Núria Pastor is the CEO and co-founder of HumanITcare, a telemedicine platform for remote patient monitoring using real-world data and AI to treat patients affected by chronic diseases and also to accelerate drug development and clinical trials. Under the helm of Pastor the startup has doubled its user base and is poised to become a leading player in digital health. Pastor holds a bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Barcelona and a Masters in Research in neuroscience from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Prior to HumanITcare, she worked as a researcher at the Hospital del Mar Research Institute and the University of Barcelona. She has also worked as Business Analyst in EIT Health and has mentored at the European Commission.

Łukasz Krasnopolski is the Polish CEO and co-founder of medtech diagnostic hardware and app Higo Sense, where he has worked full-time since 2017. He has also been the CEO of Polish tech incubator ToReforge since 2015 and is a co-founder at gaming developer Walkabout Games, established in 2017. Krasnopolski has also been the owner of internet marketing agency Red2black since 2007 and was founder and co-owner at e-commerce-for-children startup more4kids.pl between 2008 and 2012, when he exited the company that is now listed on the Polish stock exchange. He is a supervisory board member at Cloud Technologies, a leader in online advertising and big-data cloud computing in Europe and holds a master’s in entrepreneurship from Warsaw’s Kosminski University.

Li Teng graduated in bioscience at Tsinghua University in 2011 and stayed on to complete a PhD in synthetic biology in 2016. He joined a SynBio project team to create PHA bioplastics during his postgrad research at university.Li was also the leader of Tsinghua University’s team that won a gold medal at the International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) Design Competition. He met Zhang Haoqian at the iGEM giant jamboree in 2010 and they have remained friends ever since.Li and Zhang co-founded Bluepha in 2016, a spin-off from Tsinghua University’s SynBio research project. In 2018, Li was selected for MIT Technology Review’s list of Innovators under 35. In 2019, he was named one of the 40 Chinese business elites under 40. 

The European Investment Bank is a pan-European investor based in Luxembourg, and the only bank owned by European Union member states. Founded in 1958, the banks has invested in thousands of businesses and public and private infrastructure projects. It is the largest multilateral borrower and lender by volume and also now has an SME tech focus, with recipients needing to have sustainable business model and, usually, a European focus. In December 2020, the EIB launched a new €150m co-investment fund to support startups leveraging AI across Europe to address what it called “the multibillion-euro funding gap compared with the United States and China.” Its most recent investments include a €20m investment in the €32m Series C round of Portuguese international online print store 360imprimir (BIZAY) and its first spacetech investment, €20m in venture debt investment to Luxembourg-based Spire Global that is building a satellite constellation, both in December 2020.In 4Q 2020, it also invested €10m in Spanish industrial IoT startup Worldsensing, €15m in German identity verification platform IDnow and €15 in German sportstech platform KINEXON.

Victor Mayoral Vilches is a co-founder and advisor at Alias Robotics in Spain. He also works as CEO at Acutronic Robotics, a branch of the Swiss company where he was also CTO. Together with his brother, he co-founded Erle Robotics in 2012 and became its MD and CTO. Erle was sold to Acutronic Robotics in 2016 for €4million.He has a PhD in Bio-Robotics from the Italian Institute of Technology in Tuscany and a Computer Science degree from King Juan Carlos University, Madrid. A member of the Spanish National Robotics Committee, Victor Vilches is experienced in robotics and AI.

Roy Petter Dyrdahl Torgersen studied maritime navigation at Austevoll Fagskule School and later nautical sciences at the University of Stord/Haugesund in Norway. With 12 years of experience in the petro-maritime, scientific research and underwater mining prospection sectors, Torgersen also holds a Class 1 navigation license and has been a captain in the Merchant Navy in Singapore. Inspired by the potential of small submarine robots borne from his professional experience and passion for diving, Torgersen established Nido Robotics, where he is currently chairman and CEO. 

Telmo Güell is a young entrepreneur responsible for the business development of The Beemine Lab, the first biotechnology company in Spain to produce cannabidiol-based cosmetics. He founded the company in 2018. Güell started his studies in Philosophy but he soon realized he was more fascinated by design and computer programming and so chose to specialize in JavaScript Fullstack and UX. Passionate about bees, he decided to start a project that would support beekeeping and address the risk of bee extinction. By combining bees with the cannabis plant, he founded The Beemine Lab, using bees to pollinate cannabis plants and cannabis pollen to sustain populated beehives.The Beemine Lab products are today sold in pharmacies, para-pharmacies and via Amazon Spain, as well as on the company’s e-commerce page.

Marçal Rossinyol is a computer scientist, associate researcher and R&D project manager in the Computer Vision Centre (CVC) in Spain, where he participated in over 20 competitive research projects at national level and also for the European Commission. Since 2005 he is teaching assistant and lecturer at the Computer Science Department of the Autonomous University of Barcelona.Rossinyol also joined entrepreneurship programs in digital humanities and automatic reading systems, which, in 2019, led him to co-found AllRead MLT, a deep-tech startup that converts text, symbols and codes to Big Data using computer vision technology, character recognition and machine learning. His interests also include deep learning, data science, reading systems, information retrieval and performance evaluation. 

Nikhil Kaushik is one of the three co-founders of a startup company and MIT spin-off, Graviky Labs, which he began together with Anirudh Sharma and Nitesh Kadyan. The company developed AIR-INK, an industrial and customer-grade ink made of upcycled carbon emissions that are captured and purified through patented proprietary technology.  At Graviky Labs, Kaushik heads its operations and finance, and formerly oversaw its supply chain and business relations.Kaushik is a qualified chartered accountant. Prior to Graviky Labs,  he worked in Ernst & Young managing tax advisory and compliance work for large Indian and international corporates.  Kaushik was named one of Foreign Policy magazine's 100 Global Thinkers in 2016 along with the other Graviky Labs co-founders.

Trained in mechanical engineering, Alex Raventos graduated from the MIT-Portugal’s Executive Master’s program focused on sustainable energy systems. In 2017 he joined the prestigious Global Solution Program led by Singularity University at NASA Research Park in Mountain View, California, where talents meet to develop innovative technology and groundbreaking solutions that address the greatest challenges for humanity today.Raventos has gained significant experience as head of economics and project coordinator in companies in the energy sector such as WavEC Offshore Renewables and Bluewater.In 2014 he founded Inn2Grid, consulting companies in renewable energy and focused on ocean energy technologies. Since 2017 he has been CEO and co-founder of X1 Wind, a Barcelona-based startup developing a downwind turbine technology to reduce the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) in offshore wind plants.  

Jan Mattsson is a former senior UN official and the head of an ESG management consultancy. He is also chairman and co-founder of Everimpact, a GHG monitoring company that uses satellites, ground sensors, AI and machine learning to deliver more reliable carbon emissions data to public bodies, municipalities, and businesses. Mattsson has four decades of experience in development, humanitarian and peacekeeping operations, and has led operations and programs in Asia, Africa, Latin America and Central Asia. He spent nearly 14 years as UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), the operational arm of the UN. Over his professional career, Mattsson has also engaged with international organizations such as the World Bank and the Green Climate Fund. Outside of Everimpact, Mattsson is founder and CEO of M-Trust Leadership AB, an independent ESG and sustainable development management consultancy. He chairs the board of the Museum for the United Nations, and 4Life Solutions (formerly known as SolarSack), a company offering a solar-powered product that can provide safe drinking water to low-income and vulnerable communities. Mattsson also serves on the boards of The Management Lab, which aims to help investors analyze the social and environmental impact of their investments and philanthropy, as well as the World Benchmarking Alliance, an Amsterdam-based non-profit organization that aims to measure and incentivise businesses’ contributions towards the UN SDGs.  

Data services veteran Huang Haijia was the director of the Chinese government’s first online project in 1998; and the co-founder and former COO of ID5, set up in cooperation with the national police, for online identification checks and involving the digitization of ID data of the 1.3 billion population.  In 2001, Huang founded Guozhengtong, an IT consultancy supporting local governments in their digitization and, subsequently, banks and telcos. He later founded financial data and credit risk management SaaS company Shenzhourong, which he heads as CEO. Huang holds an EMBA from the Central European International Business School. He is also a member of the fifth batch of entrepreneurs from the incubation program of AAMA (Asia America Multi-Technology Association), Silicon Valley's largest non-profit organization dedicated to the Asian American high-tech community.

Adrian Sugandhi is CEO and co-founder of Sonicboom Indonesia, a platform that uses sound waves to transmit data with no need for an internet connection. He is also a commissioner – supervising management policies – and co-founder of PT. Elite Digital Solusindo, the parent company of Sonicboom. He has a Master of Science in Financial Engineering and a bachelor's degrees in financial analysis and modelling from Claremont Graduate University as well as a master's in computer science from the University of California, Irvine.

Dimosthenis Karatzas is Senior Research Fellow and Associate Director at the Computer Vision Centre (CVC) of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). He specializes in computer vision, document image analysis and color science. In 2007, he co-founded TruColour in the UK, where he currently is a member of the board of directors. In 2013, he was awarded the IAPR/ICDAR Young Investigator Award “for outstanding service and innovative research in human perception-based document analysis.” Karatzas also worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Liverpool and University of Southampton in the UK. Since 2019, he has been part of the co-founding team of Allread MLT, a deep-tech startup that converts text, symbols and codes to Big Data using computer vision technology, character recognition and machine learning.

Pierre Fillard is Chief Science Officer and co-founder of Therapixel, creator of AI-powered breast cancer screening and diagnosis software MammoScreen. At Therapixel, he previously held the positions of CEO and CTO. Before founding Therapixel, Fillard was a senior research scientist at INRIA (National Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology), where he focused on medical imaging and image processing. He has also been a visiting lecturer at CPE Lyon, a research associate at the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Agencies Commission, a PhD candidate at INRIA, and a research assistant at the University of North Carolina. He has a diploma from the HEC School of Management, a master’s in science, mathematics and computer science from the Université Jean Monnet Saint-Etienne and a degree in engineering, computer science, and applied mathematics from the Ecole Supérieure de Chimie Physique Electronique de Lyon.
