Born in the 1980s in Beijing, Hou Xiaodi graduated in Computer Science at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2008. After completing his PhD in Computation and Neural Systems at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in 2014, he returned to Beijing and co-founded Cogtu Technologies that specializes in image recognition for advertising. In August 2015, he co-founded TuSimple and became its president and CTO based in San Diego, USA.

Born in 1987 in hometown Solo, Gibran Rakabuming is the eldest child of Indonesian President Joko Widodo. He studied at the Management Development Institute of Singapore before going to the University of Technology Insearch in Sydney, Australia. He graduated in 2010 and became a serial entrepreneur.He is best known in the F&B industry for his catering business Chilli Pari and martabak manis (Indonesian sweet dessert) franchise Markobar. He is also involved with home food delivery business Madhang that he co-founded with his younger brother Kaesang Pangarep. In 2018, he established Goola that seeks to modernize traditional Indonesian drinks.

Born in 1982, Chen Qi graduated from Wuhan University with a bachelor’s degree in Remote Sensing in 2005, the same year as fellow alumnus Gong Huaze. Both became co-founders of McFly, with Chen as COO in December 2016.After graduation, Chen moved to Beijing and worked at NavInfo, a digital map supplier under the state-owned China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC). He also earned a master’s in Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing at Wuhan University while working at NavInfo. In 2013, he worked at Alibaba Mobile Business Group as a product manager until he left to establish agtech startup McFly.

Since 2016, he has also been working as a lead business support system analyst for Belgian telco Telenet.

He then became Puzzlebox’s chief hardware architect in San Francisco, later overseeing the manufacturing of Puzzlebox Orbit in Shenzhen. In 2014, he started Dorabot. Zhang was featured in Forbes China’s 30 Under 30 in 2017.

The multi-lingual Sánchez started Smile and Learn in 2013 to help his children's school to acquire more hi-tech teaching resources. He left his BCG job to become CEO of the edtech in 2015.
