Central Capital Ventura is backed by Bank Central Asia (BCA), one of Indonesia's largest banks. The venture capital firm is focused on identifying and investing in fintech and other technologies that can potentially support BCA's own businesses and service ecosystem. Edwin Widjonarko spent almost 6 years working as a research assistant at the USA’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory and at University of Colorado Boulder. In some of the projects he worked on, Widjonarko contributed to the development of new generation solar panels. In 2015, he left the research sphere to join Intel Corporation as a technology development process engineer. He stayed on until 2018, when he left Intel and returned to Indonesia to establish Xurya, a solar power company. Working with longtime friend Gusmantara Himawan and former East Ventures associate Philip Effendy, Widjonarko now works as Xurya’s director of technology.

Pierre Fillard is Chief Science Officer and co-founder of Therapixel, creator of AI-powered breast cancer screening and diagnosis software MammoScreen. At Therapixel, he previously held the positions of CEO and CTO. Before founding Therapixel, Fillard was a senior research scientist at INRIA (National Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology), where he focused on medical imaging and image processing. He has also been a visiting lecturer at CPE Lyon, a research associate at the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Agencies Commission, a PhD candidate at INRIA, and a research assistant at the University of North Carolina. He has a diploma from the HEC School of Management, a master’s in science, mathematics and computer science from the Université Jean Monnet Saint-Etienne and a degree in engineering, computer science, and applied mathematics from the Ecole Supérieure de Chimie Physique Electronique de Lyon.

Besides working at JP Morgan as a credit risk analyst, he also had extracurricular interests at Give.sg and the National Arts Council. He left JP Morgan in 2011 to work as a production manager at Resorts World Sentosa for three years. He is also a research director at the Cellular Agriculture Society in Leiden, a joint initiative for cell-based startups to share knowledge and to collaborate on projects to further scale the sector. Luining is also on the board of directors at the not-for-profit Cultured Meat Foundation that promotes sector innovation. His past posts have all been in the area of research, either as a researcher or a technician, and at the same time as completing studies. His last job was as a research strategist at New York-based New Harvest, a callular food rsearch funding body, where he worked for a year and met Dr. Kotter, the inventor of Meatable’s cellular technology. His research positions from 2009–15 were in the area of cell culture, mass spectrometry and DNA sequencing at the Maastricht University, University Medical Center Amsterdam, Utrecht University and Leiden University. In 2012, she co-founded Veniam, a tech startup for connected and autonomous vehicles, where she also worked in engineering and corporate research from 2012 until 2014. She advises the European Commission in her areas of expertise.

Prior to this, Rando gained significant experience working in the field of genomics. He spent three years prior to SwissDeCode’s foundation trialing his DNA food testing technology in his startup BeerDeCoded and assisted in the launch of a compact DNA laboratory at Bento Bio in London. He previously spent almost three years at the University of Geneva in research, co-inventing a technology for ink to change color in response to a specific DNA sequence. His earlier position at the University of Lausanne as a post-doctoral fellow in genomics saw him lead a nine-man team for three and a half years, discovering the hormone that prepares newborns to lactate.
