Established in 2016, Alphax Partners invests in rapidly growing internet companies. Founding partners include Thor Hongchuan, founder of Highland Capital China, Yao Yaping, an investment banker with 11 years of experience, and Yu Guangdong, former senior vice president of Chinese internet security company Qihoo 360. In May 2018, Alphax Partners raised RMB 2bn in total capital commitments for its debut fund. 

Established in 2015, EQT Ventures is a Stockholm-based investor that describes itself as "half VC, half startup." It has invested in more than 50 companies, acting as lead investor in almost two-thirds of its investments, to date, of a total investment fund of €566m. EQT Ventures invests across sectors locally and globally and has successfully managed the exits of two Scandinavian startups.

Established in Shenzhen in 2007, Share Capital has invested in over 100 companies. Some of its portfolio companies – e.g., NavInfo, Perfect World and BGI – have gone public. Its investment team of nearly 50 members manages more than RMB 6 billion worth of assets. Share Capital has set up a healthcare fund of RMB 1.5 billion and invested in over 70 health-related projects.

Founded in Beijing in 2010 with a registered capital of RMB 12m, Hongdao Capital manages six RMB funds and one US dollar fund, totaling RMB 2bn. It has invested in over 80 companies, including unicorns Ofo, WeDoctor, Wecash, and Renrendai.com. The sectors it has invested in include, internet-based finance, corporate services, healthcare and AI. Its investment size ranges from RMB 500,000 to RMB 50m. 

Sony is a Japanese multinational conglomerate established in 1946. It has a high number of acquisitions, investing in more than 20 tech startups and companies manufacturing technology products. It also has a seed investment fund, Seed Acceleration Program, launched in April 2014 to promote ideas that are beyond existing business categories and develop them for commercialization.

Marta Palmeiro graduated in Business Administration and Management at Portugal's Nova School of Business and Economics in 2007. She went to London to work at Credit Suisse as an intern and joined the bank's graduate program in 2007. She stayed in London until 2010 and went on to work at Credit Suisse in Madrid until July 2016. She has completed courses in fintech and blockchain business strategy run by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Oxford university's Said Business School respectively.  In 2018, she became a board member of Portugal Fintech, an NGO overseeing the development of the country's fintech ecosystem. In August 2019, the mother-of-three became a fintech entrepreneur as the Portuguese co-founder and CFO of StudentFinance.

UK-born serial entrepreneur Edward Hamilton founded his first tech startup, Lavalocker, in Barcelona in 2013 to provide on-demand laundry and dry-cleaning services. He later built on the smart-locker technology to establish Mayordomo that launched Smart Point in 2016, a digital vending system with smart lockers to offer personal shopping, delivery and pickups for over 200 categories of goods and services. Hamilton graduated in Business Administration from Berkeley, University of California in 2000. He worked for almost four years at WP Carey & Co in New York specializing in investments and acquisitions. In March 2006, he moved to London to work as a real estate equity investment manager at Barclay’s Capital. In 2010, he went to Spain to work as a Green Bean business coach for SMEs based in Barcelona. His latest venture is Droppo, which he co-founded in 2019. Based in Barcelona, Droppo is a zero-emission electric last-mile logistics transport network.

SkyDeck Berkeley is the startup accelerator initiated by the University of California, Berkeley. It was established to commercialize the university’s research arm and startup ventures of its alumni. It provides non-equity funding assistance, mentorship and networking opportunities, as well as specialist resources for not-for-profit ventures.Since 2012, SkyDeck-backed startups have raised total funding of over $1.47bn, with 17 achieving exits through acquisitions. The accelerator’s investment-arm is Berkeley SkyDeck Fund also invests about $100,000 per startup during the program. Half of the SkyDeck fund’s profits goes to UC Berkeley to support public education projects. The fund is run by Chon Tang as managing partner and Brian Bordley as principal. Contributors to the fund include private individuals, corporations and VCs like Sequoia Capital, Sierra Ventures and Canvas Ventures.

Lever VC was founded in 2018 by Nick Cooney, an early investor of Beyond Meat and Memphis Meats. He is also the co-founder of Good Food Institute. Lever has currently invested in 14 startups from the US, Europe, Asia and Latin America.Focused on investments in early-stage alternative protein companies, the firm announced the first close of its Lever VC Fund I in August 2020, with its fourth close at $46m in April 2021. The final close will be completed by June 2021. Investors in the fund include NFL and NBA athletes, British nobility, food businesses, alt-protein companies and family offices as limited partners.In June 2020, Lever launched a $28m joint investment fund and accelerator to invest in Chinese plant-based and cell-cultivated meat and dairy companies. The Lever China Alternative Protein Fund will invest RMB 40m in alt-protein companies in mainland China over the next four years.

Seed Capital Bizkaia is a division the Department of Economic and Territorial Development of Bizkaia province. Created in 1991, the seed capital investment fund supports the growth of small businesses with established operations in Spain's Bizkaia region. The firm invests in startups from different business sectors in the form of participatory loans or by contributing up to €300,000, with share participation of up to 45%.

Established in 2011, Shilling Capital Partners is a Portuguese angel investment fund and one of the three subsidiaries of Mogope, a Portuguese investment manager, whose partners are also co-founders of Shilling. To date, the company has invested in 18 startups, both tech and bricks-and-mortar, and has managed three exits, including BestTables that was acquired by TripAdvisor. It typically invests between €250,000 and €1m in seed and Series A rounds and ensures liquidity until the next funding round, or when the startup becomes capable of funding its own growth. Recent investments include petcare marketplace Barkyn, healthy meal service delivery app EatTasty and blockchain-based online betting application BetProtocol. 

Founded in 2008, the US-based Kickstart Fund specializes in supporting midwestern US startups in Utah, Colorado and the Mountain West. The community investment platform has more than 110 companies in its portfolio valued at over $300m. It invests across all market segments, mostly in companies based in Utah, with a few in New Mexico and the UK.Recent investments in May 2021 include participation in the Series A $12m funding of Vence and $1.5m seed round of skincare marketplace, Pomp. In July 2021, it also joined the $4.5m investment round of retail SaaS provider Clientbook.
