Highly successful serial entrepreneur Justin Luo has co-founded major real estate media company Sina Leju and China Real Estate Information Group, which went on to list on Nasdaq, and more recently, Tujia. He has a degree in accounting from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.

Meidy Fitranto is an experienced business analyst and manager with an industrial engineering background. Between 2010 and 2014, he filled supply chain management roles at two oil & gas companies, PT Energi Mega Persada and Kangean Energy Indonesia Ltd. In 2016, he established Nodeflux, a computer vision startup.

Agustín Tourón Gil is a physicist from Galicia. He was the founder of Streaming Galicia, an online event broadcaster. He has also co-founded and become the COO of Councilbox, a blockchain-powered legal tech SaaS that registers and validates certifications and remote corporate meetings.

Roger Federer, the Swiss 20-times Grand Slam tennis champion, has turned into an angel investor while planning his professional life beyond and after his tennis sports career.In 2019, he invested in On, the Swiss running shoe manufacturer for an undisclosed funding amount. Federer currently has no formal role in the company but he’s actively involved in its R&D and product development. “I feel like I can give input on any of the lines, the shoes, anything moving forward. I can give my opinion on anything and On can either take it or leave it. I feel like [with] a major brand like Nike, that's literally impossible. It just wouldn't work,” he has said.More recently, Federer participated in a Series D funding round backing the first Chilean unicorn NotCo, which sells plant-based food and beverage products across Latin America and the US. 

Founded in 2012 in San Francisco, Joyance invests in the “vectors of happiness” that it classifies as areas of science, including genetics and bioscience, the microbiome, neuroscience, virtual and augmented reality,  and foodtech. It also invests in the area of social networking. Its investments are made through its management company, Ataraxia, and many have a European focus. It currently has 115 companies in its portfolio, with recent investments including in the August 2021 $3.6m seed round of Polish bionic limb manufacturer and in the July 2021 $8m Series A round of Israeli sports injury AI platform Zone7. 

Mehak Mumtaz grew up in Pakistan and decided to study biochemistry when she saw her brother suffering from an unknown learning disability. Her parents, both medical doctors, could not get an accurate diagnosis for their son.  In her search to understand the molecular mechanisms behind diseases, she applied to study at the University of Oxford. In 2008, she was granted the Reach Oxford Scholarship and graduated with a master’s in biochemistry in 2012. In 2015, the St Hilda’s alumna worked as an undergraduate tutor at Oxford while completing a PhD in pathology, specializing in oncology and cancer biology.In 2018, she worked on a rare cancer project as EIT Health Business Innovation fellow for a year. She left academia and joined a three-month bioentrepreneur bootcamp in Munich and a one-month Lev8 Woman Program at her alma mater’s Oxford Foundry. She joined EY-Parthenon in London as a strategy consultant in April 2019.In 2019, Mumtaz also met the iLoF co-founding team at the EIT Health Wild Card venture-building program. iLoF is a medtech startup that focuses on personalized medicine through the use of AI and photonics to create optical fingerprints in a cloud-based library to gather and manages disease biomarkers and biological profiles.She joined iLoF as COO and co-founder in December 2019 and left her full-time consultancy role at EY in March 2020.

Bryan McEire was born in Costa Rica but spent most of his life in Spain and Belgium. The CTO of Spotahome has computer and software engineering degrees from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid and Université Libre de Bruxelles.Together with CEO Artacho, McEire tried to raise funds for Spotahome during the early days. However, investors were not interested and both went separate ways for a while. Artacho returned from London and approached McEire to revive Spotahome with new audiovisual viewings by home checkers. He had previously worked in the business intelligence, infrastructure and real estate sectors.

Winner of the 2016 EU Prize for Women Innovators, Portuguese national Susana Sargento has been a professor at the University of Aveiro for almost 16 years. She received her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the same university. Her main research interests are self-organized networks, e.g., routing, mobility, delay-tolerant mechanisms and content distribution networks, in ad-hoc and vehicular mechanisms and protocols. In 2012, she co-founded Veniam, a tech startup for connected and autonomous vehicles, where she also worked in engineering and corporate research from 2012 until 2014. She advises the European Commission in her areas of expertise.

Freire Rodrigues is the Portuguese co-founder and CEO at UpHill, whose SaaS helps healthcare professionals keep up-to-speed on the latest clinical treatments and protocols using AI. He also continues to be an invited assistant teacher at Lisbon’s NOVA Medical School’s Faculty of Medical Sciences, where he completed a master’s in Medicine and worked full-time for three years prior to UpHill. He additionally collaborates in public healthcare at the ARSLVT healthcare company in Lisbon. He has worked as a resident physician at public hospitals in Lisbon and Paris.Freire Rodrigues also completed clinical scholars research training at Harvard Medical School and gained a qualification in Information Management and Business Intelligence in Healthcare at NOVA Information Management School in Lisbon.

Former banker Leslie Lim is Singaporean and holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering with Business Finance from University College London. As an undergraduate, Leslie was on the Dean’s List and graduated with first class honors, and received the Goldsmid Sessional Prize for Mechanical Engineering. He met Cicil co-founder while pursuing an MBA at INSEAD. Prior to co-founding Cicil, Leslie had worked at Barclays, HSBC, BNP Paribas Securities and Duxton Asset Management (Deutsche Bank Group).

Software engineer and entrepreneur Cristina Fonseca holds a master’s degree in Telecommunications and Software Engineering from the Technical University of Lisbon. Previous to Talkdesk, Fonseca was a researcher at INESC-ID and founded two businesses, VEEP and Bouncely. Since 2014, she has also been involved in the World Economic Forum. Fonseca developed Talkdesk with fellow co-founder Tiago Paiva at a Twilio-hosted hackathon. She left Talkdesk in 2016 to pursue her personal interests.

Pedro Moura combines his knowledge of Computer Science and Sociology – the former as a graduate of the Instituto Superior Technico and the latter as a postgraduate of the University of Evora – in his line of work. Moura started his career co-founding several companies such as social shopping platform Wishareit and e-commerce social platform GetSocial, where he served as CTO. He is currently an adviser for the latter and is the CEO of mobile software platform Mobizy.

An insider and serial entrepreneur in the Chinese internet industry for more than a decade, Wu Yongjun graduated from Nanjing University, majoring in Computer Science. He founded/co-founded Hotlong Software, Huiyang Games Studio and 51yangzhao (a taxi service app) from 2000 to 2010. Inspired by Chen Yunjun (co-founder and COO of Keyfare), Wu started developing Keyfare in 2013 and launched it in 2015. He is currently CEO of Keyfare.
