Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of CoolFarm
Star Wars fan and robotics engineer Gonçalo Cabrita was the CEO and co-founder of agtech CoolFarm for over three years until September 2018, when the company became insolvent. He has a master’s in Automation and Robotics from the University of Coimbra in Portugal. He was a research engineer at his alma mater's Institute of Systems and Robotics for two years until 2011. Since then, he has been working on his PhD, researching plume tracking and odor source detection algorithms for mobile robots.

Hossein Jalali is the Iranian CTO and co-founder of Virtuleap, a Portugal-based cognition training and assessment VR startup, where he has worked since 2018. He was also simultaneously co-founder at Lisbon-based fitness search and discovery startup Flexpass, which was acquired by Urban Sports in 2018.He was previously co-founder at Dubai-based gaming startup Gameguise, the publishing arm of Edoramedia. Belgian-born Laurence Fontinoy graduated in Commercial Engineering at Belgium’s Louvain Catholic University in 1994 and went on an exchange program for one year at New York’s Stern Graduate Business School. She worked for almost four years at Belgacom Mobile in Belgium, where she supervised the launch of its first prepaid card. In 1999, she moved to the Netherlands to join Dutch telecoms provider Ben as a customer development manager. After completing an MBA in 2002 at IESE University of Navarra, the mother-of-three joined eBay Spain as head of category and seller development. In 2005, she was promoted to marketing and communications director but left in 2008 to join Google as the regional country marketing manager for Spain and Portugal. In 2015, she left to become the CEO and co-founder of WOOM with former eBay colleague Clelia Morales.

Marta Palmeiro graduated in Business Administration and Management at Portugal's Nova School of Business and Economics in 2007. She went to London to work at Credit Suisse as an intern and joined the bank's graduate program in 2007. She stayed in London until 2010 and went on to work at Credit Suisse in Madrid until July 2016. The VP of Investment Banking (Capital Markets) was primarily responsible for Iberian accounts.Based in Lisbon, she is now a partner at Pier Partners VC where she has worked since 2016. She has completed courses in fintech and blockchain business strategy run by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Oxford university's Said Business School respectively. In 2018, she became a board member of Portugal Fintech, an NGO overseeing the development of the country's fintech ecosystem. In August 2019, the mother-of-three became a fintech entrepreneur as the Portuguese co-founder and CFO of StudentFinance.
