Xia Zuoquan (b. 1963) co-founded BYD in 1996, which makes cars as well as batteries for electric vehicles. BYD is about 10% owned by Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway. Xia founded Zhengxuan Capital in 2004, an investment firm having over RMB 10 billion in assets under management. Zhengxuan Capital has invested in more than 30 companies in gene sequencing, robotics, smart hardware, chip design, supply chain finance and talent assessment sectors. Xia was placed no. 256 in the 2015 Forbes China Rich List, with an estimated net worth US$1.2 billion.

Lei is co-founder, chairman and CEO of Xiaomi, one of the world’s largest smartphone companies. Born in December 1969, he holds a degree in Engineering from Wuhan University. With a personal net worth of US$11.2 billion, Lei has invested in 33 companies as a business angel, including Vancl.com, UCWeb, and YY Inc., a live streaming social media platform in China. He has also invested in 270 companies through Shunwei Capital, where he is a founding partner. Lei's investment focuses are e-commerce, mobile internet and social networking.

Ibersol is a Portuguese restaurant sector investor established in 1994. It holds the franchises of several of Spain and Portugal's top-selling fast-food chains including Burger King in both nations, Pans & Company in Spain and KFC in Portugal and Angola.To date, it has invested in one startup, the Portuguese healthy food service EatTasty, with undisclosed investment in the company's seed stage, phase one, that raised €1.1m. Founded in 2018, Oslo-based Katapult Ocean is the first investor focused entirely on oceantech and related startups. NGP Capital was founded in 2005 with Nokia and Bell Labs as its limited partners. It has investment teams in Asia (India and China), North America and Europe. It invests mainly in growth-stage companies with typical investments ranging from $8m–$12m.With more than $1.2bn under management, NGP Capital's portfolio includes Xiaomi, Deliveroo and UCweb. As of July 2019, NGP Capital had invested in more than 90 companies, including eight IPOs and 33 M&As. It focuses also on mobility and digital health sectors.

Founded by Feng Bo, who left China for San Francisco at aged 18 and returning in 1994, as one of technology-focused boutique investment bank Robertson Stephens' first bankers in China. Feng set up Ceyuan Ventures in 2004, focusing on early-stage IT and emerging growth firms in China. Notable investments include Jiayuan, Qihoo 360, Dianping and Meitu. Feng Bo is the brother of Feng Tao, another leading investor, and founder and head of NewMargin Ventures.

China- and Asia Pacific-focused SAIF Partners is one of China's largest homegrown PE firms, managing about $4 billion in capital. Led by former World Bank economist Andy Yan, it has invested in more than 200 companies. Taking a value-based investment approach, it says: "We generally make individual equity investments of between $10 million and $100 million, in one or more rounds of financing, and generally seek to obtain a significant minority equity ownership position in the range of 15% to 40% of a portfolio company." SAIF also has a strong presence in India.

As the Korean conglomerate’s gateway to deep tech startups and innovation, Samsung NEXT covers product development, investment, M&A and partnerships in a single entity to complement Samsung’s hardware business. Outside of South Korea, Samsung NEXT has offices in Berlin, Tel Aviv and in the US in New York, San Francisco, and Silicon Valley. Its portfolio currently includes 55 companies with recent investments including in Series A rounds for Tetrate, Brodmann17 and RapidDeploy, as well as Healthy.io's Series B. It has managed 13 exits to date, including LoopPay, Automated Insights and EyeVerify. The VC was established in 2013. 

Silicon Valley Future Capital is a venture capital firm that invests primarily in early stage and growth stage companies with disruptive technologies or innovative business models. Founding partner Dr. Hong Miao used to be managing partner of CLI Ventures, senior VP of CheerLand Investment Group, executive president of the CL Institute of Innovation, and chairman of Zen Water Capital in Silicon Valley. The firm invests primarily in innovations in high-tech, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, cloud computing, robotics, life science, biotech, precision medicine and other disruptive technologies.
