Software engineer Filipe Gonçalves has held positions at Wipro Technologies and the European Space Agency, where he was a software engineer, then technical consultant. Gonçalves, who holds a master’s in Software Engineering from the University of Porto, co-founded Jumpseller.

Armed with a master’s in Business Administration and Computer Science from the Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, João Romão is looking to change the way companies and audiences interact with social media and social networks. His experience includes consulting stints around Portugal at AIESEC and Novabase Consulting and as the CEO of Wishareit, a Lisbon-based social shopping platform. In 2013, Romão founded GetSocial, a social analytics and content automation platform that helps marketers and publishers measure, promote and amplify their best work.

A master’s degree holder in Computer Engineering from the Instituto Superior Téchnico, Nuno Rochinha began delving into the world of web development during his college days when he learnt to code in HTML, CSS and JS. From there, Rochinha worked as a web developer in companies such as Sonaecom and Excentric. He co-founded GetSocial in 2012 and was the startup’s CTO from 2012 to 2015. Today, Rochinha is a senior developer at Runtime Revolution.

Pedro Moura combines his knowledge of Computer Science and Sociology – the former as a graduate of the Instituto Superior Technico and the latter as a postgraduate of the University of Evora – in his line of work. Moura started his career co-founding several companies such as social shopping platform Wishareit and e-commerce social platform GetSocial, where he served as CTO. He is currently an adviser for the latter and is the CEO of mobile software platform Mobizy.

Instituto Superior de Línguas e Administração (Lisbon) graduate João Gomes serves as the current CTO at Altar.io. Gomes has experience as a developer for Booking.com and Excentric, where he would go on to hold the position of Programming Director. He also served as CTO at GetSocial, a company he co-founded.

With a master’s in Commerce and Finance, Marshall Utoyo quickly founded a financial services firm Utoyo & Partners in November 2010. An entrepreneur at heart, he left the firm in January 2013. He had already co-founded a furniture business FASA Works and a coworking hub Conclave in 2012. He exited both in March 2015. The Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) graduate returned to the furniture business as a co-founder of Fabelio. Launched in June 2015 with seed funding of US$500,000, the e-commerce furniture company has also secured US$2 million in Series A funds in 2016.

Krishnan Menon graduated in 2011 with a master’s in Chemistry from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science in India. He obtained a master’s in Management from ESCP Europe in 2012 before working in sales, merchandising and operations at Rocket Internet GmBH, Lazada Southeast Asia, Zalora Singapore and AlphaBeta Labs India. Besides co-founding Fabelio in Indonesia, he has also joined Endeavor, a nonprofit global organization that aims to transform economies through entrepreneurship.

Christian Sutardi graduated in 2010 with a degree in Finance and Management from the University of Hamburg in Germany. After working as an analyst in Germany for eight months, he moved to Indonesia to join Foodpanda as head of Sales and Operations until February 2013. He co-founded Lolabox, a beauty box service that was shut down after one year due to procurement problems in 2014. He then worked at Monk Hill’s Ventures as an associate for a year before leaving to become a co-founder of Fabelio in 2015. He is also an Endeavor entrepreneur.

Sista Srinivas studied Mathematics and Engineering at the Birla Institute of Technology in India. After obtaining a master’s in 2012, he became a market analyst for one year at Fractal Analytics in Mumbai, India, before joining Indonesia’s Lazada Group in November 2013. He left his job as a consultant for home appliances at Lazada in March 2015 to become a co-founder and director of operations at Fabelio.

Before becoming co-founder, CPO and growth hacker at Fabelio in February 2016, Filippo Lombardi was a commercial director at Linio Panama electronic marketplace until December 2015. He had also worked at the Lazada Group in Indonesia since September 2012 as the head of web analytics and as onsite UX optimization marketing VP for Southeast Asia until 2014. Filippo obtained a bachelor’s in Business Administration and Management and a master’s in Economic and Social Sciences from Bocconi University in Italy.

Hailing from India, Sunil Rao left Google after six years in August 2014 to join an MBA program at NUS Business School. He also co-founded digital recruitment platform Astronaut Technologies in Singapore in August 2015 but exited after seven months to work at Microsoft as a Global Program Manager for Business Operations.

Swedish Lund University systems developer Manfred Ekblad was a chief product officer at software developer LJ Systemutveckling AB. He moved to Jakarta in 2010 as the general manager of PT Biztech Indonesia. He is also a serial entrepreneur, with startups like Avectris SE in 2004, Online Business Indonesia in 2011 and BWI Press in 2013. Manfred is now based in Bandung as co-founder and CTO of Astronaut Technologies, a video-based recruitment platform.

After six years of building innovative products and new businesses in Singapore and India, Nigel Hembrow has made Indonesia his home and headquarters for Astronaut Technologies, his latest venture in HR tech. Hailing from Australia, Queensland civil engineer Nigel started out in project management and engineering design for construction company Mace. After an MBA from the University of Melbourne in 2009, he worked at The Great Little Water Company and Amida Recruitment. Nigel is also currently a director at Rayjon Group, a family-owned property investment and development conglomerate that was co-founded by managing director John Hembrow in 1976.

Fransiska Hadiwidjana is a young technopreneur and coder. The graduate in Informatics Engineering is a co-founder of AugMI Labs in USA that won the Thomson Reuters Data Prize at the MIT US$100K Entrepreneurship Competition in 2013. Fransiska had also worked as an IT intern at Microsoft and the Office of the President of Indonesia. She also participated at a Silicon Valley think tank at the Singularity University before graduating from the Institut Teknologi Bandung in 2012. She went on to establish Prelo, an online marketplace for secondhand goods in 2015.

Rama Raditya graduated with a master’s in Management Information Systems in 2005 from Strayer University, USA. He returned to Indonesia and joined PwC as an IT auditor for a year. He then worked at Bank Danamon as an IT auditor and advisor before moving on to Ernst & Young. In 2013, he founded TerralogiQ, which later launched Qlue as part of Jakarta’s Smart City initiative. Rama became the CEO of PT Qlue Performa Indonesia when Qlue was incorporated as a standalone company.
