Founded in 2017, Rekanext Capital Partners Pte Ltd is an early-stage VC firm based in Singapore and Jakarta. The VC focuses on scaling high potential startups in Southeast Asia to expand regionally by providing expertise, industry experience and networks. Its diverse investment portfolio includes agri-crowdfunding platform iGrow, chat and customer service developer Qiscus and architecture-focused VR Collab that has operations in Singapore and China.

Indonesia’s first unicorn, Gojek started out providing on-demand app-powered motorcycle taxi services. The company quickly grew as it added more services, making use of its large fleet of riders and eventually branching out into logistics and payments. It has recently made investments in other companies, including Bangladeshi bike-taxi service Pathao, insurtech startup PasarPolis and has acquired payment tech companies Midtrans, Kartuku and Mapan. 

Founded in 1973 in Hong Kong, CCB International is a financial and investment services company owned by China Construction Bank Corporation (CCB). Through its subsidiaries, the company provides customers worldwide with services including direct investment, underwriting, financial advisory, corporate mergers and acquisitions, asset management and securities brokerage. CCB International (Holdings) serves customers worldwide. Its core business is divided into three main areas:  pre-IPO, IPO and post-IPO.

He received his bachelor’s from the South China University of Technology in 1999. In 2004, he co-founded Chinese mobile internet software and services provider UCWeb. In 2014, He both founded and invested in Xpeng Motors (short for Xiaopeng Motors). After UCWeb was acquired by Alibaba in 2014, he served as president of UCWeb and of the Alibaba Mobile Business Group, chairman of Ali Games and president of Tudou successively. In August 2017, he left Alibaba to join Xpeng Motors full-time as chairman.

Haoqipei Founder and CEO Chen Xi graduated from Tianjin University's Special Class for the Gifted Young. He is a serial entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in the gaming and social networking sectors. Before founding Haoqipei in 2016, Chen co-founded corporate management  solutions provider Redsoft, mobile gaming startup CMF Mobile Game, mobile marketing solution provider CMF Mobile and business social networking startup Renmaitong. 

Mario Fernández Marín is Co-founder of railway consultancy firm SigmaRail and is also its product manager. From 2004 to 2008, Fernández undertook internships at several Spanish and French enterprises including Unión Fenosa, Dusco-SesameTV, Groupe Assonance and IRCICA. He was a research engineer at the Polytechnic University of Madrid before joining Airbus in 2009, where he working at both its Paris and Madrid operations. He later became Lead Design Engineer at both Siemens and Thales for three years. Fernández is a telecommunications engineering graduate of the Polytechnic University of Madrid. 

Sabrina Mustopo is the founder and CEO of Krakakoa Chocolate, a "farmer-to-bar" social enterprise that works directly with smallholder cocoa farmers to produce chocolate. She is also an independent consultant with experience in strategy, project management, agriculture and sustainable development. Mustopo previously worked in Singapore as an associate and research analyst for international consultancy McKinsey & Co., where she focused on climate change and agricultural topics and served public sector clients in the Asia-Pacific region and East Africa. She graduated magna cum laude from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, with a Bachelor of Science degree in International Agriculture and Rural Development.

Ronald Ishak has been involved in tech startups since 2008 when he became Web Applications Manager, Online Trading at PT Ciptadana Capital and led a team of developers to build an online stock trading app for the Indonesian Stock Exchange. In August 2009, he became CTO at web developer company, PT Domikado, and left in January 2014 when the company was acquired. Meanwhile, in 2010, he co-founded his first (short-lived) company, which developed a photo sharing app for mobile platforms. For nine months from November 2014, he was CTO at PT Giftcard Indonesia, which distributes digital giftcards for brands. In 2016, he co-founded Hacktiv8, a training center that runs web development bootcamps and other programming courses, with Riza Fahmi and is its CEO. Ishak is also partner at RMKB Ventures, an Indonesian VC that has backed, among others, insurtech firm Qoala, “CTO-as-a-service” startup Rebel Works and Hacktiv8.

Initially trained as an electrical engineer at Thanlyin Technological University in 2009, Okka Phyo Maung went on to obtain a joint degree in American studies, sustainable and green tech from Colorado State University and Daejeon University in South Korea. He also provided research and technical support for two local universities while studying in Korea.In 2013, he went to study at Vesalius College in Brussels and graduated in business administration in 2017. While living in Brussels, he gained work experience as a data analyst at Management Centre Europe and was a cost consultant at Bridgewater Consulting.In Myanmar, he has worked as a project coordinator for the construction of telecoms towers in 2013. He was also an advisory consultant for accounting firm EY’s financial due diligence projects. In 2018, he began working full-time as the CFO and CMO of RecyGlo, Myanmar’s first waste management and recycling tech company.

Vinod Kumar originally founded Samrat Wears clothing company in India in 1993 and went on to graduate in mechanical engineering in 1997 at BMS College of Engineering in India.In 2000, he completed a master’s in supply chain management, industrial and manufacturing systems engineering at Ohio University in the US. He started his career at Bell Labs as a product engineer. In 2000, he worked at telco Alcatel-Lucent that later became part of Nokia. In 2008, he held various senior roles and became senior director at tech company Juniper Networks in Silicon Valley. In 2013, he joined his wife Ezhil Subbian to set up String Bio in India. He became a full-time managing director of the company in 2015. In 2019, he became a fellow member at Unreasonable, an investment fund and organization for supporting innovative entrepreneurs to solve social and environmental issues worldwide.

Abdoulaye Maiga is CTO and co-founder at Teliman, Mali’s first on-demand mobility startup and one of francophone Africa’s first, where he has worked since its launch in 2018.  Before that, he was CTO and co-founder at French real estate startup Wemblee where he still works part-time from Mali, initially simultaneously working as a salesforce administrator and developer in chemical company SEPPIC.Maiga previously worked at Rakuten in Tokyo for one year as a research and development VR scientist and also completed a stint at Accenture in Paris as an information system consultant. He also completed short stints in engineering at BCS Group in New Zealand and in business development at EATOPS in the Netherlands. The Malian national obtained two master’s degrees in innovation economics from Universite Paris-Saclay (2017) and in computer science from Keio University in Tokyo (2015), after winning scholarships to study overseas. 

Nitesh Kadyan (also known as Nitesh Kumar) is a computer scientist, robotics engineer, inventor, maker and hacker. He was one of the three co-founders of Graviky Labs, a startup producing ink from captured carbon emissions. He worked at Graviky Labs from 2016–2018, during which he led its hardware development and prototyping. Currently, he works as a senior creative technologist at Lowe's Innovation Labs India.Kadyan holds a degree in computer science from the International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore and did a research stint on AI and robotics at Freie University, Berlin. His background includes expertise in machine learning and embedded systems. Kadyan’s past projects include self-driving model cars, autonomous smart wheelchairs, an augmented reality interface for laser cutting, as well as machines that sketch and draw. He also founded a startup that does 3D printing in nearly any material, from plastic and metallic clay to chocolate, playdoh and fabric, and which was incubated at MIT Global Startup Labs 2014.Kadyan was named one of Foreign Policy magazine’s Top 100 Global Thinkers in 2016. He is a recipient of the Campus Diaries 25 Under 25 award, and is a two-time speaker at TEDx.

Born in 1973, Li graduated from the School of Philosophy at Renmin University of China in 1997. After graduating, he worked as an IT journalist for China Youth Daily, where he interviewed tech giants such as Jack Ma. In early 2003, Li became chief editor of the IT section of web portal Sohu and then joined web portal NetEase as chief editor of its IT section later that year. In 2005, he resigned from NetEase and founded gaming portal Duowan. In 2008, Li founded YY Inc., a live streaming social media platform that went public on Nasdaq in 2012.

Formerly known as hoopCHINA.com, Hupu is a sports news portal founded by Yang Bing and Cheng Hang at the end of 2003. Its business has expanded to include social networking, e-commerce and sports marketing. In June 2019, Hupu raised RMB1.26 billion in its pre-IPO funding round from ByteDance, TikTok's parent company. Hupu has incubated e-marketplace for trending sports gears Shihuo and sneakers resale platform Poizon. The latter became an independent business as a spin-off from Hupu in 2018. Poizon became a unicorn when its valuation exceeded US$1 billion in April 2019 due to a Series A funding round led by DST Global.

One of Huawei’s earliest staff in Eastern Europe/the Balkans (2003-7), opening offices in Hungary and Croatia, Li Qin’s experience of Huawei’s rise in Europe provided fodder for her semi-autobiographical novel, A Thousand Li of Barren Land.
