Founded by Finnish serial entrepreneur and angel investor Riku Asikainen, Helsinki-based Evli Growth Partners invest across market segments, with typical initial stakes of €3m–5m at Series A and B funding stages. The VC is currently building up a total fund of €200m to focus on investments in later-stage growth companies Europe. The first fund, EGP Fund I Ky, was launched in December 2018 and closed at €60m in November 2019. New funds will be set up every two years until 2028.EGP currently has seven companies in its portfolio. In 2021, Evli was co-lead investor for the $54m Series B round of Austrian refurbished electronics goods marketplace Refurbed in August, and investor lead in the €22m Series C round of Polish customized furniture design platform Tylko in March.

Chen Liangcheng completed his undergraduate and postgraduate study at Tsinghua University and earned a master's degree in Hydrology and Water Resources Engineering in 2003. In January 2005, he founded Beijing Landi Gelin Technology Co., Ltd., a building material company, and was its General Manager till July 2015, when he left to start up Geometry Healthcare and has since been its CEO. 

Moses Lo comes from an entrepreneurial family, his father acquired a failing business in Australia and turned it into a successful company. The family business inspired Lo to start his own fashion business in Australia after graduating in finance and commerce at the University of New South Wales in 2010.Lo initially gained work experience as an analyst in 2008 as part of his undergraduate finance and commerce programs in Australia. In 2011, he became an associate at the Boston Consulting Group in Australia. After two years, he was promoted to senior associate but left BCG in 2013 to focus on his menswear ventures until 2014.Lo decided to get first-hand tech startup experience in the Silicon Valley, working at Amazon while completing an MBA program at the University of California, Berkeley. In 2015, he decided to established a P2P payments platform Xendit in Indonesia. The platform has since pivoted into a payment gateway service and became a unicorn in 2021, with Lo as CEO based in California and Jakarta. He was also featured in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list for Asian figures in finance and venture capital in 2016.

Huang is co-founder and CEO of TTPOD, a cross-platform music player. He co-founded TTPOD in 2007, which, by 2013, had accumulated 200 million users and was subsequently sold to Alibaba Group. In 2015, Huang became COO of Baofeng Mojing, a VR device creator controlled by Shenzhen-listed internet company Baofeng Group. In 2016, Baofeng Mojing sold 2 million VR devices. Huang participated in Kuaipeilian's seed funding round.

Otto Christof Wüst Acedo is co-founder and COO at social media advertising firm Adsmurai while serving as advisor to The Real Plaza, an online platform for cross-border real estate transactions. He is also co-founder and the former CEO of NPAW, where he was responsible for new business generation developing and strategic relationships with customers and partners during the startup's growth phase. NPAW's funding round with Axon Partners Group was completed during his tenure as CEO.  Wüst read Telecommunications Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, has studied at Duke University and holds a MSc. in Computer Science from Pompeu Fabra University. 

Argentinian-born Verónica Costa Orvalho is a veteran in animation technology. In 2016, she became the CEO and founder of Didimo that was inspired by an earlier venture Face In Motion, established in 2007 to focus on cinematic quality and animation production of faces. Orvalho won the award for the AI and virtual reality category at a Women Startup Challenge event held in New York in 2017. Orvalho has a long academic track record in related fields, beginning with a first degree in Software Engineering from the University of Belgrano in Buenos Aires. She moved to Barcelona and obtained a master's degree in Videogame Design and Development at University Pompeu Fabra where she continued to work on creating a facial animation system “For CG Films”. She later completed her PhD at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia with her thesis: Fast and Reusable Facial Rigging and Animation to develop an application that could speed up the traditional “slowing rigging” process. She has worked at Ericsson as a systems analyst and was a producer at the Argentinian film company Patagonik Film Group that helped to produce the Oscar-winning movie El hijo de la novia. She worked for four years as the founder of Panorama Consulting, a consultancy focusing on developing systems for the medical, logistics and entertainment industries. Since 2003, she has lectured in different institutions, including Porto University's Porto Interactive Center as its specialist in facial animation since 2008.

David Katz is the Canadian co-founder, president and CEO of Plastic Bank, a-first-of-a-kind social enterprise startup that monetizes plastic waste collection for some of the world’s poorest communities. Katz was inspired by a university seminar about recycling plastic waste in 2013 and founded Plastic Bank with CTO and brand strategist Shaun Frankson in Vancouver.In 2019, he became a fellow for the Unreasonable Group’s Impact Hub in Vancouver, an organization that supports social and environmental entrepreneurship. In 2011, he also founded Vancouver’s Core Values Institute, a consulting and global thought leadership platform for entrepreneurs.In 2014, he was also president of Vancouver’s chapter of the Entrepreneurs Organization for one year. He was named Global Citizen of the Year in 2014 by the international organization that has a network of over 10,000 business owners in 131 chapters across 40 countries. He also won the 2017 UN Lighthouse award for Planetary Health and Plastic Bank received the Paris COP21 Climate Conference Sustania Community Award in 2015.Katz completed a diploma in Hospitality Administration & Management at the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 1991 and started his own business in 1992 as founder and CEO of Nero Alarms. From 2005 to 2014, Katz worked full-time as the founder and president of Nero Global Tracking, a SaaS platform created to monitor the operations of mobile service vehicles. Nero SaaS is used in many Canadian cities and by the nation’s Defence Ministry. The company is now part of Vecima Networks Inc.

After graduating from the University of Porto in 2004, André Moniz worked as a software engineer at companies such as Indra, Montepio Geral and Optimus Telecommunications. In 2017, the fullstack developer and product manager joined Untold Ventures to make various apps. In 2018, he became the CTO and co-founder of BetProtocol, together with Tradiio's Miguel Leite.The serial entrepreneur worked as Tradiio's CTO before becoming the music platform's co-founder in 2014. Previous ventures include Portugal's first dating site, amiguinhos.com (2002), software company Blip.pt (2009), WeGoOut (2012) and music festival tourism business Get a Fest (2013).

Oscar Serra is a co-founder and co-CEO as well as a big-data scientist at Deep Solutions, a producer of deep neural network software for image recognition. He combines this role with a multi-disciplinary management role in his family's €15m-revenue industrial machinery company Serra Workshops, where he has worked since 2010. Prior to this, he worked at Honda Research Institute Europe in Germany as a software programmer for one year, and as a PhD researcher in computer vision, deep learning and neural networks at Barcelona's Institute of Robotics and Industrial Information Systems (IRI). Serra has a total of five Master's degrees: Programming, Robotics, Neuroscience, Computer Vision, and an MBA. He has studied at Hult International Business School in San Francisco,  Lumière University Lyon 2 in France, at Barcelona's IRI and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. 

Tony Fadell is the inventor of the iPod, co-inventor of the iPhone, and former CEO and founder of Nest Labs, which was later acquired by Google. He is also an angel investor and head of Paris-based deeptech advisory and investing firm Future Shape, which has over 200 companies in its portfolio and a focus on issues like the electrification and digital connection of things, biomanufacturing and the eradication of waste. Fadell has invested in at least 10 startups, with his most recent disclosed investments having taken place in 4Q20. These included his participation in the $7m seed round of London-based consumer technology and conceptual design house Nothing, the $45m Series B round of US biotech firm and vegan leather maker MycoWorks, well as the $31m Series A round of video call effects and presentation tools company mmhmm. 

Beta-i was established in 2010 as a Portuguese accelerator, incubator and event organizer to boost the Portuguese tech ecosystem. Beta-i is well-known for organizing some of Portugal's most successful accelerators and the annual tech startup event Lisbon Investment Summit. In 2019, it made its first investment in a startup Didimo by joining the seed round for the 3D digital twin designer platform.The company's best known acceleration program Lisbon Challenge is a twice yearly event open to all tech sectors, attracting around 10 participants based in Portugal and overseas. Its two-month programs have accelerated more than 200 startups, with about 75% coming from abroad. Beta-i also organizes the international energy accelerator Free Electrons, with EDP as one of its sponsors. Free Electrons has already accelerated 27 startups and is now running its third edition with 15 startups, five of which are Portugal-based. All the selected participants will have the chance to work for one year with at least one of the 10 global energy utilities that form the Free Electrons consortium. Another Beta-i event is The Journey, the first accelerator in Portugal dedicated to tourism tech startups from all over the world. Launched in partnership with the government's Portugal Tourism in 2017, the Lisbon-based program is part of the national Tourism 4.0 plan. The five-month program is now in its third edition and gives successful applicants the opportunity to develop pilot projects with Portuguese companies like the Vila Galé hotel chain, Barraqueiro transport company and Parques de Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Based in Linz, Klaus Hofbauer is an angel investor via his investment vehicle HOKL Ventures and the co-founder and CEO of Austria’s leading career job portal Karriere.at, established in 2004. As an angel investor, Hofbauer’s investments have included agriculture marketplace Markta, second-hand electronics marketplace Refurbed and leisure fishing booking site Hejfish. As a shareholder, he  joined Refurbed as a board member in 2020.  

Khosla Ventures is a Silicon Valley-based VC, founded in 2004 by Indian-born founder of tech pioneer Sun Microsystems Vinod Khosla. The company has no specific interest in terms of sector but heavily favors “large problems that are amenable to technology solutions” and invests in so-called high potential  'black swans´. Healthcare is a strong focus and its most recent investments include in the Portuguese home physiotherapy tech solution SWORD Health's 2021 $85m Series C and $25m Series B rounds besides its 2020 $17m Series A round which it led. Khosla has over $5bn under management and more than 70 staff, with investments in more than 700 startups, leading more than one-third. Other recent investments include in the July 2021 $75m Series C round of Indian personal health and fitness app HealthifyMe and, the same month, in the $12.5m Series A round of US commercial real estate app for tenants and property managers Jones. 

Formerly known as hoopCHINA.com, Hupu is a sports news portal founded by Yang Bing and Cheng Hang at the end of 2003. Its business has expanded to include social networking, e-commerce and sports marketing. In June 2019, Hupu raised RMB1.26 billion in its pre-IPO funding round from ByteDance, TikTok's parent company. Hupu has incubated e-marketplace for trending sports gears Shihuo and sneakers resale platform Poizon. The latter became an independent business as a spin-off from Hupu in 2018. Poizon became a unicorn when its valuation exceeded US$1 billion in April 2019 due to a Series A funding round led by DST Global. 

Karaniya Dharmasaputra is a media industry veteran, trained in public policy and communications-related affairs. He was managing editor at TEMPO, an Indonesian news magazine and had a brief stint as a broadcast journalist with Voice of America (VOA). In 2008, Karaniya left TEMPO to establish VIVA, a news and entertainment portal. He subsequently moved on from VIVA in 2013 to establish Bareksa, an online investment portal dedicated to mutual funds.Karaniya is also President Director of KLY Digital Media Group, a holding company for digital content platforms owned by Emtek.
