Established in 2015, KLab Venture Partners (KVP) is the investment arm of Japanese online game developer KLab. It is the successor of KLab’s previous investment subsidiary, KLab Ventures that had invested in various internet startups before closing in January 2017. KVP provides funding, resources and networking support to early stage startups.

A government-backed firm, Portugal Ventures is the country's most active VC. It invests exclusively in Portugal-based or initiated startups. Armed with Asian and European experience, Miguel Amaro co-founded Uniplaces in 2011. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Nottingham, and took a course in Chinese Studies at East China Normal University. He obtained his master’s in Management, with a concentration in Global Entrepreneurship, from Babson Graduate School. Amaro also spent two months as an analyst at Grameen Bank in Dhaka, Bangladesh. While developing Uniplaces, he was an entrepreneur-in-residence at Picvic Labs (France), Zhejiang University Innovation Institute (China) and Osram (United States). Amaro is currently part of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers. As an investor, to date, he has only invested in Portuguese healthy food service EatTasty and part funding the company's angel, pre-seed and seed rounds, with undisclosed investments. 

Established in 1985, venture capital firm DFJ has invested in more than 300 companies throughout the world. Its core funds have raised US$4 billion to date.

Founded in 1999, Armilar Venture Partners, previously Espirito Santo Ventures (E.S. Ventures), has made over 40 investments and currently manages five funds valued over €200 million. It covers Europe and the United States.

Caffeinated Capital is a San Francisco-based venture capital firm founded by Raymond Tonsing, founded in 2009. Since 2016, it has launched three funds, investing a total US$242 million in 60 companies, including five as the lead investor. It has seen a number of prominent exits including Parse, WePay and Appurify and was the lead investor in Series B rounds for Sapho and Airtable, besides MemSQL's Series C funding. Its recent investments include in Opendoor's Series E round and in Triplebyte's Series B and SentiLink's Series A rounds. Healthcare, fintech and cryptosecurity are key investment areas. 

Labeled "world’s most powerful startup incubator" by Fast Company, Y Combinator was established in 2005 as a seed accelerator. Since then, Y Combinator has funded over 1,850 startups with a combined valuation of over US$100 billion. Twice a year, Y Combinator invests US$150,000 per company across a large number of startups in exchange for a 7% stake. The startups then move to Silicon Valley for three months. Each cycle ends with a Demo Day, where the startups pitch to an invite-only audience of high-profile investors. Its most valuable startups to date are Airbnb, Stripe, Cruise, Dropbox and Coinbase. 

Led by Ben Einstein, the Boston-based venture capital firm focuses on startups involved in hardware and software development. The VC invests up to US$500,000 in pre-seed, pre-product startups to Series A funding rounds. The firm has investment and engineering departments that provide engineering and product design support services. It has worked with Google, Ferrari and Disney.
