Chief Scientific Officer of AEInnova
Carles Ferrer Ramis, AEInnova’s Chief Scientific Officer, is a physicist with a doctoral degree and experience in microelectronics for space applications. He obtained his PhD from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) in Microelectronics and Electronic Systems, joining the Computer Science department in 1984 where he held an associate professor position until 2007. Between 2005 and 2016, Ferrer was the director of the Space Studies and CERES Research Center at the same university. He was also deputy director at the Catalan Space Studies Institute (IEEC) and is a researcher at the National Microelectronics Center's Barcelona Microelectronics Institute.

Italian Silvia Raga is CEO and co-founder of Spanish healthtech startup DyCare, which she began developing in May 2014 and formally founded in 2015. Jiang Tong obtained bachelor's degrees in Civil Engineering from Tongji University and Control Science and Engineering from Zhejiang University between 2011 and 2016. Upon graduation, he joined a robotics startup founded by a team from Zhejiang university, Shanghai Seer Robotics Technology, working as an algorithm engineer from 2016 to 2017. Having seen his parents struggle to provide his brother with intensive physical rehabilitation, Virgílio Bento (b. 1984) understood the many pain points faced by the patients and their families. Bento graduated from the University of Aveiro with a master’s in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering, and went on to pursue a PhD in Electrical Engineering. There, he developed SWORD Phoenix which would go on to be the technology behind SWORD Health, a startup Bento founded and of which he is currently CEO.
