Chen Yalin used to work on supply chains at China National Electronics Import & Export Corporation (CEIEC) and Shanghai Lonyer Fuels Co Ltd. After 2000, he got into international trading at Vinmar International, Tricon Energy. He joined a Swiss trading company in 2008 as head of its Shanghai office. He founded Clever Home in 2015.

An alumnus of the University Institute of Lisbon, Jorge Correia majored in Management and received his master’s in Business Administration in 2011. After graduating, Correia went on to work as an operations analyst and then a controller at B2B2C mail operator Adicional Logistics. In 2013, he co-founded 360imprimir, a printing B2B marketplace, where he works as CFO.

Marta Palmeiro graduated in Business Administration and Management at Portugal's Nova School of Business and Economics in 2007. She went to London to work at Credit Suisse as an intern and joined the bank's graduate program in 2007. She stayed in London until 2010 and went on to work at Credit Suisse in Madrid until July 2016. The VP of Investment Banking (Capital Markets) was primarily responsible for Iberian accounts.Based in Lisbon, she is now a partner at Pier Partners VC where she has worked since 2016. She has completed courses in fintech and blockchain business strategy run by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Oxford university's Said Business School respectively.  In 2018, she became a board member of Portugal Fintech, an NGO overseeing the development of the country's fintech ecosystem. In August 2019, the mother-of-three became a fintech entrepreneur as the Portuguese co-founder and CFO of StudentFinance.

UK-born serial entrepreneur Edward Hamilton founded his first tech startup, Lavalocker, in Barcelona in 2013 to provide on-demand laundry and dry-cleaning services. He later built on the smart-locker technology to establish Mayordomo that launched Smart Point in 2016, a digital vending system with smart lockers to offer personal shopping, delivery and pickups for over 200 categories of goods and services. Hamilton graduated in Business Administration from Berkeley, University of California in 2000. He worked for almost four years at WP Carey & Co in New York specializing in investments and acquisitions. In March 2006, he moved to London to work as a real estate equity investment manager at Barclay’s Capital. In 2010, he went to Spain to work as a Green Bean business coach for SMEs based in Barcelona. His latest venture is Droppo, which he co-founded in 2019. Based in Barcelona, Droppo is a zero-emission electric last-mile logistics transport network.

Zhu graduated from Stanford University in 2012 with a master’s in Mechanical Engineering. That same year, he returned to China and co-founded Mobvoi. In 2014, Zhu left Mobvoi to work at IDG Capital Partners as the firm’s first Entrepreneur-In-Residence. A year later, he joined VC firm FreeS Fund, where he now serves as vice president.

Shuai Ke graduated from Jiangsu University in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in Medical Insurance. Upon graduation, he joined Colgate to work in marketing and sales. Two years later, he joined news portal NetEase. In April 2014, he resigned from the post of editor-in-chief for the tech channel at NetEase and co-founded Fenbi, the predecessor of Yuanfudao.

Xue quit Huawei in 2008, spent a “gap year” mountaineering, before founding Yunjiazheng.

In 2008, Shi Shenyang joined Qunar.com and became a founding member of the hotel business unit of the Chinese trip booking website. He worked at Qunar as the company’s hotel product director before joining Modoo as chief product officer and co-founder in 2015.

Arifin Asydhad, a graduate from the University of Padjajaran, is a self-professed workaholic. Hailing from Bogor, Arifin is known to often work until 9 pm as a journalist. As the former director and editor in chief of Detikcom for almost 17 years, he has accompanied Indonesian government officials on visits to China and Brazil. However, Arifin left Detikcom in September 2016 to help ex-Detikcom seniors and colleagues to establish Kumparan in November.

He was also a software engineer at Qronospire and at EmpireOne group in Australia. Other IT work experiences include web front-end and application development in Australia.

Ardo Adiwidjaja followed his passion for the culinary arts by becoming a co-founder of BlackGarlic in 2015. Armed with over six years of project management and business development work experience, he is also the COO of BlackGarlic. Ardo has a degree in Chemical and Process Engineering from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany. He started his career as a trainee in 2009 at Voith Paper GmbH & Co and rose to become a manager before returning to Indonesia.
