Anna Martinez Balañá is the granddaughter of Pedro Balañá, who is the owner of several theatres and cinemas in Barcelona as well as its Monumental Arena, the city's former bullfighting ring. While coordinating a digital transformation project at Galp, Tapias decided to leave behind 17 years in the energy sector to establish digital identity startup Ecertic, where he is currently CEO.
