Originally from Spain, Noelia Novella worked at Jazztel in 2002, after completing a course in HR management at Catalunya's Vic University and an online Business Administration degree at UNED. The IT recruiter worked at Glotel in Brussels for over two years before joining Regus. She left Regus in 2011 and became the founder of online job agency Curriculate in Spain until 2014. Marta Fernández de la Vega is a veteran in marketing and digital communications. She worked at Havas Digital and Genetsis for a total of almost five years before starting an academic career as a lecturer.In 2015, she became the managing partner of Made in Mobile co-founded by Sixto Arias. She joined Arias to set up edtech Capaball as CFO in 2018. David Pérez Bou is a co-founder and co-CEO as well as deep learning engineer and software architect at Deep Solutions, a producer of deep neural network software for image recognition. A designer and branding specialist, Petr Báča was inspired to develop a smart vending solution to eliminate plastic packaging in supply chains while working with industry clients at Cocoon Prague, a branding and advertising agency he founded in 1996. He is currently CEO of MIWA and continues to work in packaging design as a partner at Cocoon Prague.Báča graduated from the University of Economics in Prague in 2002. Since its founding in 2016, it has launched several funds, including the $1bn Breakthrough Energy Ventures initial fund and a $100m European fund. The entity employs scientists and has a model available to startups to identify sustainability opportunities in the US grid. It currently has 30 startups in its portfolio across technologies and geographies. Among its most recent investments in early 2021 are the $11.5m Series A round of US low-emission hydrogen producer C-Zero and in the $50m Series B round of US sustainable metal producer Boston Metals. In January 2021, BEV also closed a new round of another $1 billion to invest in up to 50 startups.
