araújo received his bachelor’s in Computer Science and his master’s in Informatics from the University of Minho. He worked as a web developer and junior programmer at several companies before joining WeDo Technology as a developer and analyst in 2011. In 2013, Araújo joined Network Locum as senior Python/Django developer, leaving the company in 2015 to start Attentive, where he still serves as CTO. Previously, he had co-founded Portuguese startup and events directory NovaWeb with his brother Daniel. NovaWeb closed in 2015.

Cai received a degree in engineering from Université de Technologie de Troyes in 2011. In 2012, he obtained a master's degree in Project Management from Essec Business School Paris and a Master of Sciences from Telecom ParisTech. Cai then worked at Microsoft France for a year. In 2013, he co-founded DreamStorm, which helped like-minded people start businesses, which was acquired by EFactor at a valuation of US$6.5m in 2014. Cai then became a partner at Gewara, a movie ticket booking startup. He left the company after it was acquired by Weiying Times in 2016. In 2017, Cai founded Makaron and has acted as CEO ever since.

He used the same name of a company he founded in 2012 and ran with a different team, which was dissolved in 2016. He is the son of the inventor of the technology, Sergio Rico Velasco, and was instrumental in positioning the product’s use from residual waste water treatment to agritech. Rico previously worked in a private school, Indo-American College, in Tlalnepantla in the State of Mexico City as a systems administrator. He graduated as an engineer in Electrical Systems from Monterrey University, Mexico City campus.

Seeing the need for digitalization and improvement in mental health assessments and long wait times experienced by patients gave him the inspiration to start Aimentia.Jorba is currently studying for a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications technologies and services engineering at the Open University of Catalonia. He joined a SynBio project team to create PHA bioplastics during his postgrad research at university.Li was also the leader of Tsinghua University’s team that won a gold medal at the International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) Design Competition. He met Zhang Haoqian at the iGEM giant jamboree in 2010 and they have remained friends ever since.Li and Zhang co-founded Bluepha in 2016, a spin-off from Tsinghua University’s SynBio research project. In 2018, Li was selected for MIT Technology Review’s list of Innovators under 35. In 2019, he was named one of the 40 Chinese business elites under 40.
