Hawa Traore is CEO and co-founder at Teliman, Mali’s first on-demand mobility startup and one of francophone Africa’s first, where she has worked since its launch in 2018. She initially worked as COO for one year before becoming CEO.  Before that, Traore worked as an engineer at one of Europe’s largest nuclear power plants, the European Pressurized Reactor (EPR) Flamanville 3 in France, for 4.5 years in construction planning and in project management. Previously, Traore completed a stint at Zodiac Aerospace as an engineer testing the life cycle of Airbus A320-200 cabins. The Malian national has a degree in mechanical and industrial engineering from Paris’ École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Metiers and also holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics. 

Ex-Googler David Ko (Gao Heng) holds a BS in Computer Engineering from Washington University. After graduation, he joined two startups in succession of which the latter was acquired by Google. He joined Google US and was appointed to the Shanghai Office in 2011 where he served as staff software engineer. In his eight years at Google, he worked on a number of projects, including WebCrawler, Google Finance, Google Suggest, cloud input method, AdWords.

Former banker Leslie Lim is Singaporean and holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering with Business Finance from University College London. As an undergraduate, Leslie was on the Dean’s List and graduated with first class honors, and received the Goldsmid Sessional Prize for Mechanical Engineering. He met Cicil co-founder while pursuing an MBA at INSEAD. Prior to co-founding Cicil, Leslie had worked at Barclays, HSBC, BNP Paribas Securities and Duxton Asset Management (Deutsche Bank Group).

Christian Soeseno Boenarso currently works as CMO of Chir Chir Fusion Chicken Factory, a restaurant located at Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) in Jakarta. He is also currently the owner and director of PT Suburmitra Grafistama, also known as Subur Printing Group, an online printing service which is now a business partner of Printerous. He was also a co-founder of Hype Music Asia, an event management company that organizes nightclub music events and the SHVR Ground Music Festival. 

Software engineer and entrepreneur Cristina Fonseca holds a master’s degree in Telecommunications and Software Engineering from the Technical University of Lisbon. Previous to Talkdesk, Fonseca was a researcher at INESC-ID and founded two businesses, VEEP and Bouncely. Since 2014, she has also been involved in the World Economic Forum. Fonseca developed Talkdesk with fellow co-founder Tiago Paiva at a Twilio-hosted hackathon. She left Talkdesk in 2016 to pursue her personal interests.

Portuguese national Sofia Nunes holds a bachelor’s in psychology from the Higher Institute of Applied Psychology in Lisbon and a master’s in Human-Computer Interaction from Carnegie Mellon University. She is currently head of Talent & Culture at Mambu, a startup she co-founded, where she supports a growing team of engineers, application specialists, salespeople and marketers. In 2010, Nunes worked as a Human-Computer Interaction researcher at the Helsinki Institute for Information Technology.

Joshua Kevin is one of the youngest active Indonesian startup founders. Prior to graduating from Universitas Bina Nusantara in 2013, he had worked briefly at East Ventures and Tech in Asia where he was involved in various startup-related events. After graduating with a degree in Information Systems, he founded Bridge Inc, a consultancy that helped startups to expand into Indonesia. The business was later pivoted into Talenta to provide B2B human resource management software solutions.

Francisco Castillo, aka Paco Castillo, is the CTO and co-founder of Influencity, a platform that connects brands with worldwide influencers. He is also the CTO of Satech Solutions that he co-founded in 2012. He has extensive experience in backend development such as php, python, javascript (nodejs) as well as database management (postgreSQL, Mysql) and tech-product development. In 2010, he studied video games programming at Esat-València.

Andrew Tanner Setiawan is the co-founder and CEO of Karta, a motorcycle-mounted billboard startup. After spending his early years in New Zealand, Andrew returned to Indonesia to finish high school before attending Pasadena Community College and Loyola Marymount University in the US, graduating with a bachelor's in Business Administration. After returning to Indonesia after graduation, he worked at several companies and opened a restaurant and bar before eventually establishing Karta in 2016.

Harya Putra is the co-founder of MUVE, a community of Muslim travelers, which he established while still in university. After graduating in 2016, he joined East Ventures' coworking space, EV Hive, as an expansion and partnership executive. In 2017, Harya co-founded the East Venture-supported retail startup Warung Pintar, where he is currently its COO. He holds a bachelor's degree in Information Systems and Technology from Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia. 

Thibaud Plaquet hails from France, where he earned his master's degree in Electronics and Computer Science from Polytech'Paris UPMC. He previously worked as an apprentice tech support at Philips and later became an apprentice system engineer and channel account manager at Sony. In 2016, he moved to Indonesia and met Manggala Ratulangie when the two were hired to head a joint venture. After the project wound down, they established data science startup Datanest in 2017.

Born in the 1980s in Beijing, Hou Xiaodi graduated in Computer Science at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2008. After completing his PhD in Computation and Neural Systems at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in 2014, he returned to Beijing and co-founded Cogtu Technologies that specializes in image recognition for advertising. In August 2015, he co-founded TuSimple and became its president and CTO based in San Diego, USA.

Wiradeva "Devon" Arif has been developing video games since 2007. When a group of fellow developers and gamers at the Bandung Institute of Technology decided to build their own game development company, he decided to join. Devon then became one of the 18 founding members of Agate. He continued as a developer until 2011, while also working as CFO since 2009. In 2016, he transitioned into his new role as Agate's Chief People Officer.

The one half of Indonesia’s startup power couple, Achmad Zaky founded Deft Technology, a mobile software and web development company; and Suitmedia, a digital agency; before founding BukaLapak. While studying at the Bandung Institute of Technology, he and BukaLapak co-founder Muhamad Fajrin Rasyid opened a noodle shop near their dorm. His wife is Diajeng Lestari, founder of online Islamic fashion mall HijUp.com. He was born in 1986 and holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.

Diego Gonzalez is a Galician engineer and entrepreneur with more than 15 years' experience in the financial services industry. In 2015, he co-founded Sensitrade, a revolutionary technology that captures stock market sentiment from social networks to predict stock exchange evolution with a success rate of 87%.In 2016, he co-founded Coinscrap, an app that facilitates micro-savings by rounding up purchases made with credit cards to the nearest euro.
