Beyond Investing is a Geneva-based firm investing in early-stage venture capital and equity growth startups mainly in European developed markets. US-French private equity company L Catterton is based in Greenwich, USA, with 17 offices around the world and over $28bn of equity capital. It mostly invests in the consumer industry as well as real estate and technology startups.Founded in 1989 and currently led by co-CEOs Michael Chu and Scott Dahnke, in 2016, L Catterton partnered with the LVMH Group and Groupe Arnault combining Catterton's operations with LVMH and Groupe Arnault's real estate and private equity operations across Europe Asia, and North America. The partnership formed the largest global consumer-focused private equity firm yet the 31st largest private equity firm in the world. L Catterton holds majority stakes in companies like Birkenstock, Crystal Jade, Bliss, John Hardy amongst others; it also invests in technology startups in their growth and hyper-growth phases. Most notable investments include Aleph Farms, ClassPass, and more recently the plant-based products manufacturer NotCo. Its latest growth fund, L Catterton Growth IV, targets an investment range of $10m–$75m in North America and Europe.

Founded in London in 1998, Kreos Capital is a pioneer growth debt provider. Kreos has completed over 630 deals worth over €3bn in pan-European countries and Israel. The Kreos Capital Group of companies and various funds are regulated by the Jersey Financial Services Commission.Kreos currently has 102 companies in its portfolio and has managed over 200 exits. Investee Riskified, an Israeli e-commerce fraud protection company, was listed on the NYSE at a $3.3bn valuation in August 2021. Kreos also joined recent investments in 2021 including the $54m Series B round of Austrian refurbished electronics goods marketplace Refurbed and the €9.5m round of Berlin-based HRtech expertlead.

MNC Media Investment started out as Linktone, a China-based media company that was acquired in 2008 by Indonesia’s MNC group that is owned by business tycoon and politician Hary Tanoesoedibjo. Linktone was rebranded as MNC Media Investment Ltd in 2014 to  focus on various entertainment and marketing products, as well as other media services. Its shares are also listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and quoted on the OTC Markets Group’s OTC Pink.

With the support of the government of Guangdong province, Utrust invests in many Guangdong-based companies. By the end of December 2017, Utrust had managed capital of over RMB 4.3 billion with assets exceeding RMB 900 million.

Stella Maris Partners is a venture capital fund based in San Pedro Garza García, Mexico with a focus on the education, healthcare and financial services sectors. It invests in Mexican and foreign startups looking to expand to Mexico and Latin America. The firm was founded by Armando Badillo in 2012 and has four other managing partners, Angel Alvarez Cadaveico, Guillermo Zambrano Martinez, Jesus O. Lanza Losa and Marcelo Antonio Benitez Akbo.

Central Capital Ventura is backed by Bank Central Asia (BCA), one of Indonesia's largest banks. The venture capital firm is focused on identifying and investing in fintech and other technologies that can potentially support BCA's own businesses and service ecosystem. Central Capital Venture has backed Indonesian microlending company JULO and Singapore payments processing company Wallex. It has also invested in Gerbang Pembayaran Nasional (GPN), Indonesia's new national card-based payment gateway system.

NUMA is a Paris-based innovation hub with offices in New York, Berlin, Moscow, Barcelona, Mexico City, Casablanca in Morocco and Bengalaru, India. Supported by its 130 staff members, the company runs training and startup acceleration programs globally. To date, 300 startups have participated in NUMA's acceleration program, which was developed in partnership with the City of Paris. To date, NUMA has seen 17 exits from its investments. 

InvestIdea Ventures is an Indonesia-focused venture capital firm. It invests in early stage web and mobile-based companies, providing funding, advice and networking support. Founded in 2011, InvestIdea has been selective in building its portfolio, having invested in only six companies so far. Among its portfolio companies are language education platform Cakap (formerly Squline), healthcare platform Halodoc (which was co-founded by one of InvestIdea's partners) and online brochure maker IMOOJI.

Clime Capital is a clean energy-focused investment firm based in Singapore with a focus on early-stage companies. In June 2020, the VC launched the Southeast Asia Clean Energy Facility (SEACEF), a fund backed by philanthropic donors to support early-stage companies in commercializing clean energy solutions. The initial fund is valued at $10m. SEACEF’s first investment is in Xurya, an Indonesian startup providing solar power system leasing to commercial customers.

Founded in 1843, Connecticut-based Stanley Black & Decker, is one of the oldest US manufacturing companies. It has acquired tons of organizations in recent decades and invests in a very selected number of startups. Its most recent disclosed tech startup investments via its VC arm Stanley Ventures were in the 2021 $1.8m seed round of Spain’s Triditive, and in the 2019 undisclosed investment round of Argentinian field operations software Iguana Fix.

Founded in 2013, Asia Africa Investment & Consulting (AAIC) is a Japanese VC that invests in developing nations in Africa. Based in Singapore, the Japanese investment team are also involved in consultancy work. To date, AAIC has invested in eight companies. Investments during 2020 include two Egyptian startups: mobile teleradiology medtech Rology’s $860,000 seed funding in September and mental health medtech platform Shezlong’s Series A round in June.

Founded in 1980, Western Technology Investment invests in tech and life science startups. To date, it has invested over $6bn in 1,300 companies worldwide across diverse market segments.The Silicon Valley-based WTI currently has more than 500 companies in its global portfolio. Recent investments include US anti-aging medtech Elevio’s $15m funding in November 2020 and the $4.3m seed round in August 2020 for US fintech for teens Copper Banking.
