Serial entrepreneur Cristina Fonseca co-founded VEEP and Bouncely in Lisbon, Portugal, and co-founded Talkdesk in San Francisco, California, US. She left Talkdesk in February 2016 and is currently a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Europe. Fonseca was listed on Forbes’s 30 under 30 in 2016. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Network and Telecommunications from Instituto Superior Tecnico.

NYSE-listed Cheetah Mobile is a Beijing-based mobile internet company behind the popular utility applications Clean Master, Security Master and Battery Doctor. It also provides computer security software Duba Anti-virus and other platform products. Cheetah Mobile was formed from the merger of Kingsoft Security and Conew Image in 2010; it went public in 2014.

MediaTek Inc. is a Taiwanese fabless semiconductor company. Its chips are widely used in smartphones and tablet computers sold by Xiaomi, Huawei, Meizu, Lenovo, etc. MediaTek Inc. was founded in 1997, and its headquarters are in Hsinchu, Taiwan. Founded in 1986 by global industrialist and philanthropist Len Blavatnik, Access Industries is a privately held industrial group with long-term holdings worldwide. It is headquartered in New York City with additional offices in London and Moscow. In 2015, Access Industries established Access Technology Ventures which has invested in Snapchat, Yelp, Alibaba, Spotify, etc.

WuXi AppTec is a Chinese company that specializes in the outsourcing of R&D in the pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and medical devices sectors. Listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, WuXi AppTec has invested in drug development and healthcare firms globally. Its portfolio includes Insilico Medicine, which is developing an AI platform for drug development, brain disease research firm Verge Genomics and Indonesian healthcare platform Halodoc.

Founded in Beijing in 2010 with a registered capital of RMB 12m, Hongdao Capital manages six RMB funds and one US dollar fund, totaling RMB 2bn. It has invested in over 80 companies, including unicorns Ofo, WeDoctor, Wecash, and Renrendai.com. The sectors it has invested in include, internet-based finance, corporate services, healthcare and AI. Its investment size ranges from RMB 500,000 to RMB 50m. 

Renhe Group was founded in Jiangxi Province by Yang Wenlong in 2001. The group, including its flagship listed Renhe Pharmacy, earned total sales revenue of RMB 11.23bn in 2018 with a year-on-year profit growth of 25%. The group comprises 20 subsidiaries dealing in cosmetics, household chemicals, pharmaceutical, medical supplies and equipment.

Bright Pixel is a Portuguese company of angel investors, established in 2016, owned by the investment division of one of Portugal's largest companies, retailer Sonae Group.To date, it has invested in six companies at the early-stage. Its most recent investments include in the €2m seed round of US security tech Fyde and in the €550,000 seed round of Portuguese online security tech Probely.

Established in 2002, Hong Kong Stock Exchange-listed NWS Holdings’ main businesses are in infrastructure and service. Its main shareholder is New World Development. Henry Cheng currently serves as chairman and executive director of NWS Holdings. He is the eldest son of Dr Cheng Yu-tung, the founder of New World Development, a Hong Kong-based conglomerate engaged in property development, infrastructure and services. 

Indonesia's largest media conglomerate, Kompas Gramedia controls the country's national newspaper, Kompas, and operates the country's biggest bookstore chain, Gramedia. It also runs its own publishing house, Gramedia Pustaka Utama. With Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, Kompas Gramedia co-founded tech incubator and coworking space Skystar Ventures. The media conglomerate also backed Skystar Capital, a separate and independent investment arm from Skystar Ventures. Kompas Gramedia was founded in 1965.

Enlightened Hospitality Investments (EHI) is a New York-based growth fund launched by Danny Meyer and his Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG). The fund leverages USHG's network of chefs, IT, marketers, and industry experts.Active since the early ’90s, it currently has $220m under management. To date, EHI has made eight investments bringing technology into the hospitality sector through companies operating in the food and beverage space.
