UOB Venture Management is a private equity firm backed by the United Overseas Bank (UOB). It invests in growing companies at their expansion stages, with special focus on the Southeast Asia and China markets. Its portfolio is diverse, ranging from food and health companies to petrochemicals and tech businesses like Giosis (which operates e-commerce site Qoo10) and AI-powered marketing service startup Appier.

After graduating in 2014, he established a web development agency CelsiusTech that was closed down a year later. Welly joined Kalvin Yap to develop rewards app Paprika and also worked for seven months as a development team lead at Medan’s e-tailer Otten Coffee in 2015.

Serial entrepreneur Huang Pu (Pitt) is based in China and exited his first Groupon inspired startup at the age of 25. In 2010, the Xi An Polytechnic University engineer became the CEO of mobile social and gaming app publisher Dingzai Co Ltd. In December 2016, he co-founded e-payments app Pundi-Pundi. Pitt is based in Shenzhen as CTO and COO of Pundi X, incorporated as Wokoworks Private Limited in China.

Founder and CEO of Nongfenqi. Serial entrepreneur. Zhou studied E-commerce at the Dongbei University of Finance and Economics. Before founding Nongfenqi, he spent ten years trying to start other businesses. Zhou tried building websites for tourism, private detectives, etc. His real success was a company that helped computer game users buy virtual game tokens. Zhou used the same team and the money he made from his computer game company to found Nongfenqi.

Zhang graduated with a master’s degree in Remote Sensing and Information Engineering from Wuhan University in 2012. Upon graduation, he joined Huawei Technologies and worked there for six months. Later in 2012, he left Huawei to co-found Geetest with Wu Yuan.

First-time entrepreneur Steve Wirawan graduated in 2009 from Penn State University, USA, with a double major in Marketing and Economics. He then returned to Indonesia and worked as a research associate at Citibank until 2012. He worked as a real estate consultant for over two years before becoming the co-founder and CEO of digital storytelling platform Storial in 2015.

Roberto Ugo has had a business-driven mindset since he was young, having opened his first “bank”, albeit a simple family one, at aged five. Ugo majored in Data Telecommunications and Networks and E-Business at Boston University and the University of the West of Scotland, respectively. He also specialized in Computer Science at the University of Porto. Ugo went on to co-found Movvo, where he was CTO. He left the position in January 2017.

Pedro Moura combines his knowledge of Computer Science and Sociology – the former as a graduate of the Instituto Superior Technico and the latter as a postgraduate of the University of Evora – in his line of work. Moura started his career co-founding several companies such as social shopping platform Wishareit and e-commerce social platform GetSocial, where he served as CTO. He is currently an adviser for the latter and is the CEO of mobile software platform Mobizy.

Co-founded Orange 100 with Leng Fei. From 2014 to 2016, Yuan was a senior manager at Baidu's Location Based Services division. From 2013 to 2014, he was in charge of business operations at yintai.com, an online department store run by Intime Retail Group Co Ltd. He received his bachelor's degree in E-commerce from Wuhan University of Science and Technology City College in 2011.

Jeff Hendrata co-founded motorcycle-mounted billboard firm Karta in 2016. He started his first company, digital media agency Brit-e2, in 2012 after graduating from Universitas Bina Nusantara with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Between 2012 and 2015, Jeff acted as Brit-e's CEO, overseeing projects with major clients, including Indonesia's fourth largest bank, CIMB Niaga and consumer products group Orang Tua. He remains an advisor to Brit-e after Karta was established.

With an educational background in finance and business, Xu spent seven years working in investment banking upon graduating from Columbia University in 2005. She worked at Deutsche Bank and Macquarie Capital in Hong Kong, where she helped major Chinese e-commerce companies such as Vipshop, Moonbasa and Alibaba with their overseas IPOs, among other financial needs. She is a CFA Charterholder. Xu founded Shanghai Qiansong Internet Technology Co., Ltd., the parent company of MSParis, in 2014.

Dominik Laurus is a co-founder o  interactive video platform TADO, which was established in 2017. Between 2015 and 2017, Dominik was an assistant manager at e-commerce website Blibli. He had also spent two years with Amazon at Seattle, USA as a transportation management system analyst and had a brief stint as an engineer at Boeing. Dominik earned his bachelor's in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Washington, USA. 

Li Yuqiong graduated from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in Software Engineering. She then worked as a product manager at Taobao, the B2C e-marketplace of Alibaba, until she co-founded DuduBus in 2015.  She has since been DuduBus' COO.

Formerly known as hoopCHINA.com, Hupu is a sports news portal founded by Yang Bing and Cheng Hang at the end of 2003. Its business has expanded to include social networking, e-commerce and sports marketing. In June 2019, Hupu raised RMB1.26 billion in its pre-IPO funding round from ByteDance, TikTok's parent company. Hupu has incubated e-marketplace for trending sports gears Shihuo and sneakers resale platform Poizon. The latter became an independent business as a spin-off from Hupu in 2018. Poizon became a unicorn when its valuation exceeded US$1 billion in April 2019 due to a Series A funding round led by DST Global. 

Based in Lisbon, Filipa Neto graduated in Economics at the Catholic University of Portugal in 2012. She co-founded her first business with college friend Lara Vidreiro at the age of 21. They went on to establish Chic by Choice in 2014 and were listed in Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe 2018: Retail and E-commerce. In December 2017, Neto also started working for Farfetch as a principal innovation specialist and mentor for its accelerator program Dream Assembly.
