Founder and Former CEO of CekAja
International relations graduate, John Patrick Ellis worked in East Indonesia for two years with ViA-Volunteers Asia in 2005. He has picked up some Manggarai dialect along the way and also speaks Indonesian. In 2011, John created Harpoon Mobile, a maptech software that was later sold to a North American online marketing company in 2013. He went on to co-found C88 Financial Technologies Pte Ltd in Singapore that acquired CekAja and Otobro in Indonesia. John became the Group CEO of C88. The group’s other co-founder and chairman Karl Knoflach is based in the Philippines.

National University of Singapore graduate Danny Widodo is a veteran in the entertainment industry. Besides working at JP Morgan as a credit risk analyst, he also had extracurricular interests at Give.sg and the National Arts Council. Hugo Monteiro is a Portuguese IT Engineer from Universidade de Lisboa. The co-founder and VP Engineering of Spotahome was previously employed at Portugal Telecom and BNP Paribas. He has also worked for startups like UniPlaces in the real estate sector in Lisbon, Portugal.He connected with co-founder Bryan McEire when the latter moved from Spain to work in Lisbon. He was invited to join the Spotahome co-founding team when the proptech was revived by CEO Artacho on his return from London.

In 2015, he resigned from Huawei and launched Makebang, a software crowdsourcing platform. Recognizing the limited growth potential of the industry, Zhao sold Makebang in 2017. In 2017, he co-founded Tiantian Xuenong with Yan Zitong, a friend from university, and became its CEO.
