Highly successful in the Middle East, Jolly Information Technology is a Chinese cross-border e-commerce company that sells products to over 175 territories with over 20 million registered users. It currently has branches or local operating teams in Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, the Silicon Valley, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Dubai. Its online shopping app Jolly is the best-known app in the Middle East.

NAOS is a French multinational company operating in 100 countries, with a special focus on skincare. Bioderma is its best-known brand. Established over 40 years ago by pharmacist-biologist Jean-Noël Thorel, the company stresses the importance of ecobiology. The company recently extended its scope from skincare to a wider interest in the healthcare sector, such as beauty and well-being. Mediktor is its first investment in tech startups.

PadeInvest is involved in early-stage investments to accelerate the growth of Spanish startups. Prior to this, Aranguren Herrera worked for several years as a consultant at McKinsey and late led strategy and business expansion at OnTruck, one of the most promising logistics startups in Spain. 

José Neves is best known as the CEO and co-founder of fashion unicorn Farfetch, one of Portugal's most successful startups to date. London-based Neves is also a non-executive director at the British Fashion Council. He has set up his own foundation to spend two-thirds of Farfetch's profits on innovation projects. As an angel investor, he has so far invested in two startups: Portuguese fintech StudentFinance and fashion platform asap54.com where he is also an advisor.

Squirrel AI CEO and co-founder Zhou Wei was formerly VP of Only Education International, a K12 educational institution. He was also the GM of Only Education’s strategic expansion department from 2010, growing its student base from 100,000 to 1m over three years, acquiring the biggest share of the children’s English education market in China and once had opened 600 institutions in one year. Prior to joining Only Education, Zhou worked at Avon Products as its GM in Shanghai, where he achieved a record RMB 500m in annual sales and won the Best Regional and Team-Lead Sales Performance title for four consecutive years .

Edward Tirtanata is best known for establishing Kopi Kenangan, the popular grab-and-go coffee chain. Prior to that, however, the finance and accounting graduate from Northeastern University, USA, had established Lewis & Carroll, a premium establishment serving artisanal tea. Unfortunately, the brand struggled to grow among Indonesia's budget-conscious youths, who preferred the cheaper bubble tea. Learning from the experience, he decided to eschew the Starbucks-style “third home” retail concept and opted for grab-and-go stalls that are cheaper to establish, but without abandoning the quality of the coffee served. The concept proved to be a hit, and Tirtanata's new venture became a nationwide sensation.Aside from his role as CEO of Kopi Kenangan, Tirtanata is getting more deeply involved in the F&B startup ecosystem. In February 2020, he joined Gojek and startup ecosystem builder Digitaraya in establishing Digitarasa, a new accelerator program for F&B businesses.

B Capital Group is best known as the venture capital firm co-founded by Eduardo Saverin, co-founder of Facebook. Its investment thesis focuses on connecting highly innovative and agile startups with major corporates that are in need of innovation and have the resources to innovate. As such, B Capital has a special interest in B2B companies that have great potential to disrupt critical industries. This includes startups that are disrupting healthcare and biotechnology, as well as finance and insurance. B Capital has also supported some notable B2C companies, including coffee chain Kopi Kenangan and used car marketplace Carro.

Bynd Venture Capital is a Portuguese seed/early-stage VC firm that changed its name from Busy Angels in 2019 and opened a new €10M investment fund, with Didimo its first recipient. Busy Angels' more than 30-strong portfolio has passed under Bynd's stewardship. Bynd is led by former senior corporate executives and counts among its shareholders former Cabinet minister Luís Mira Amaral and corporate entities Danone, P&G and Pepsi. Busy Angels was founded in 2010 in Lisbon and concentrates on seed and early-stage B2B and B2C startups doing business in Portugal and/or Spain. DefinedCrowd and Zaask! are among its best known portfolio companies.

Gan is best known for being the 67th employee of Alibaba and the former COO of Meituan-Dianping. Before joining Alibaba in 1999, Gan had worked at a state-owned coal trading enterprise for five years. At Alibaba, he served in multiple roles, including as director of online operation, director of marketing, regional manager and vice president. Gan left Alibaba to become COO of Meituan in 2011. In 2016, he was named the first president of Meituan-Dianping's Internet Plus University, which was founded to train company employees. Gan resigned from Meituan-Dianping in 2017 to join Hillhouse Capital as managing partner.

Laura González- Estéfani is best known as the co-founder of Venture City. Established in 2017, the tech accelerator has offices in Miami in the US and Madrid in Spain. The director of one of Spain’s largest banks CaixaBank is also a board member of the European Commission’s Innovation Council. She has also worked for Facebook as a country manager for Spain and Portugal.González- Estéfani has also been a prolific private investor and business angel since 2016. She invests across ecosystems and market verticals, including success stories like Cabify and Spotahome. In 2020, she participated in the seed round of Spanish femtech WOOM.

Owned by French investment group Eurazeo, Idinvest Partners was founded in 1997 in Paris, France, as AGF Private Equity and operated as part of German multinational Allianz until 2010, when it became an independent entity. With additional offices in Madrid, Frankfurt, Shanghai and Dubai, Idinvest manages €8bn in assets and has invested in around 4,000 companies, with 75 exits. It specializes in private equity and venture capital financing of European small and mid-size startups and has been named Best Private Equity Team by Deloitte in its 2012 Technology Fast 50 Awards. The company was acquired by Eurazeo in April 2018. 

Paul Allen was an American business magnate and investor. Best known as Microsoft Corporation co-founder with his childhood friend Bill Gates, he left the company after eight years after being diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease. Allen died in 2018 at the age of 65, with a net worth of $20.3bn.His multibillion-dollar investment arm Vulcan Capital has backed tech startups around the world, including Spotify, Alibaba Group and Flipkart. Allen also owned the NBA's Portland Trail Blazers, the NFL's Seattle Seahawks and has a stake in the Seattle Sounders soccer team. He also donated over $2bn to philanthropic initiatives.
