Muhammad Risyad Ganis joined agriculture crowd investment platform Crowde as a co-founder and is currently the company’s CFO. He was previously with the Jakarta office of Willis Towers Watson, a global financial advisory company. Risyad graduated from the University of Melbourne, Australia in 2014 with a bachelor’s in Economics, Politics and International Studies.Ganis left Crowde in 2018. He obtained a master’s and also a doctorate in Electronic Engineering and Computer Science from UC Berkeley in 1997 and 2000 respectively.He worked as an assistant professor and later as associated professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 2000 to 2011. He was the lead researcher and director of the computer vision team at Microsoft Research from 2009 to 2014. He was named Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in 2013 for contributions to computer vision and pattern recognition.
