Rice Bank was founded by two former Alibaba executives in 2014. The VC mainly invests in early-stage startups across the sectors of mobile internet, digital entertainment, media, intelligent hardware and cloud computing.

Founded by Feng Bo, who left China for San Francisco at aged 18 and returning in 1994, as one of technology-focused boutique investment bank Robertson Stephens' first bankers in China. Feng set up Ceyuan Ventures in 2004, focusing on early-stage IT and emerging growth firms in China. Notable investments include Jiayuan, Qihoo 360, Dianping and Meitu. Feng Bo is the brother of Feng Tao, another leading investor, and founder and head of NewMargin Ventures.

Ideabox Ventures is a VC launched by Indonesian telecoms Indosat Ooredoo, Kejora Ventures and Mountain Partners SEA in November 2016. The VC was an addition to the existing annual accelerator Ideabox program that had nurtured startups like Dealoka, Pawoon and Wobe. More venture capital is expected to come from new partnerships with global institutions in Asia, Europe and North America. Early stage or pre-Series A funding of up to US$500,000 will be awarded to each startup, as well as strategic commercial consultancy and support services to boost the expansion of the VC’s portfolio firms.

Hangzhou-based Tisiwi Ventures is an angel investor focused on Chinese internet companies. One of the earliest in China to adopt the Y Combinator model, it has backed more than 100 startups.

Founded in 2011 by Wang Xiao, a member of the Baidu founding team, Unity Ventures is a venture capital firm in China that focuses on early-stage companies in the internet and mobile internet sectors.

Ex-WPP’s youngest head Kevin Mintaraga’s career started when he founded digital agency Magnivate in 2008. In 2012, the company was acquired by WPP, and was renamed to XM Gravity and later Mirum Agency. Kevin remained as CEO of the company post-acquisition, and at 27 years old became the youngest head within WPP’s global network. He moved to a chairman role in 2014 to start Bridestory. Kevin was an avid gamer and had no business or digital media background prior to launching Magnivate. He was born in 1985.

David Segura Guillén is an informatics engineer with over 25 years experience in media communications, digital marketing and business management. He graduated from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in 1989 and worked for various companies like WPP, Wanadoo and Orange while testing the waters as an entrepreneur. Segura founded Glue Concept SL and event platform gooru.live in 2013.  Segura and Yaiza Canosa Ferrío went on to establish co-working offices GlueWork in 2017. Segura is also the president of digital advertising association IAB Spain.

Xabi Uribe-Etxebarria is the CEO and founder of Sherpa, a Spanish digital personal assistant startup. He is also founder of ANBOTO, a web service platform based on Natural Language Processing (NLP). Uribe-Etxebarria has been listed by Spanish leading newspaper EL PAÍS as one of the 100 most influential people in the Spanish-American world. Uribe-Etxebarria attended MIT Sloan Management School and Harvard Business School where he specialized in Electronic Engineering, Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation and Digital Marketing. He is currently working toward his master’s in Architecture. 

Clara Hardy is GM and co-founder of Spanish bioplastics startup Oimo. She has worked there since 1Q19 and her duties include fundraising, marcom, stakeholder relations and business intelligence. This is her first major position. She was previously an intern at several large organizations, including the Walt Disney Company where she worked in digital marketing for a year. Hardy also spent several months as Digital Marketing Manager at Nexus Training and Mobility. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Marketing from London’s Brunel University.

Founded in 2011, Tokyo-based venture capital firm GREE Ventures focuses on investing in early stage (pre-Series A and Series A) internet and mobile companies. The firm invests in Japan, Southeast Asia, and other geographies within Asia.
