Nuno Fonseca is the sole founder of Sound Particles, the Portuguese 3D audio software platform for sound designers. Fonseca had been working on his technology since 2012 while working in other roles and founded Sound Particles in 2016. For almost 18 years, Fonseca was Program Coordinator for Digital Games and Multimedia at the Polytechnic University of Leiria. Simultaneously, for six years until 2018, Fonseca was a teacher of Music Technology at Lisbon's Higher School of Music. His educational achievements include a PhD in Computer Engineering in the area of audio production. He has also published two books and more than 20 academic papers on audio technology.

Marc Rodríguez Garcia is Head of Research and co-founder of Britain’s Xampla, producer of plant-based biodegradable plastics made from protein, where he has worked full-time since it was founded in 2018. Prior to that, from late 2016 he was a postdoctoral research associate at Cambridge University’s Knowles Lab, from which Xampla was spun off.  The Spaniard has also worked as a visiting researcher for the not-for-profit Cancer Research UK.Rodríguez holds a PhD from the University of Glasgow, developing a new method to synthesize oligopeptides from unactivated amino acids, and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. 

Having earned his master’s degree in Optical Science and Engineering from Tsinghua University, Lin received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 2008. In May 2008, he joined NEC Labs America, where he performed research on machine learning and computer vision. In November 2015, Lin was made director of Baidu’s Institute of Deep Learning. In March 2017, he was promoted to head of Baidu Research. Six months after being promoted, Lin left Baidu to found Aibee.

Agung Bezharie Hadinegoro is co-founder and CEO of smart retail kiosk startup Warung Pintar. Agung had previously co-founded two creative agencies in Bandung, where he was a multimedia designer and was the program director of the Global Entrepreneurship Program Indonesia. He was also an associate at East Ventures, taking on the role of interim general manager of the company's coworking extension, EV Hive. Agung holds a bachelor's in Intermedia Art and an MBA, both from Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia.

Biologist Luis Rubio González has a PhD and over 15 years of experience as a researcher and consultant in public and private organizations. He also completed an Advanced Studies Certification at the University of Murcia and has a master's in Food Quality and Safety from the Madrid Institute of Training (IMF Business School). In 2019, he became the co-founder and CPO of agroSingularity, a Murcia-based foodtech producing natural powder ingredients from raw materials sourced from wasted agricultural by-products.

Ex-Microsoft man Andhy Koesnandar had nearly five years of experience in Silicon Valley as a software engineer and development manager before launching his own startup, Cermati. He holds a bachelor’s in Computer Science and Mathematics and a master’s in Computer Science from the University of Nebraska. Andhy also has an MBA from the University of Washington.

A geoinformatics expert, Zhao is a graduate of Wuhan University and Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business. He used to work in the Zhejiang Administration of Surveying Mapping and Geoinformation. In 2003, Zhao founded Hangzhou Gisway Information Technology, which is listed on NEEQ (or the New Third Board). In 2009, Zhao founded Dianwoba.

Having spent some 15 years in China’s indie, hip hop and rock music scenes, Li Hongjie was editor-in-chief of the local Rolling Stones and Popular Songs magazines; and is founder of Chinese hip hop music label, Dragon Tongue Records. He is also founder and CEO of the Zhangbei Prairie Music Festival.

Born in a farming family, Yu Yang graduated from the National University of Defense Technology with a master's in computer science. He was the co-founder and CTO of drone startup Linker Networks Inc, before co-founding Farm Friend in 2016 to build a platform connecting farmers and drone operators. He is currently the CEO of Farm Friend.

Samuel Silva is co-founder of FarmCloud, where he is also a board advisor. Since 2002, he has also been the CEO of Portuguese IoT Edge startup Domatica and has experience as an IT developer and chief hardware architect. Silva holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minho in Portugal. 

Eric Mourin is the Barcelona-based CTO and co-founder of Aimentia, which runs the first AI-powered virtual clinic for mental health patients. He met his fellow co-founder Edgar Jorba, who is now CEO of Aimentia, at the Open University of Catalonia. The company was established while both co-founders were still students.Mourin is a computer engineer by training. Prior to setting up Aimentia, he worked as a software engineer. He also spent close to two years working on a World Heath Organization (WHO) project involving the design and implementation of an IT system for the monitoring and control of neglected tropical diseases. This IT system equipped affected countries to make data-based decisions to reduce incidence of such endemic diseases, while allowing the WHO to efficiently monitor progress.Mourin holds a master’s in computer and information systems security from the Open University of Catalonia as well as a bachelor’s in computer engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. 

Feng Shicong graduated from Peking University (PKU) in 2003 with a degree in Computer Science. He was a weighted member of the PKU Sky Network search engine program (the predecessor of Baidu) and has years of experience in the sectors of NLP, big data and information retrieval. Feng developed an acronym search and automatic disambiguation vertical search engine during his time at HP China Research Institute. He has more than 50 patents and over 20 papers published in academic journals such as TKDE and CIKM. Feng is a founding member of Miaozhen Systems and co-founder of MINING LAMP technology. Bailian.ai is his third company.

Goat Capital is a venture capital fund was set up by video livestreamer Justin.tv and Twitch co-founder Justin Kan and Robin Chan, also an angel investor and entrepreneur. Chan met Kan while working at Verizon Wireless when Justin.tv was being launched. Both have since become private investors for over 10 years, with early investments including Twitter, Xiaomi, Bird, Uber and Square. Established in September 2020, the fund’s name was inspired by the goat because good startup founders need to be agile and resilient to survive and be successful, according to Kan.Kan was also an early investor of Indonesian payment gateway Xendit before Goat Capital joined Xendit’s $150m Series C round in September 2021. Goat Capital’s portfolio includes corporate credit card startup Kodo, Indian neobank Bueno Finance, carbon capture developers Holy Grail and web development tool Spore. The hybrid incubator and VC fund has already secured $25m and aims to raise a total of $40m to invest in diverse sectors like digital health, e-commerce, robotics, climate change and gaming entertainment. Funding per startup would range from $500,000 to $3m.
