Juan Margenat, a civil engineer with an MBA, is a serial entrepreneur. He is also an active business angel within the Spanish investment ecosystem. He has invested in and mentored tech startups like Kantox, Habitissimo, Deporvillage and Captio. Margenat is the founder and former CEO of PlanB!, part of the leading tourist company Barcelo Group, and Weekendesk Iberia, one of the largest gift-experience companies in Spain. With his extensive experience in tourism and commerce, Margenat is sought after for support within the Barcelona tech-community.He is currently co-founder and COO of Marfeel, a mobile ad-tech company with offices in Barcelona and New York.

Carlos Lei Santos is the CEO and co-founder of P2P mesh network platform HypeLabs that was established in 2015. He graduated in Computer Science at the University of Porto in 2014 while working at Simbolo II.  Lei has worked for seven years as an IT manager at tech agency Simbolo II, providing assistance to clients like IBM and Banco Santander. He was also a mentor for various tech and startup initiatives.

A physicist from Galicia with entrepreneurial experience, Víctor López García started his professional career as a sales support engineer at Telefónica. In 2002, he co-founded and became CEO of AVA Soluciones Teconológicas.He is the president of EGANET, the association of new tech and internet companies in Galicia. Since 2016, he has been the CEO and co-founder of Councilbox, a blockchain-powered legal tech SaaS that registers and validates certifications and remote corporate meetings.

Fang Shihun is a serial entrepreneur who graduated with a BSc Applied Mathematics at Emory University in 2014. He founded Shanghai-based Pingyuan App-Ark Education Consulting and became its president from 2009 to January 2015. He also co-founded Shanghai Sanxin Investment Ltd in February 2015 and founded Puyang Food in July the same year. Shiheng Tech was founded in April 2017. Based in Shanghai, he is now the CEO at Puyang Food and Shiheng Tech.  

In his nine years at Tencent, Jia Jinlin was at one time heading the operations of the tech giant’s most profitable gaming unit.

Based in Madrid, Fabio Polimeni is an Italian computer engineer from Torino Polytechnic. After completing a MSc in Videogames Programming at the University of Hull in 2009, he worked for almost three years in Cambridge UK for Ninja Theory as an engine programmer.In 2013, he worked as a senior core-tech programmer at the Lionhead Studios in Guildford UK, designing and maintaining low-level and multi-thread systems, physics library integration, as well as gameplay optimizations.Together with Alberto Gordillo who also worked at Lionhead Studios, he co-founded Poligor Studio in 2016 as CTO to develop a VR tech-demo and simulation of the Great Fire of London 1666. They left the London startup a year later and went to Madrid to set up Play2Speak with Polimeni as CTO. Since 2019, he is also a core-tech consultant for Polystream.

Pessanha co-founded Unbabel in 2013 and was its CMO, before leaving the startup in August 2016 to join healthcare marketplace Care Revolutions as COO in Los Angeles. She is also a co-founder of Lisbon-based accelerator and NGO Beta-i and of energy tech startup ActualSun and was also Director at the Founder Institute in Lisbon. Pessanha majored in Business Administration at the New University of Lisbon. She also spent three years working at tech company TIMWETECH, in product marketing and business development.  

Mario López de Ávila Muñoz is a Spanish entrepreneur who has established four tech companies, including Exovite and Nodos CTC, the latter in operation since 2001.  Muñoz currently works at City_Ex, an initiative aimed at promoting smart city technology among municipalities. He is also a partner at Bip Iberia, a business tech consultancy, where he is focused on enterprise agility. Muñoz holds an Executive MBA from IE Business School and a doctorate in Creativity and Innovation in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. 

Xavi Beumala is a telecommunication engineer with a track record of extensive international and editorial positions in tech-related media. He was Technical Architect in Adobe Systems when he left in 2011 with a vision to create a company that could innovate the online media industry and its consumption across new and emerging devices.  He invested his savings to bootstrap and start up Marfeel, a mobile ad-tech company with offices in Barcelona and New York, where he is currently co-founder and CEO.

Gao Shuai graduated from Zhejiang University in 2013 with a master's in Economics. He co-founded Shiyin Tech in 2015 and has since served as its COO.

Luo Feng earned his bachelor's degree in Architecture from Zhejiang University from 2007 to 2012. After graduation, he worked as an architect for five years at architectural design firms HYP and UC. In 2016, he and two others co-founded Bumie Tech to bring digitization to the construction industry; the startup was subsequently acquired. He started his MBA study in 2017 at Fudan University. In 2018, he set up Onesight with the same two co-founders that he started Bumie Tech with, further developing the concepts and ideas of Bumie Tech. He has served as Onesight's CEO since then.

Calling himself a serial entrepreneur, Edy Sulistyo has created and sold three tech startups. Founded in 2009, the event management platform eEvent was sold to US-based EnvisionPoint in 2013. Revenues were mainly earned from events held in USA. He also sold OW.com to Telepathy Inc and Kamus.net to Stand4 LLC. Other internet companies he built included FilesUpload, guestHub, Parking-Hub and CircleMail.Edy graduated in 2006 with a bachelor’s in Computer Science Engineering at the Ohio State University. He is also the managing director of S3 Tech Alliance, a startup incubator in Ohio, USA.

David Dieteren Ribeiro had aspired to become a professional underwater welder, but as fate would have it, he was exposed to the world of electronics and would go on to pursue an education in the field, culminating in a master’s in Electronics and Telecommunications from the University of Aveiro. Dieteren has since used his knowledge to co-found two companies, Findster Technologies,  a dual pet tracker and fitness tech, and SWORD Health, the first remote physiotherapy tech. Dieteren currently lives in the Netherlands where he works as Process Control Engineer for Sitech Services.  

Lever VC was founded in 2018 by Nick Cooney, an early investor of Beyond Meat and Memphis Meats. He is also the co-founder of Good Food Institute. Lever has currently invested in 14 startups from the US, Europe, Asia and Latin America.Focused on investments in early-stage alternative protein companies, the firm announced the first close of its Lever VC Fund I in August 2020, with its fourth close at $46m in April 2021. The final close will be completed by June 2021. Investors in the fund include NFL and NBA athletes, British nobility, food businesses, alt-protein companies and family offices as limited partners.In June 2020, Lever launched a $28m joint investment fund and accelerator to invest in Chinese plant-based and cell-cultivated meat and dairy companies. The Lever China Alternative Protein Fund will invest RMB 40m in alt-protein companies in mainland China over the next four years.
