Co-founder, CEO of UTW (Unmanned Technical Works)
Julio Díaz Hernández worked as an electrical engineer for Spain's ITP group for two years before joining aerospace manufacturer ITD in 2001. He became ITD's head of systems design business unit based at Getafe before leaving in 2015 to become the co-founder and CEO of Unmanned Technical Works (UTW).The MBA postgrad, mechanical engineering and industrial electronics alumnus from Madrid's Polytechnic University also co-founded Aventix as CEO. Aventix provides personalized engineering services to UTW and other clients in the aerospace, ICT, railway, automotive and energy sectors.

Jesus Cano is currently working as a senior engineer at Spanish aerospace manufacturer ITD, with over 20 years of experience in project management, electrical engineering and other roles including the design of Airbus 380 and other aircraft in the UK. Besides the ITD projects with BAE systems, he was also based in France for over three years as a senior design engineer in Toulouse. The aeronautical engineer from Madrid's Polytechnic University became the co-founder and CTO of Unmanned Technical Works (UTW) in 2015. He is also co-founder and deputy CTO of Aventix that provides specialized UTW-related engineering services.

Growing up amid a family-trucking business, Roolin Njotosetiadi has developed a lifelong passion for logistics. The mechanical engineer from Nanyang Technological University majored in manufacturing, including automation, logistics and supply chains. After graduating in 2007, she spent a year studying Advanced Chinese at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.In 2010, the master's postgrad from London School of Economics worked as associate consultant at The Parthenon Group London and later moved back home to work for McKinsey in Jakarta. In 2016, she joined O2O startup Kudo that was acquired by Grab. She co-founded Logisly in 2019 to help digitalize the trucking sector.

After graduating from Wuhan University with a bachelor’s degree in Remote Sensing in 2005, Gong Huaze moved on to postgraduate study at the Institute of Remote Sensing Applications (IRSA), Chinese Academy of Sciences. He earned a doctoral degree in Remote Sensing Application Technology in 2010 and worked as a research fellow at IRSA. He co-founded McFly as CEO in December 2016.
After graduating from Wuhan University with a bachelor’s degree in Remote Sensing in 2005, Gong Huaze moved on to postgraduate study at the Institute of Remote Sensing Applications (IRSA), Chinese Academy of Sciences. He earned a doctoral degree in Remote Sensing Application Technology in 2010 and worked as a research fellow at IRSA. He co-founded McFly as CEO in December 2016.

Born in 1982, Chen Qi graduated from Wuhan University with a bachelor’s degree in Remote Sensing in 2005, the same year as fellow alumnus Gong Huaze. Both became co-founders of McFly, with Chen as COO in December 2016.After graduation, Chen moved to Beijing and worked at NavInfo, a digital map supplier under the state-owned China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC). He also earned a master’s in Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing at Wuhan University while working at NavInfo. In 2013, he worked at Alibaba Mobile Business Group as a product manager until he left to establish agtech startup McFly.

Serial entrepreneur Eloi Gómez Cal (Santiago de Compostela, 1992) holds a double Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Food Science and Technology. He worked as President and Advisor in ACyTALE, The Food Science and Technology Association – part of the University of León in Spain. He later coordinated projects for Aqgri, developing a SaaS to improve quality processes in the agri-food sector. During this period, he also collaborated with Ceteris Paribus as a consultant on different European projects such as Horizon2020, Erasmus Plus and Fiware.

Daniel Araújo first became interested in startups while earning his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management at Católica Porto Business School. He went on to earn his master’s in International Business Development from the American Business School in Paris. After five years working in research and analytics at Google UK and Ireland, Araújo returned to Portugal to launch startup Attentive in 2015. He also co-founded online Portuguese startup and events directory NovaWeb with his brother Pedro while at Google. Araújo is also a mentor at the accelerator Techstars and a Global Shaper for the World Economic Forum's Lisbon Hub.

Cornell and Stanford-educated Fulbright scholar João Barros is a professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Porto and teaches in the MBA program at the Porto Business School. He has also held visiting appointments at MIT and Carnegie Mellon. He has co-founded two startups, Streambolico and Veniam, of which he is also CEO. Between 2009 and 2012, Barros served as National Director of the Carnegie Mellon Portugal Program, a five-year international partnership funded by the Portuguese Foundation of Science and Technology. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from Munich's Technical University.
