NYSE-listed Cheetah Mobile is a Beijing-based mobile internet company behind the popular utility applications Clean Master, Security Master and Battery Doctor. It also provides computer security software Duba Anti-virus and other platform products. Cheetah Mobile was formed from the merger of Kingsoft Security and Conew Image in 2010; it went public in 2014.

Founded in 2013, Gaorong Capital is based in Beijing, with an additional office in Hong Kong. It invests primarily in early-stage and growth-stage startups in the TMT sector. SeedRocket is one of the biggest networks of mentors and industry experts in Spain. Founded by Jesus Monleon and Vicente Arias, the firm offers mentorship, acceleration and seed funding programs of up to €150,000 per startup. SeedRocket is headquartered in Barcelona with a branch office in the Google Campus Madrid. SeedRocket has backed 160 startups with a total capital investment of €55 million, including five exits.

Sunway Ventures is the venture capital arm of the Sunway Group, a Malaysian conglomerate. The parent company has business interests ranging from property development and management to hospitality and education. In July 2018, it launched Sun SEA Capital in collaboration with Singapore-based KK Capital, focusing on Series A and Series B-tier startups in Southeast Asia.

MediaTek Inc. is a Taiwanese fabless semiconductor company. Its chips are widely used in smartphones and tablet computers sold by Xiaomi, Huawei, Meizu, Lenovo, etc. MediaTek Inc. was founded in 1997, and its headquarters are in Hsinchu, Taiwan. In 2018, the company announced it would invest mainly in 5G network and AI for the next five years.

Pinama Investments is a Madrid-based club of investors that has invested across a range of sectors and technologies. It has conducted two selection rounds to date, in 2013 and 2017. The group looks for scaleable opportunities that help its portfolio companies derive synergies among themselves so that they potentially collaborate with, and become customers of, one another. The firm has seen one exit to date. 

WuXi AppTec is a Chinese company that specializes in the outsourcing of R&D in the pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and medical devices sectors. Listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, WuXi AppTec has invested in drug development and healthcare firms globally. Its portfolio includes Insilico Medicine, which is developing an AI platform for drug development, brain disease research firm Verge Genomics and Indonesian healthcare platform Halodoc.

Founded in 2015, the Porto-based Betwixt Ventures is no longer active. The venture capital fund manager and advisory firm specialized in early-stage investments in Portuguese tech startups. It invested in startups vetted by other business angels, or co-invested with other VC partners and private investors. The focus of the investments was to fill in the funding gap between seed and Series A rounds. 

Founded in Beijing in 2010 with a registered capital of RMB 12m, Hongdao Capital manages six RMB funds and one US dollar fund, totaling RMB 2bn. It has invested in over 80 companies, including unicorns Ofo, WeDoctor, Wecash, and Renrendai.com. The sectors it has invested in include, internet-based finance, corporate services, healthcare and AI. Its investment size ranges from RMB 500,000 to RMB 50m. 

Founded in 2011 by Cyril Ebersweiler, partner of the venture capital firm SOSV,  HAX has grown into the world’s first and largest hardware accelerator. It currently operates in Shenzhen and San Francisco. Funded by SOSV, HAX selects teams with hardware prototypes and turns them into functional, sustainable companies. In this way, HAX has brought 65 products to the market in the last three years.

KDDI Open Innovation Fund is a joint corporate VC operated by Japanese telecommunications firm KDDI and investment firm Global Brain. It forms one part of KDDI's venture programs, the other being a Japan-only accelerator program, KDDI Infinity Labo. With the support of other companies in the group, such as au Financial Holdings and Soracom, KDDI is able to provide extensive and relevant support to its portfolio companies.

Mónica Delclaux has over 30 years of professional experience in the financial sector, specializing in stock markets. She is a member of the Spanish Institute of Financial Analysts and the Spanish Association of Accounting and Business Management (AECA).Delclaux is the CFO of Magallanes Value Investors SA SGIIC, a Spanish asset management company offering portfolio management, equity, financial planning, and advisory services.

Established in 2002, Hong Kong Stock Exchange-listed NWS Holdings’ main businesses are in infrastructure and service. Its main shareholder is New World Development. Henry Cheng currently serves as chairman and executive director of NWS Holdings. He is the eldest son of Dr Cheng Yu-tung, the founder of New World Development, a Hong Kong-based conglomerate engaged in property development, infrastructure and services. 

Forebright Capital originates from the PE investment team established in 2001 under the state-owned China Everbright which is listed in Hong Kong. Everbright was spun off in May 2014 as an independent company. With money raised from institutional investors and family offices at home and abroad, Forebright Capital currently manages four US-dollar funds. It mainly invests in sectors of clean energy, healthcare and fintech.

Founded in Nairobi in 2017, Chandaria Capital invests in African tech and non-tech startups across market segments. It currently has 13 companies in its portfolio. Recent investments include Kenyan diagnostics medtech startup Ilhara Health’s $3.8m Series A round in 2020 and $735,000 seed funding in 2019. The VC has also joined the seed investment round for Kenyan food and beverage startup Savannah Brand in 2019.
