SoftBank Ventures Asia, founded in 2000, is a subsidiary of SoftBank Korea and part of the SoftBank Group. It is SoftBank’s early stage venture arm, with a geographical focus in Asia, the US, Europe and Israel. It was previously known as SoftBank Ventures Korea.SoftBank Ventures Asia links early-stage startups with SoftBank’s wider network of partners and businesses, which include Yahoo Japan and Alibaba (both of which SoftBank has stakes in), components manufacturers ARM and nVidia, and Indonesian e-commerce platform Tokopedia, which SoftBank has invested in. Outside of its focus areas of AI, robotics and IoT, SoftBank Ventures has invested in companies like sports analytics company bepro11, telehealth service Alodokter, and property rental management Mamikos.

Founded in 2004, Zurich-based Alpha Associates is a spin-off from Swiss Life Private Equity Partners. The independent fund manager and advisor specializes in private equity, private debt and infrastructure investments, offering investment services to institutional and private wealth clients.Besides offering a range of private market funds of funds, Alpha also manages Private Equity Holding Ltd with a diversified portfolio of investments in six public-listed companies. Recent direct co-investments include participation in the $54m Series B round of Austrian marketplace Refurbed in August 2021.

Founded in 2012, Purple Orange’s objective is to support the transition away from animals in the food chain, supporting early-stage food and biotech companies across the globe with a focus on alternative proteins and cellular agriculture. It currently has 12 startups from different nations in its portfolio. Its most recently disclosed investments have been in the December 2020 pre-seed round of Chinese cultured meat startup CellX and in the November 2020 $500,000 pre-seed round of Swedish plant-based food vending startup VEAT. 

Founded in 2008, Delian Capital focuses on healthcare, TMT, high-end manufacturing, new materials, new energy, and resources utilization in environmental protection, with RMB 2 billion of funds under management.

Founded in Shenzhen in 2013, HNF focuses on industries such as mobile internet, entertainment, healthcare and education. It was named one of China’s New Investment Organization’s Top 20 companies for 2017.

P101, which stands for Programma 101, the first PC ever made in history, is an Italian VC focused on early-stage investments founded and headed by Managing Partner Andrea Di Camillo. As of January 2021, the firm has between €70m and €100m available for investments. The fund is backed by The European Investment Fund, the Italian Investment Fund SGR, and Azimut, an Italian asset manager operating since 1989 and parent company of Azimut Holding, listed on the Milan Stock Exchange (AZM.IM).Headquartered in Milan, P101 has invested in international startups through its two funds, P101 and P102. It usually co-invests maintaining a lead investor role. According to Di Camillo, the P102 fund has a higher investment ticket, ranging between €2m–5m, with the possibility of increasing to up to €10m in a single company. The firm also manages Ita500, a €40m fund established in partnership with Azimut in January 2020. With a 10-year term, Ita500 will co-invest with P101’s first and second funds in startups with revenues of up to €5m and SMEs with a turnover range of €5m–50m.

H&M’s first shop was founded 74 years ago in Sweden by Erling Persson under the name “Hennes”, Swedish for "hers" since the shop was selling only women's apparel. In 1968, Persson expanded into menswear by acquiring Swedish retailer Mauritz Widforss. Hence the rebranding of the company into Hennes & Mauritz (H&M). In 1974, H&M was listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. Since then, H&M has expanding internationally opening its first store in London and the rest of Europe and also to the US in early 2000.In 2008, the company also moved into the home furnishings segment and launched H&M Home stores worldwide. The fashion chain can now be found across Europe, the US, Asia and the Middle East. The group expanded further by acquiring fast-fashion brands like Weekday, Monki and Cheap Monday. In April 2021, H&M Group announced a collaboration with textile cleantech Infinited Fiber to launch proof-of-concept denim created wholly from regenerated textile waste as part of its commitment to use only recycled or sustainably sourced materials by 2030.

Led by media and entertainment veteran Frank Yang (Yang Xingnong), ANTS Venture Capital conducts early-stage investments in Chinese companies from the TMT, culture & entertainment, healthcare, consumption & retail and new energy sectors. It expects its selected companies to become market leaders in their industries, with a CAGR of at least 30% and the potential to go public in two years.

Augmentum Capital was formed in 2009 by Tim Levene and Richard Matthews, with the backing of RIT Capital Partners, the investment trust chaired by Lord Rothschild (whose family owns 18% of the trust). Based in London, the investment firm focuses on fast-growing fintech companies in the UK and Europe, typically supporting Series A and Series B funding rounds.   

Welight Capital was founded by former senior executive at Tencent Wu Xiaoguang in 2015. The firm invests mainly in early-stage startups in the sectors of IoT, corporate services, finance, education, consumption upgrade, retail and e-commerce.

Established as an asset management company in 2017, Chasestone Capital has launched major funds in real estate, private equity, consumer finance and securities investment. The company completed its Series A funding round in September 2017 with backing from well-known investors such as Orient Capital, SBCVC, Cowin Capital, Bridge Capital, GIG and Tsing Ventures.

Founded in 2007 by Soichiro Swimmy Minami, BizReach is a Tokyo-based recruitment firm that operates a full service headhunting and talent search platform. Its hallmark feature is an AI-powered software for shortlisting job applicants. Outside of Japan, the company also has a presence in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. BizReach raised funding through a Series A round in 2016.
