Headquartered in Madrid with satellite offices in Barcelona, London, Seattle and New York, Alma Mundi is a venture fund that aims to connect Spanish and Latin American entrepreneurs. Alma Mundi’s investments range between €500,000 and €5 million.Alma Mundi offers its investee companies direct access to a global network of investors and industry experts in leading technology ecosystems. Called the Mundi Club, the group comprises over 700 members from 41 cities worldwide. The group’s board members include advisers and executives from Merck, Havas, PepsiCo, Carrefour, Nestlé and HP. 

Jaume Gomà is the CEO and co-founder of Ulabox, one of the first online supermarkets in Spain. He has been involved in various internet businesses since the late 90s. Gomà has worked in business strategy and managerial roles in telecommunication companies like France Telecom and Orange Spain. In 2008, he became a director at Segundamano, that has now transformed into Vibbo, the leading portal for second-hand goods trading in Spain and Latin America. Gomà is a leading mentor, advisor and business angel within the Spanish ecosystem.

Big Sur Ventures is a Spanish VC based in Madrid. It was co-founded by Jose Miguel Herrero and Manuel Matés both with extensive international experience in leading technology products and services companies and M&A. The fund invests in companies focused on SaaS, online marketplace and platforms, IT and digital media. Investments range from seed to later growth stage. The VC usually represents the first institutional capital in a company, leading or co-leading the round with capital injection of between €100,000 and €400.000 per round. 

Mustard Seed MAZE is a Lisbon-based VC firm that invests in early-stage startups, primarily in social impact enterprises. Endowed with €40m, the VC has invested in projects dealing with food wastage, human trafficking, postnatal depression and general healthcare.So far, it has managed one exit, with the majority of its portfolio of 20 companies based in Europe. Recent investment rounds include $3m seed funding for Portuguese mesh network tech HypeLabs, €1.15m seed round for Spanish fintech StudentFinance and $12m Series B round for UK-based food waste app Winnow.

Established in 2018, Robot Union is a pan-European robotics association that is funded by the European Union. It is an EU initiative under the Horizon 2020 program for investment in research and innovation across sectors and countries. Through various competitions, robotics startups can win equity-free awards of up to €223,000 each. Robot Union selected its first batch of 20 startups in September 2018.  

Entrepreneur First is a global entrepreneur incubator program and early-startup investor. The incubator is an intensive six-month program for founders and aspiring entrepreneurs to help them develop ideas that can go into building their own companies. The program is held in six cities around the world: Bangalore; Berlin, London, Paris, Singapore and Toronto (Canada).Participants do not need to have a startup or a specific business idea to participate, and those who have established their own companies can seek partners or co-founders at the program. Roughly 40-50% of the cohort reach the “Launch” phase, where the participants have established their own companies and received investments from Entrepreneur First and potentially other VCs. Entrepreneur First can invest in a startup built by program participants in exchange for 10% equity. The exact amount invested varies: £80,000 for the European programs; S$75,000 for the Singapore and Bangalore programs; and C$100,000 for the Canada program.

David Bernabeu Moliner majored in Pharmacy at the University of Valencia, but soon discovered his interest in business that led him to an MBA program at the San Vicente Mártir Catholic University of Valencia, Spain. He then worked as the CEO of Promober in Valencia for 10 years until 2014.One day, after waiting four hours for a delivery, he came up with the idea of a service that would extricate everyone from such unnecessary and unpleasant experiences. In 2015, he founded Citibox that won several awards including one from the Spanish Centre of Logistics CEL in 2017.

Based in Spain since 2016, Yannick Rault van der Vaart is a Brazilian entrepreneur with diverse work experiences in USA, Latin America and Europe. The co-founder and CEO of Sheetgo is also a board member of Impact Hub Network that runs co-working spaces in Spain and Brazil.In 2006, the graduate from the University of Miami co-founded EsMiHogar to help immigrants finance property purchases back home. In 2007, he helped Spanish company Inmoferrocarril to launch 7,600 social home mixed-use urban development "Esmihogar". In 2008, he co-founded Abramar to build low income, environment-friendly residential buildings and neighborhoods in Brazil.

Jesus Cano is currently working as a senior engineer at Spanish aerospace manufacturer ITD, with over 20 years of experience in project management, electrical engineering and other roles including the design of Airbus 380 and other aircraft in the UK. Besides the ITD projects with BAE systems, he was also based in France for over three years as a senior design engineer in Toulouse. The aeronautical engineer from Madrid's Polytechnic University became the co-founder and CTO of Unmanned Technical Works (UTW) in 2015. He is also co-founder and deputy CTO of Aventix that provides specialized UTW-related engineering services.

Nil Oleaga Ortega is the Spanish born COO and co-founder of Evix Safety, designers of an algorithm controlled airbag for cycling helmets, where he has worked since 2018.  At the same time, Oleaga works at the soccer training company Marcet as a Technical Director of one of its centers. He previously worked in varied short-term positions in sports, especially in soccer, and was employed for over two and a half years as Trainer at Alella Football Club. Oleaga holds a master's degree in Sports Management from the University of Barcelona, where he also studied a first degree in Sports Science.

Pablo Marfil Serrano graduated in industrial design engineering and product development at Nebrija University in Madrid in 2014. He has worked in industrial design, product development and branding for Madrid-based companies, including AECOM and Steelcase.In 2010, he became a member of the competitive Mini racing team Nebrija Motorsport. In 2012, Marfil founded his own agency Marfil Design & Consulting. He also co-founded Scoobic Urban Mobility in 2015 and became the Spanish mobility startup's CTO and business development manager. He is also a founding member and partner of Passion Motorbike Factory.

500 Startups is a global venture capital seed fund and startup accelerator based in Silicon Valley.

RakSul is a Japanese online and outsourcing commercial printing services platform, with almost US$72 million in total equity funding in August 2016. Its US$350,000 Prinzio seed investment is its first venture outside Japan, giving it a 20% stake in the Indonesian printing startup.Founder and CEO Yasukane Matsumoto is set to acquire more printing start-ups in the Philippines and Singapore as part of the expansion into Southeast Asia. The Tokyo-based startup is often dubbed the Uber of printing, with flyers accounting for 60% of total print orders. It expected to start making profits in 2016.

Founded in 2012 in Geneva, Seedstars is one of the world’s largest accelerators with programs operating globally including Seedstars Global Startup Competition for emerging economies and seed-stage investors. Seedstars is also an investor, focusing on supporting startups founded in emerging economies across market segments. Its portfolio of 60 companies includes startups from its accelerator programs and participation in the $30,000 pre-seed round for Mexican loan fintech DB Menos. It is also one of two impact investors backing the $530,000 seed funding round for Bangladeshi cloud-kitchen and delivery startup Kludio.

A holder of six IT patents, Fu Yansheng was a manager in internet and business development at state-owned China Telecom. He is a Changchun Institute of Posts and Telecommunications computer science graduate (class of 1989); and holds a master’s in Communications and Information Systems from Tianjin University. He is also vice-chairman of China Home Service Association.
