A former investment banker, Wen Ronghui holds an MBA from Peking University. Before founding Talkmate, Wen spent five years in education both as a university lecturer and as a principal of a Beijing language school owned by Nasdaq-listed China Bilingual Technology & Education Group. Prior to that, he was an investment banker for eight years, taking more than 10 companies public.

Founded in 2015, Xin Ding Capital makes equity, pre-IPO and overseas investments. It also provides consultation services to startups in the biomedicine, new energy vehicle, chip and semiconductor manufacturing and artificial intelligence sectors that want to get listed on the National Equities Exchange and Quotations, a Chinese over-the-counter system for trading shares of public limited companies. As of May 2018, Xin Ding Capital has invested nearly RMB 2 billion in over 30 projects.

Founded by famous angel investor Cai Wensheng, founder and chairman of Meitu, Longling Capital is an equity investment firm that invests primarily in early-stage tech startups.

Tenaya Capital was originally founded in 1995 as Lehman Brothers Venture Partners. In 2009, following Lehman's bankruptcy, Tenaya was spun off into an independent company, with HarbourVest Partners acquired their existing investments. Since then, Tenaya has invested in some major tech companies, including event ticketing company Eventbrite, early fashion e-commerce firm Zappos, and Uber competitor Lyft. They have so far made two investments into Indonesian companies: agritech e-commerce platform TaniHub, and “Uber-for-logistics” company Kargo Technologies. Tenaya typically invests in Series B and Series C rounds, although they have gone into Series A and later rounds as well. 

Founded in 1999, TLCOM Capital now has offices in Kenya, Nigeria and the UK. Originally a global VC investor, its key investment objective now is to tackle Africa’s greatest challenges via its TIDE Africa Fund that was established in 2017.Total funding to date stands at $300m and investments range from $500,000 to $10m.  It currently has 12 portfolio companies and has managed 13 exits. Recent investments include the $6m Series A round of Kenyan agro-focused insurtech PULA and the $7.5m Series A round of Nigerian edtech uLesson Education.

Gemboom Venture Capital was founded in Shenzhen in 2016 and mainly invests in early-stage startups from angel to Series A rounds. It specializes in high-tech, industrial upgrades and consumables. The VC invests primarily in big cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hangzhou and Chengdu.

Former US investment banker Frank Wooten graduated in accounting and finance at the College of William and Mary in Virginia. He also went on a study program in Madrid at Saint Louis University in 2002.After his graduation in 2003, he worked as managing director of CJS Securities in New York, a company that follows 100 underpriced stocks. In July 2008, he founded Point Blank Capital and became the managing partner of the financial services company based in Miami. In January 2016, he became the CFO and COO for Sao Paulo-based startup Squad, a platform that connects self-employed workers with companies.Wooten also met up with Jasper Holdsworth, a cattle rancher from New Zealand who was exploring the use of GPS tracking sensors to create a virtual fencing system for livestock management. In July 2016, Wooten became the CEO and co-founder of Vence Corp. The tech company designs and makes AI-enabled tracking devices like animal collars to help livestock owners reduce animal husbandry costs and improve the productivity of their pastureland.

Acton Capital Partners is a Munich-based VC that focuses on late-stage investments. The firm invests primarily in the sectors of fintech, marketing and e-commerce and has invested over €350m across the three industries. It has backed prominent companies such as Toronto-based Chef’s Plate and online homemade crafts marketplace Etsy.

The SBI-Xueda Education Fund is an education investment fund jointly set up by Japan-based SBI Holdings and China-based Xueda Education Group in 2018.

Yueyin Venture Capital was founded in 2015 in Beijing. It manages total assets worth US$300m, with investments in 22 companies. The VC focuses mainly in the healthcare, pharmaceutical and biotech sectors. 

Founded in 2009, Septwolves Venture Capital is a subsidiary of Septwolves Holding Group Co Ltd. The VC firm currently manages assets worth RMB 1bn.Focusing on investment opportunities in the communications and other traditional industries like logistics, Septwolves also invests in diverse sectors including mobile internet, energy, food, pharmaceutical, textile and software.

Co-founder and President of Chinapex. Tiger Yang attended high school in Singapore  and graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Science in Political Economy. Before co-founding Chinapex, Yang managed multiple internal data analytics projects for clients such as Microsoft. He was nominated for the “Innovative Leader of the Year Award” by China Internet Weekly in 2017.
