Juan Martinez studied Industrial Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain and holds a master's specializing in rotary machine design. He has spent over four years as a design and stress engineer at various Spanish engineering companies, including rail infrastructure firm Vossloh, Altran, an engineering R&D services company and ISATI (International Solutions for the Aeronautical and Telecommunications Industries). Since 2016, Martinez has been co-founder and CTO at Solatom, a startup that develops solar concentrators for industrial applications.

In 2009, Cristian Pascual became a business angel at Let's Bonus and Audience Media in Spain. He also became a business angel at Antai Venture Builder in 2012 and joined as board member in 2018. The co-founder and CEO of Mediktor is also the president of Barcelona Health Hub.The engineering graduate has an MBA from ESADE Business School. In 1996, he became a board member of Greens Power Products, the distributor for Honda power products in Spain. Pascual spent 18 years working at his family's business Europastry that also invested in Let's Bonus.

Before co-founding Luoji Siwei with Luo Zhenyu, Li was a regular contributor to several established Chinese business magazines and news outlets, including CEO & CIO, Global Business and Huxiu.com. She has served as a guest lecturer for Tsinghua University’s CEO class and for the New Entrepreneur Development Program, an executive continuing education program run by the State Council Development Research Center and Stanford University. Li is the founding partner of the China Soft Power Research Center, a Chinese corporate services and management consulting firm. She hosts a radio show called Li Tiantian Morning Observations on China National Radio.

An electronic and communications engineer who's worked in Spain and Switzerland, Javier Escalante is a graduate of the University Polytechnic of Catalonia (UPC). He has a master's in Industrial Engineering (UPC) and a master's in B2B Sales from ESADE. After working eight years as a maintenance manager and automation engineer at corporates including Fuchs Oil, Oerlikon, Holcim and Tel Solar, Escalante returned to Spain in 2015 to start his own company BeWireless, specializing in Wi-Fi systems. From 2017, the company pivoted to focus on IoT products and services as B'Smart.

Born in 1969, Pan Yingjiu had worked at Zhuhai Nanping Enterprise Corporation from September 1990 to July 1991. He also worked as an engineer at Canon Zhuhai until August 1994 when he left to start a new career as an investment manager at Zhuhai Pingsha Jinyan Tourism Corporation.In December 1999, he became a financial investment manager at China Materials Development Investment Corporation and rose to become a board director in May 2005 at a Hong Kong-based luminescent material manufacturer. In March 2007, he became the GM of Lanshi VC until March 2011. Since September 2010, he has also been working as a board director at Weibang Investment in Shenzhen and Beijing IN-Power Electric Co Ltd.

Charlie Bavington holds a PhD in biochemistry from the University of Edinburgh and has done postdoctoral research at the Scottish Association for Marine Science in natural marine products specializing in glycobiology and carbohydrate chemistry.In 2000, he moved from academic research to industry, joining a marine biotechnology company where he has been responsible for natural product discovery and contract research. His commitment to marine life and natural product development continued with GlycoMar, a company he co-founded in 2005, specializing in the discovery and development of novel functional glycans from microalgae, macroalgae, invertebrates, and plants.Since 2018, he’s CTO and co-founder of Oceanium, a Scottish startup developing marine-safe bio-packaging and plant-based food and nutrition products from sustainably farmed seaweed.

Telmo Güell is a young entrepreneur responsible for the business development of The Beemine Lab, the first biotechnology company in Spain to produce cannabidiol-based cosmetics. He founded the company in 2018. Güell started his studies in Philosophy but he soon realized he was more fascinated by design and computer programming and so chose to specialize in JavaScript Fullstack and UX. Passionate about bees, he decided to start a project that would support beekeeping and address the risk of bee extinction. By combining bees with the cannabis plant, he founded The Beemine Lab, using bees to pollinate cannabis plants and cannabis pollen to sustain populated beehives.The Beemine Lab products are today sold in pharmacies, para-pharmacies and via Amazon Spain, as well as on the company’s e-commerce page.

Trained in mechanical engineering, Alex Raventos graduated from the MIT-Portugal’s Executive Master’s program focused on sustainable energy systems. In 2017 he joined the prestigious Global Solution Program led by Singularity University at NASA Research Park in Mountain View, California, where talents meet to develop innovative technology and groundbreaking solutions that address the greatest challenges for humanity today.Raventos has gained significant experience as head of economics and project coordinator in companies in the energy sector such as WavEC Offshore Renewables and Bluewater.In 2014 he founded Inn2Grid, consulting companies in renewable energy and focused on ocean energy technologies. Since 2017 he has been CEO and co-founder of X1 Wind, a Barcelona-based startup developing a downwind turbine technology to reduce the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) in offshore wind plants.  

Hilman Fajrian started learning how to code at the age of six. By the time he reached high school, he was earning money writing software for local businesses in Balikpapan in the East Kalimantan province. He decided to read Law at Universitas Gadjah Mada, but during his time in university he also ran a software development house. After graduating with a bachelor's degree, he returned to East Kalimantan and worked for a local newspaper before starting his own in 2006. Between 2006 and 2017, Hilman also founded a digital marketing company catering to local businesses and briefly worked as a big data consultant for PLN, Indonesia's state-owned power company. He exited all his roles in late 2017 to begin work on Arkademi, a new Massive Online Open Course (MOOC) platform.

Currently based in London, French national Pierre Yves Paslier completed a master’s in materials science and engineering from INSA in Lyon in 2010. In 2012, he went on to complete a master’s in industrial and product design at the Royal College of Art in London. He also studied innovation design engineering at Imperial College.After graduating in 2014, Paslier and university alumnus Rodrigo García González co-founded Skipping Rocks Lab that was pivoted as Notpla in 2019. Both are co-CEOs of the UK-based startup that develops compostable and edible packaging material made of seaweed and other plants.Before becoming an entrepreneur, Paslier worked as a packaging engineer for L’Oréal from 2010 to 2012. He has been invited to speak at TEDx conferences in Athens and Warwick to share his experience and innovative projects in packaging and product design. In 2020, he became an industrial advisory board member at Imperial College London Dyson School of Design Engineering. In 2019, he also became a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering Enterprise Hub.

British Oxford-educated engineer William Reeve is a serial investor and entrepreneur who built two successful businesses Fletcher Research and LOVEFiLM.com from scratch and led them to successful exits.  He is currently Chairman of online investment management platform Nutmeg.com, CEO of proptech accelerator Goodlord and Non-Executive Director of Dunhelm Soft Furnishings. He was also Co-CEO and Chairman at grocery delivery company Hubbub.co.uk and was Non-Executive Chairman at healthy snack startup Graze.com. He was Head of Operations at Paddy Power betting agency, Managing Director of Oxalyst Systems and has been a non-executive director at a host of online platforms including Secret Escapes, Zoopla! and DealChecker.co.uk. 

Bamboo Capital Partners is an impact investment company that focuses on supporting energy access, finance and healthcare-related ventures in developing countries. The company manages 10 investment funds across Asia, Africa, and Latin America, with companies in Indonesia, India, Kyrgyz Republic, and Brazil having received investments from this company.  Bamboo Capital Partners states that their portfolio healthcare companies have served 3.4m patients, and 9.68m metric tons of CO2 emissions have been avoided through the use of solar panels and green energy championed by their startups.Bamboo Capital Partners have worked with governments and major investment groups to support the fulfillment of SDG goals through startup investing. In 2020, Bamboo Capital Partners was appointed by the government of Madagascar and the World Bank as the fund manager for the $40m Off-Grid Market Development Fund. Bamboo is also a partner of the Palladium Group, which owns a minority stake in the VC.

Javier Colmenarejo is the Spanish co-founder and CEO of Sea Water Analytics, a tourism-focused data aggregator with user app to measure seawater quality. The technology has been in development since 2017, though the company was formally launched in Madrid in April 2020. He has spent more than 15 years as a civil engineer, working in hydraulic and water treatment systems. He  currently works on smart city initiatives on the Adapting Cities to Change program in Madrid and he lectures in Big Data, IoT, Data Services and Business in two Madrid institutions. He works part-time at Sea Water Analytics' technical partner Talentum as a blockchain and IoT innovation manager.Colmenarejo holds four master's degrees: in Big Data and Business Analytics from Madrid's School of Industrial Organization (EIO); in Data Science and IoT from Madrid Institute of Things Institute; in Business Administration from The Power MBA; and in civil engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
