CTO and co-founder of HumanITcare
Sanchez is a computer and data science expert with a master’s degree in innovation and research in informatics with specialization in advanced computing from the Polytechnic University of Barcelona (UPC). He also holds multiple certifications from the John Hopkins University School of Education. Sanchez is currently CTO and co-founder of HumanITcare, a telemedicine platform for remote patient monitoring using real-world data and AI to treat patients affected by chronic diseases and also to accelerate drug development and clinical trials. Prior to HumanITcare, Sanchez worked as Data Scientist in a joint-project between the Spanish insurance company Catalana Occidente and technology consultancy Raona to develop a sales collaborative platform. Kenyan-born Thomas Njeru co-founded insurtech Pula in 2015 and became its co-CEO in June 2017. Providing insurance to smallholder farmers was a key objective for Njeru, who grew up in a small farming community.After his education at Mangu High School, Njeru went on to graduate in actuarial science at the University of Nairobi in 2009. He became a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in December 2011. He also completed a CFA financial analysis qualification in 2015 and MBA from Strathmore Business School in 2018.He worked at UAP Insurance for almost four years before joining Deloitte in South Africa in 2012 as a consulting actuary. In 2014, he was promoted to become director of actuarial and insurance advisory. He left in 2018 to focus on his work at Pula as co-CEO.

Ho met Felix Cheung during the master’s program and they continued to develop the advanced sous-vide aseptic packaging (ASAP) technology after their graduation. They went on to co-found IXON Food Technology in January 2017, with funding from an angel investor.Ho had previously worked as a laboratory supervisor for nine years at the Vegetable Marketing Organization (VMO), monitoring the levels of pesticide chemical residues and heavy metals in domestic and imported fruits and vegetables. The VMO is a self-financing, non-profit organization established in 1946 to support local vegetable wholesalers and customers in Hong Kong. It also ensures food safety standards compliance and supports the sustainable development of local agriculture.
