Global Brain Corporation is an early stage venture capital fund based in Tokyo, Japan. It was founded in 1998 and has expanded globally, with offices in South Korea’s Seoul, Southeast Asia and Silicon Valley, USA. Leveraging its global network, the company aims to nurture world-class venture companies through investments and hands-on support. It also offers corporate venture capital fund management services and currently manages three such funds.

With about US$20 billion under management worldwide, New York-headquartered Tiger Global Management was founded in 2000 with US$25 million by billionaire Charles "Chase“ Coleman. In 2015, the name was changed to Vostok New Ventures and shortened to VNV Global in 2020 to reflect its international strategy to expand outside Europe.The mid-cap NASDAQ Stockholm exchange-listed VNV mainly invests in mobility, medtech and marketplaces. It currently has 31 startups in its portfolio and six exits managed to date. Recent investments led by VNV include the $43m Series B funding of London-based food waste app OLIO in September 2021 and the $1.6m seed round of Vietnamese dating app Fika in October 2021. 

Founded in 2001, Mitsui Global Investment is a subsidiary of Mitsui & Co. The firm typically invests in the US, and has offices in Silicon Valley, New York, Shanghai, Beijing and Mumbai.

Global Investment Fund (GIF) is an impact investment fund supporting new ventures that are solving social problems in the developing world. Besides investing through debt, equity investments and SAFE (simple agreement for future equity) contracts, GIF also disburses grants for social enterprises. It invests in various sectors, including agriculture and aquaculture, health, education, water and fintech.

It specializes in developing business relationships for portfolio startups with global corporates such as Maersk, Shell and the Dutch Ministry of Health. Rockstart has invested in more than 250 startups, valued at €750m in total.Launched in 2019, Rockstart’s €22m agrifood fund secured investment partners including Vaekstfonden’s Green Future Fund and global dairy cooperative Arla Foods. It has invested in 20 food enterprises like Swiss zero-waste supermarket Lyfa and Danish alt-leather startup Beyond Leather Materials in 2021. Rockstart’s energy fund recently invested in the €730,000 pre-seed round of Danish carbon sequestration corporate marketplace, Klimate, in September 2021. Exits include Wercker, iClinic, Brincr and 3D Hubs.

Known online as "Flypig”, this Nankai University graduate was half of the duo that produced Fanpo (Antiwave), a podcast series on foreign and Chinese media that won the 2005 Deutsche Welle's Global Best Podcast. Lin was also chief designer and founder of design brand Da Code; was responsible for launching Youku Buzz marketing programs targeted at Western advertisers and internet users. Velos Partners brands itself as a Consumer Growth Capital Fund investing in companies at the intersection of consumer and technology. Based in Los Angeles, USA, its global portfolio includes women focused e-commerce site Orami, wearable tech firm Doppler Labs and property listing site 99.co.

Founded in September 2019 by Patrick Morris, Eat Beyond went public on the Canadian Securities Exchange in November 2020. The company’s shares are also traded on the Frankfurt Exchange in Germany and OTC Markets in the US. Morris had worked in capital markets for over 15 years and wanted to find a solution to help retail investors access the emerging markets of alt-proteins and other future food sectors.First of its kind in Canada, the Eat Beyond Global Investment Fund focuses on four key areas: meat, seafood, eggs, and dairy. It also participates in cell agriculture and other experimental projects. Current investments include foodtechs and alt-food source companies working on plant-based proteins, fermented proteins, cultured proteins, agriculture and consumer packaged goods.

Based in Singapore, GreenMeadows Accelerator (GMA) is a VC firm that provides incubator and accelerator services. GMA mainly invests in advanced manufacturing, engineering and clean/green-tech sectors. Enterprise Singapore Startup Equity SG is its co-investment partner. 

Founded in Sydney in 2004, Artesian Capital Management (Australia) Pty Ltd is a global alternative investment management firm specialized in public and private debt, venture capital and impact investment strategies. The VC was a spin-off from ANZ Banking Group’s capital markets business, backed by ANZ Private Equity. Artesian’s founding partners Jeremy Colless, Matthew Clunies-Ross and John McCartney bought ANZ’s stake in 2005.Today, Artesian has international offices in New York, London, Singapore, Jakarta and Shanghai. Its China VC Fund was launched in 2017 and the firm also has plans for a Southeast Asia VC Fund. The alternative investment firm currently manages multiple funds including Australian VC Fund 2, High Impact Green Debt Fund, GrainInnovate and Women Economic Empowerment Fund.

Self-styled “professional trash talker” Olivier Pouillon moved from the USA to Bali, Indonesia in 1994, set on a mission to solve the island’s trash problem. In 2011, after years of waste consultancy and NGO work, he founded Bali Recycling, a company that produces upcycled products and promotes “trash-to-cash” programs to locals. (The company has since been renamed KONO Green Living.) In 2014, he and interior designer Febriadi Pratama started an app-based trash collection service, which later became Gringgo.
